He's a lovely guy. I really want to send "Is this because I have more points than you?" because I imagine it would make him froth at the mouth, but that would be stooping too low I feel. I will refrain.

Ack, I'll have to wait until I get home to see what those pictures Donut posted show; I assume it's excellent rage mail.

I've not been getting much rage recently, and I've been taunting quite a lot. It's a shame. I played a single match against Jiro last night, where he Codied my Dan right up before having some lovely pasta.

I've been playing Anarchy Reigns and I think it is good.

Haha, I was wondering where Donut's video was going but it got there in the end.

I got mail last night from someone helpfully informing me that my mashing wouldn't work if it wasn't laggy, having spent the last two games beating me with the classic lag tactic of repeatedly throwing because throw techs are impossible. I sent back a nice message pointing out that clearly my mashing hadn't been working even while it was laggy, with a little sad face and some joffocakes kisses.

I think the game heard about me posting here with pride and decided to karmically induce me to make nothing but bad decisions for a whole night.

Oh I had awful lag tonight... been having a really odd thing with our homeplugs where they're connecting to our neighbour's Sky box. My laptop will be connected to our home network but if I go to 198.162.0.1 I get their Sky router's landing page via a wired connection (opportunity for evil - they've not changed the default wired passwords) and at the same time I can't reach either of our routers (have one set up as a repeater) until I unplug the homeplugs (which are used to connect the Xbox and the 2nd router upstairs) and then it all settles down. I mean that's mental - I've no idea how it can happen.

Anyhoo been messing about with it, pairing the homeplugs and stuff and tonight the lag was awful. Checked with my laptop and the Xbox was getting a terrible connection don't know what the fuck is going on. Had matches with Joe and and JLM. Oh and a wee sneaky one with Joffo while I was making pasta. Joe's lobby was unplayable so I didn't even get a game with AndyGT and at first the connection to JLM was as bad but we did get a few games later after I'd messed around switching things on and off again. Don't think I won a match, but there were a lot of close ones. I've got new homeplugs coming tomorrow so hopefully that'll fix it all.

Can you change the default IP address on your router to say 192.162.10.0 ? You will need to reconnect all your devices if any are statically address but it should stop any conflicts which you describe. I use static addresses with my kit but that is more to make sure the 360 is in the DMZ and has an open NAT.

Either that or buy a long cable off ebay and drill a hole in any walls, job done :)

Meant to appologise to you Joffo for the raw U2 chip finishes last night. Not nice I know but I was in autopilot ranked mode. Sorry!

This morning I got new homeplugs, will try them out tonight.

Here's a thing: Cody and his Zonks (his hold-to-charge punch move) - sometimes I'm mucking about and I'll try and have a Zonk always charged but most of the time I forget about them. I know EX Zonk is his only reliable reversal but other than that I think I'm under-using them.

When I do use it though, there seems to be a rhythm to the fight which sometimes I'm on and my Zonks are timed right but mostly I'm off it and they get stuffed. I guess that's a general thing when you're playing against someone who has a rhythm to their moves - you can get a feel for it and use it against them but conversely when I'm playing with a rhythm it gives my opponent a way of predicting when I'm going to press buttons. Hmm. Today's thought: Walk without rhythm and you won't disturb the worm.

edit: Cheers Plop for the response. More info: I've got the routers on 192.168.1.1 and 1.2 which adds to the mystery. XBox is on a fixed IP assigned by Mac address and it's all connected to a Virgin cable modem in modem mode at 192.168.1.100 - There's no way I should be able to hit their Sky box but I'm assuming they've got homeplugs on the same phase as us and it's acting as though I was wired into their router. What confuses me the most is that when it happens my own gear becomes unavailable.

Plop - not the old ones, I pushed some buttons on them that's supposed to pair them up with a random key but that's when my XBox connection dropped to a flakey 5mbps. My new ones might. Will have a look tonight.

I like playing JLM cos he makes me think about everything I do cos I know he's analysing everything at 60fps. Actually I think he's probably got a better understanding of my game than I do.

Just read a sticky on NeoGAF about mega threads that made me feel guilty about posting in here.

I like fighting JLM because he sometimes has a nice character specific gimmick to show off and I can tell he knows I'll like it.

Also, I don't really understand NeoGAF because every other poster seems to be banned. Also I registered and I had to wait literally months to be approved. Also people seem to violently hate things for being half decent, but absolutely adore and long for sequels to games which were mediocre/poor. Like Bomberman 64, for some reason.

Still; it's not blocked in work, whereas rllmuk occasionally is.

I flirted with NeoGAF recently but I don't think I like it. They do have a tremendously active weekly fighting games thread which is quite nice and always has a great first post with upcoming events etc but so many of the other threads just fill me with despair, like the Dead Island one where people were trying to justify the limited edition existing, or the DMC one where everybody was frothily moaning about superficial nonsense except for that one guy with the Lloyd Webber avatar.
