If Dr Shend happens to read this can he please point me in the direction of some Elena stuff that a beginner would need to know? I've seen the renic primer thing which was good but anything else that could be recommended would be appreciated.

There's very little out there. I don't actually have any instructional Elena videos for example!

This post on SRK is good.

Otherwise this godly Japanese repository Game Restaurant has a lot of info if you can make heads or tails of it.

I just remembered last night that T Hawk has that weird close standing hard kick that kinda launches the opponent; can that be followed up, or is it just useful for the knockdown?

You can do ex dive after standing HK. The timing is very strict though.

Fun casuals at Sunday Face Off again today. Lots of chatter about the previous day's SCR happenings too, so I was glad I stayed up and watched it as spoilers were aflying. Also three of us who live within walking distance of each other have agreed to do a casuals session every Wednesday evening, which should be fun. One of them is comfortably the best SF4 player there, so regular sets against him will be excellent. This should help me get my fix when online games aren't happening too.

Oh,and one of the guys there has an Asus monitor so I played at that set up for the whole afternoon. It was glorious.

Well, it's imstilldadaddy. He gets a life lead and taunts you from fullscreen. Unless he's playing Seth, in which case he gets you dizzied and taunts you right in your face before doing a slightly ridiculous combo. That's exactly what he did last night.

Joffo! Hello! Makoto would probably be in range for a regular-ass HK Karakusa after a Hayate feint in the corner, you might need to Kara if you're mid-screen if your opponent isn't wildly obese though.

Oh, this happened last night, too.

Catching up with the SCR AE Top 32 and enjoying it, despite some inconsistent buffering issues. Can't argue for $2.99, really.

I have appreciated the amount of Balrog and Honda on stream. I really enjoy watching those characters play, I might try to C-rank me some Rog this week.

I watched the first half of top 8 with the missus, who picked her support according to how nice a competitor was or how well dressed. Needless to say...

PR Rog and Dieminion

... found their way into her affections. But she's gone to sleep, and I can repeat my witless performance of watching it all/doing it live.

Infiltration learning the Yun matchup in a Grand Final! Great run by Hugo101 though.

Stream (yeah, really reliable source) seemed to suggest that Choysauce's translation was really rough, and Ultradavid's following PR work seemed to be a little closer to what Infiltration was really saying.

Ultradavid, that famous non-Korean speaker, of course.

Dunno if this should be spoiler'd, but safe is safe.

That was sad to see, was really rooting for Hugo, but the way Infiltration seemed to just download and dispatch him was amazing, and slightly scary. That dude is really good.

I was actually foolish enough to allow myself to get anxious about the final. Hugo101 put up a fantastically entertaining fight but just thinking about the fact that Infiltration flicked the switch and got six straight rounds in pretty convincing fashion jolted myself to the realisation that there probably wasn't as much of a fight as I'd thought.

Still, Infiltration gets kudos for gentleman skills.

That's not the first time someone's counter picked him with yun. Ryan hart did it earlier this year at dreamhack (I think), and he still won. The man's scary good. And to just bust out hakan like that in winners finals was excellent. Ultradavid was probably the happiest man in the world at that point. Thing with infiltration is he's just so disgustingly safe and quick to adapt. He's basically the borg of children's fighting videogames. The amount of chip he gets from red fireball is just insane, he always spaces it perfectly too. Just everything is so clinical.

Hello strawdonkey, we still need to play. I've been a bit busy lately and don't seem to know if I'll be available in the evening or not until a few hours before. I'll probably be on relatively late most weekdays this week (like 10.30-12 or so). I might be on earlier either tomorrow or Wednesday, depending on which kickboxing thing I go to.

I don't think Saturday works for me. Sunday could? Friday is a terrifying unknown.

I'm about tonight and/or tomorrow, and can probably make those times. Might be best off sending me a PM on here if you're around later? That way I get an email notification that goes to my phone that I'll actually see rather than having to have the XBox on all night when I secretly want to be playing Valkyria Chronicles instead.

Lads, I just bought yet another copy of Super Street Fighter IV. It was the 3DS version again, since I traded mine in during the mega Game trade in offer. I got it for a tenner in HMV. I had a gap of two hours between my shift and my overtime so I got stuck into the trials; completed Ryu and Rufus' trials before the 'achievement' for doing X amount of special moves popped up. Boom.

It's so very awkward through; when facing left and trying to do Rufus' mk.messiah kick he'd crouch and then do his f+mk overhead. The dpad must be missing my diagonal. Sadness. I'll probably end up resorting to Lite mode to finish off some of the trials. TRIALS! I can't wait to start playing the PC version one day.

Oh, and Project X Zone has apparently been confirmed for Europe in the summer too, so that's probably good? I've no idea if the game is actually good but I'll get it anyway. Here's a stolen image from the tweet:
