You know how some evenings you just realise why you love Streetfighter? Tonight's been one of those. I reckon Nuskool and I are pretty evenly matched - he is definitely much better at extracting damage out of an opening than I am, but I felt like I represented some of my best play since AE came out in this set.

Can't wait for the runback.

Once again had great fun... I need to start learning from my mistakes. So many times I jumped over you and you just ended up throwing me! Every time I did it I was getting mad with myself. I definitely noticed you spotting my common mistakes and punishing them consistently.

Sorry I couldn't stay for some casuals but we'll definitely get some games in soon.

My flu thing made a Guile theme comeback on Friday and its still going :(

I did play Sanky Bear's Balrog last night though, he's got Balrog EX upper loops that make a mockery of my fisher price rendition - cr.lp, st.lp, cr.mp xx ex upper. Naice. Lovely rushdown too.

Oh and I watched Style Wars, which was excellent.

Oh, that sounds excellent. We generally follow up all documentaries with obsessive googling of everyone's names to make sure the ones we like are happy and the ones we don't like are dead.

Is that the correct place for an apostrophe in "everyone's"?

Style Wars watchers, it's well worth hunting down the 'Revisited' DVD as the extras on it are superb, including 'where are they now?' interviews with a lot of people from the original film.

Oh aye, the follow-ups are excellent. I'm looking forward to something similar for Infamy in a few years where Saber has mechanical arms and legs like Inspector Gadget, Earsnot is doing ok, and Toomer is the CEO of some multinational.

I hope future Street Fighter games have a more versatile replay system, with replays you can send in messages to view in game, and maybe annotate and stuff. Maybe a tournament or league mode which automatically associates the match replays with the brackets and stuff. Do the Halo games still have ridiculous online stat-tracking support? I remember being able to view wild maps and statistics online for Halo 2, back in the day. I want that, but for something I'm better at.

Being able to send replays would be a huge bonus. The battle log already stores dozens on an individual hard drive, so they can't be that hard to share - it's only really storing button inputs rather than video data, right? The main problem I see is that you have to both be online and arrange everything together, rather than being able to store some data online for someone else to download at their convenience. Oh, and it'd help if you could add a more detailed description befitting of the titles we're using on the YouTube channel, rather than the short titles we have right now.

Yes it is amazing and everyone must play it immediately. It's a browser thing, and very light, and is maybe half an hour long. It's one of the best things I played last year.

I'm sure there is a joke about a number between 6 and 8 and a certain magazine, but Im not sure.

I'm on the ship and have set the course back to mars, but when I tried to sleep I seem to have a problem with perfume. I think it is to do with the pink blobs but can't seem to work it out

Help me Impstilldadaddy your my only hope, unless Nate doesn't hate me.

Have you found the empty coffee cup? and yes, it involves the pink stuff.

Fucking hell my heart is beating so goddamn fast right now. Tense games (for me anyway), dropped combos all over the shop, but at least all of my option selects went really well. Grapplers are still my big weakness it seems. Well played Sith!

Fucking hell they were tense games. First game I was woeful, not played since my last round and it showed. However I did notice Imp was blocking everytime I jumped in, in game two I decided to SPD everytime I jumped in and it caught Imp off guard and the games were over very quickly. It was then Imp's turn to change strategy as he started throwing out dragon kicks (dunno the real name of the move haha) more often and this led to some crazy guesses and mind games.

At 2-2 I somehow lost a round when I had 2 bars of meter and Imp had chip damage left to my faily decent life-lead but one miss-placed dive later I was dead. I then missed my ultra twice in the next round and got caught by dragon kick > FADC > throw twice in the corner to somehow lose another round I was in control of, fair play to Imp here, he kept calm and it paid off for him and I thought I was going to lose from this point.

In the next two games I went for broke, slighly pissed off from the last round and noticing Imp was never using Dragon Kick as an anti-air I just jumped in every chance I got mixing between SPD and the body splash and I think my agressive play threw Imp off completly (I'm usually a very patient player as you guys know) to take a 4-3 lead. Just when I thought I'd finally finished Imp off he stormed back and took a round fairly quickly, it was 1-0 to Imp who had a full EX-meter to my empty bar. I said out loud to my brother "I've lost this one" so I had to revert back to pokey Hawk and try get as much free damage as possible and go for the one and only EX-Dive > Ultra the moment I had one bar of meter. I managed to get Imp down to about 45% health (I was on less) and he was retreating from mid-screen when I just when for it, Imp just stood there as I think he expected the ultra to miss but it has a decpetively long-range! 1-1 but yet again I had no meter!! So I just decided that I'd do the same thing again and I hit it much more sweetly in this round to take the set. Hopefully we can get the videos up.

Great games mate, pushed me all the way and on another night you could have easily taken it.

Things I learned tonight:

I MUST NOT FORGET MEDIUM TOMAHWAWK IS THROW INVINCIBLE - I lost the amount of times I read a throw tonight only to do the heavy version instead :(

Adon's cross-up range is very, very strange.

Shouting "I'm a fucking retard" when everyone is sleeping does not go down well!

Yeah, adon's DP doesn't have the hitbox to beat hawk's splash, unless you go EX or do it super late (I think), and I always forget to go EX, and I don't have the patience to go late.

And yes, I could not fucking believe how big the range was on that ultra. I was thinking, "la dee da, how shall I ever punish this? walk forward and do a s.HP into a combo? raw ultra? play it safe with a s.HK? And then oof. Mindfucked me for the last round. Sigh. To be fair I hadn't played since my last round either, so we were evenly matched in that sense!

I'd watch Melee. I don't even really know what it looks like at high level. Other than No Items, Fox Only, Final Destination memes. It should totally be random stage if it happens, with all the items.

I played a few quick matches against joeplus last night, and it was good. I totally mashed out an SPD win where I should have been Rose'd to death at one point, and I fell bad about it.

Also, I won three separate matches last night in ranked thanks to Dan's utterly messed-up crumple hurtbox causing punishes to sail over me.

Also also, I wasn't sure how that imp vs sith match would go, since T Hawk and Gief can be a nightmare for Adon, but imp doesn't walldive much and has pretty consistent links. I wanna watch it.

I don't really know what result I wanted from Imp vs. Sith. Maybe for them to call it a tie at 4-4 and respectfully bow out of the tournament as equals. Couldn't have done that for me could you guys? Selfish.

The very first thing I did was a walldive that was a failed instant Jagger kick, hah. I got 360'd out of every dropped link too (and there were a lot - I realised my bnb doesn't work on hawk when I do a crossup on him standing, but couldn't adapt from my muscle memory. And the two or three times I actually got the 1 frame link, I missed the cr.LP. I tried to revert to a simpler combo, but I hadn't practiced and failed that. Siiiigh!

They totally made the wrong decisions with gems. They spent so long fretting over them giving players an unfair advantage, and ended up killing any incentive to buy them. The fact they're so cumbersome to set up doesn't help at all either.

I almost really like the core game as well; there's some interesting combos and wild juggles. I'm hoping to see a lot more Pandora suicides when the patch arrives.
