Your around tonight Impster?

I'm afraid not, full compliment of flatmates around, and almost certain to be internetting in the way of our game. During the daytime tomorrow or Sunday might be a good shout.

I do. Some lovely games with Mr AStar, with lots of science from the A man and lots of remedial class stuff from me. Though my highlight was the psycho crusher verses head butt moment :) and managing a banishing fist into pile driver, granted that isn't the highlight for most players but hey I meant it and it worked :)

The rest of the time a good old fashioned schooling :) but it was most fun.

And I really do like bears.

Oh sorry I had to scoot suddenly and I loved your Sagat dancing.

Psycho crusher vs headbutt was definitely a highlight, as was Sagat dancing with Dan before uppercutting him and laughing uproariously about it. Sagat is such a bully.

Sorry about the lag - there is a netflix marathon going on over here. Hopefully it will be over soon because I can only watch so much Private Practice.

The Raid wasn't better than Robocop when I saw it. I did watch a dubbed version though. Hilariously dubbed. I figured it wouldn't matter since it's all about violent punching, but it kinda did ruin the tone. The tone of punching.

I watched Style Wars last night and it was excellent. I liked that they had the same wonderful obsession with 'bubble writing' and 'adding the 3D' that everyone had back in my school days. I was bombin' those jotters.

I played something wild like 30 games of this against Mr Ali* last night. It was good. Started out ryuing-his rufus, then he rufused my ryu. Excellently, he was changing colour every match, which I meant to do and then each time just mashed on a button repeatedly and forgot. They were quite fun matches, too, with bits of adaption going on here and there. I think what really did for me was when he finally decided to stop forward jumping over my fireballs into a dragon punch, which was where all of my damage was coming from. I also landed my favourite post srk FADC j.mp juggle into ex tatsu, which always makes me happy.

Then I switched to cammy and at the same time my flatmate came in drunk and talked to me for the next 3 or 4 matches, which kind of lowered my game a bit. And then there was this maddening series of about 5 matches where they all went down to about the last hit of the last round and I lost them all and got INTENSELY salty. I also forgot how annoying it was that they gave a bloody dive kick character one of the best air to air normals in the game. I'm also blaming every single dropped combo (there were many) on the lag, and not my own ineptitude. I must figure out if cammy can do the cr.mp OS tech that ryu can do against rufus to stop him fatly dive kicking. Fat, fat rufus.

And then for some reason I went on ranked until about 2 and got intensely happy when I punished an akuma's jump back fireball with cammy ultra 1.

Yeah, Cammy is broken.

I was cackling away impishly at all those close finishes that went in my favour, remembering the mutual salt the last time we played Cammy vs Rufus. Aside from being lots of fun I think I also got a bit better at blocking on wakeup this time.

I remembered cheering when you landed that Ryu juggle, also.

I think I've identified my favourlte Rufus colours now. I think orange gives me a Spencer-like extra 5% of vitality to keep me alive just long enough to make a comeback, green gives me additional luck, and purple is of course all about charisma.

Yellow is awful.

I think I quite like yellow because it's nice and horrid. It's just the wrong colour for him. I love the green skinned Jiang Shi costume as well. I usually just go with good old pink though.

I wish Dan had some better costumes. He should have a badly-painted green skin, orange chest-wig Blanka costume.

I should probably apologise for my furious mashing every time you attempted rufus bnb. but I justify it by saying it'll somehow help you get better at the link!

oh, I totally abused the fact that I remembered you saying on here a while ago that you block crossup against ryus who do lots of crossup air tatsu. so I did the setup a few times then afterwards never did the tatsu. I must learn more Ryu tricks.

Is there a reliable method of dealing with an EX Tatsu-happy Ken player? I mean the type who don't even rely on a hard knockdown to set it up, rather just do it raw? Surely he shouldn't be able to terrorise me for free with that? :(

Also, with Cammy's dive kick pressure, should I just always block it as if it's a front-hitting attack? it's hard to get it to cross up, right? I am free to that.

Yellow is good in the original costume but in the alt 3 I just recently purchased (which is where I'm favouring green, orange or purple, which I perhaps should have specified) it is awful and also gives him a hulk hogan tan. In the alt 2 that I haven't bought I think I like the white robe with purple and green trousers (I think?). In alt 1 I like the red, as per my previous avatar.

Haggar I adapted my BnB after eating one too many uppercuts and went for st.LK, cr.MK xx tornado instead (also known as the Blanka BnB because st.HP whiffs on him), and reaped the rewards, so I guess either you helped me get better at the game or you uppercutted me into submission and accepting less damage. One of the two.

Joffo all I know about Cammy's divekick is that when Haggar does it it usually hits in front, even when she ends up landing behind you. So I try and look out for it and block normally if I see it, or watch out for a possible crossup LK if I don't see it.

I do think I've seem cross up versions of it; do they all still hit in front? I hate her. Also, if I properly safe jump and hit meaty, will it beat the startup of her Cannon Spike, of is the startup invincible? I'm useless against Cammy unless it's a stupid Spiral-Arrow-for-no-reason Cammy; there's been a fresh influx of Cammy players doing that and mashing Cannon Spike in ranked.

EDIT: Also, I just noticed that Haggar has thoroughly overtaken me in the ridiculous-number-of-posts-in-this-thread stakes. Damn. Also, I also noticed it's heiphen day for me.

Joffffffo, cannon strikes are hard to make cross up consistently, there is no canned setup so you have to time it manually. Until the cammy proves they can cross up with it regularly just block normally. Most cross ups will come after a back throw, when its usually whiff jab, step forward then time a strike just so to cross up meaty. They can also be done off an HK spiral arrow. I'll usually do one timed to hit a quick rise, and then another if they delay. These can be harder to cross up regularly since the spacing changes depending on the combo used, I think. if done right, the dive kicks should be meaty and safe against most reversals, bar blanka and DJ ex up moves, hakan u2 and probably a few other moves.

Her uppercut starts in 5 frames and is invincible, so it can be safe jumped. You won't hit her out of it though.
