Ha, I checked my friends list before turning in and saw you were on episode 5 and the wife and I made sympathetic noises. then right before our eyes it flicked from 'playing episode 5' to 'main menu' and I was very close to messaging you to ask if you were okay.

Also! I went to the new-look Cale Towers this evening and it was excellent. Also alistarr, apologies but I didn't see your message until I got home - could possibly do tomorrow afternoon, if not then I'm free in the evenings from Tuesday onwards.

Oooh, sweeeeet. It's actually pretty fun (and nerve wracking) to put a PC together. I'm bloody well loving it though, shit looks amazing, and thanks to the steam sales, I've already got a backlog, meaning I'm a true PC nerd now. Yay. I'm playing Dishonored at the minute, and it's ridiculously fun strategising how to take out multiple people without being noticed, and then executing that plan. Or having the plan completely fuck up and then do some excellent sword swingin'. It's beautiful too, really painterly colours, sunsets in the style of the old Dutch masters. In fact, I zoomed in on a painting in-game, and I saw they'd actually added brushstroke textures to it. I think my heart skipped a beat. The only thing that bothers me is that all the place names and general steam-punk aesthetic have a very British bent to them, but all the main characters speak with unabashed American accents. I'm used to it now, but it was a bit jarring at first. Also there's this alarm sound that sounds exactly like the one in Half Life 2 which I'm not sure is excellent or awesome. Marvellous game.

Fondly remembering the three-rage-quits-in-a-row madness the other night, I played a bit more of this videogame against strangers last night and this morning and had more lovely times including encouters with some forum favourites. That hutch boy with the Seth sethed me around a bunch after I snuck a win against his Evil Roo, then that nice Life McBeast boy (I like to think of him as a scot rather than a rapper of some sort) quit after one game because I Rufused his Sagat, and then this morning a Blanka rage quit when I demonstrated for the second time that no, his random ultra 1 getting beaten out by EX snake strike was not a fluke.

Also I lost a lot of games to people who were much better than me with a great number of characters, but I can't remember their tags. Props denied, sorry.

You know how some evenings you just realise why you love Streetfighter? Tonight's been one of those. I reckon Nuskool and I are pretty evenly matched - he is definitely much better at extracting damage out of an opening than I am, but I felt like I represented some of my best play since AE came out in this set.

I hope future Street Fighter games have a more versatile replay system, with replays you can send in messages to view in game, and maybe annotate and stuff. Maybe a tournament or league mode which automatically associates the match replays with the brackets and stuff. Do the Halo games still have ridiculous online stat-tracking support? I remember being able to view wild maps and statistics online for Halo 2, back in the day. I want that, but for something I'm better at.

I am looking forward to more Street Fighting. I fought a man called TheRealKodelive in a first to ten the other night. It was pretty laggy at time, but I think his 10 - 6 win was justified. Dropped a whole bunch of fancy-Dan nonsense though, and played an absolutely abysmal M.Bison (I think it might well have been a double perfect if it weren't for scissors chip).

I played some Demon's Souls last night, scrapped my barbarian and started again with a temple knight. Much more like it! I can survive more than one hit! So much better. For a while anyway ...

I've got past the first level now, defeated the phalanx and I upgraded my stats slightly. Trouble is, I then went rushing into some of the other levels, got smashed up in each and every one and now have no souls left and a bunch of broken weapons. Fuck sake.

What's my course of action now? Go through that first level again, earn some souls and fix my weapons? Which level is best to tackle after the Boletarian one? I tried to get past the second Boletarian level (Phalanx Archstone?) approximately 87 times before giving up. I can't get past the first few bridge sections now I know how to time getting past those annoying dragons, but at the end of the third stretch there are three of four archers and a bastard had blue-eyed knight. I can take the archers down with one swing of the bastard sword, but the knight kills me EVERY FUCKING TIME.

I was going to play this game last night but the good lady was watch stuff on youtube so I plumped for some Tatsunoko Vs Capcom. Reason being I wanted to test my TvsC stick on my WiiU.

Well it worked fine in the Wii mode with TvsC, which wasn't really a suprise and TvsC looked really nice through the olde HDMI. I'd forgotten how much fun TvsC was, especially as some mad waggling and pressing button produced some awesome effects Also I fought the big golden lighter chappy

but with Alex and you know what e is a bit free to throws. Alex just grabs him by the legs for a big throw down and one of his supers, he grabs his head and basically does a yoga noggin on him

So that was all lovely apart from the Okami boss, but then I though I would try it with Tekken Tag on the Wii U and it seemed to work fine with a Wii remote Stick combo. Also the game play was shown on the Wii U's controller as well as the telly for stereo vision joy.

Blue Knight - Strafe around him and go for the back stab, if he tries to heal get in quick. Either that of run past him and go up the stairs before going through the fog door. If you want help with the Tower Knight post again. I think the Blue Knight is free to fire bombs, but I can't remember for sure.

You are going through the underground tunnels on this bit? Mean you don't get fried by mister nasty pants.

Upgrading your weapons is probably worth doing as you can farm the Phalanx at the beginning of 1-2 and get lots of souls from 1-1

Yes to the repairing your weapons bit, you also need to keep an eye on the amount of stuff you are carrying, Stockpile Thomas is the man here, but he also has something for you if you find a certain thing in 1-1

Have you got the ring that give you 3/4 of your health in souls form? It is well worth tracking down and can be found in 1-1.

The bit you are trying 1-2 , probably is your best bet before entering the next bits and don't forget like Dark Souls endurance is one of the best attributes to invest in.

Personally I like the Tower of Latria (the third arch stone) , tis a lovely way to die

What level are you as I am currently giving this a twiddle with a new character and have only done 1-1 and 1-2 so are soul level might be close for a bit of Jolly Co-operation?
