We were slightly hampered by lag, especially towards the end, but had good games nonetheless. I'm not sure if the 40 games I played against Lyrical Donut's Yun/Makoto immediately beforehand helped or hindered, because it became clear almost instantly that I had forgotten how to fight Guile and Andy really made fast work of me in several rounds by throwing booms and killing me with air-to-airs I shouldn't have been jumping forward over. Other than that it kind of went how the matchup's supposed to go - in some rounds I couldn't get in and my Rufus looked totally stupid, and then on the occasions I did manage to get in I focused on getting what damage I could quickly.

Then Andy completely terrified me by switching characters halfway through! By that point the lag was getting worse so his second character sadly didn't get a lot of chances to show off as we both kind of settled into playing a lag-friendly guessing game in which I came out the fortunate victor. Anyway, like I said in my message after the fights it was a pleasure to get games with you because I don't think we've played much - if at all - in the past. Sorry to dash off after the fights, too (had to be up early this morning), but hopefully we can get some more games another time.

This means that after losing to Imp early I now get to fight Nate in losers. For a change.

Excellent stuff, sirs. I look forward to watching all of that. I think I might re-watch the entire thing so far on my day off, in case I've missed anything. Also, are any of the capture men free tomorrow to get me and Cale plus me and JLM absorbed?

I might enter the 3v3 Third Strike tournament at that Hypespotting thing in March, as well as having another failed attempt at Danning people up in AE. Though I guess I'd need two other people to fight with. There's always some plooky-domed stragglers on the fence on the day.

Also, I beat the lady at Games Champing without the need to resort to Street Fighter.

Well done Alistarr - I have updated the bracket. We always meet in these things, don't we?

So we almost have a top 8 - just three matches to go. Imp/Haggar, you're playing later today, right? When is Nuskool/Donk going down?

I have fallen sorely behind on my capturing, will see if I can get some done later today.

Yep, tonight should be a go! I got some homeplugs in the post today. They are excellent. I just tried them out in combination with the new monitor, and well, I played an Evil Ryu about 6 times and not once did I fall for cr.MK into EX overhead stomp. I'm basically invincible now.

They did say that PC players will be 'pleasantly surprised' about their price, or something. I dunno if they'll discount them for console types. They really ought to, though; if they want to breathe life back into it.

One thing that annoys me about all this DLC nonsense is that 20 years down the line when even Alistarr is getting old and we remember SFxT it will be almost impossible to get it all cobbled together to play in its proper megazord form unless we've kept the old xbox.

Sorry to hear about people having leaks and stuff... Our shed flooded and my collection of Edge mags (from #1 onwards) has been damaged. Bit gutted.

Oh I got Sonic transformed... Really good fun but am I crap as I'm finding A class a tad difficult.

Yes, joffio, it will be pants. Even worse will be when loads of games are rendered unplayable by things like servers going down and whatnot. what happens in a few years time when live for the 360 is switched off and loads of games just wild about because there's no connection available or something. It'll all be such a mess.

ggs Alistarr, most enjoyable games and a welcome relief from slogging away on ranked - not played many Rufi before so would welcome some more games when you're on live again.

It's certainly tough once the tubby fella gets in on Guile, so many setups for the Ultra too - maybe I should have asked Santa to bring me one for Guile :D

Shame by the end it was such a lagfest - I'm looking forward to seeing the replay where Ryu's jmp Ultra ended up as jmp...........whiffed DP

Really getting on with Yang at the minute; doing FADC combos off his Rekkas is very satisfying even if the timing seems incredibly tight compared to other FADC combos. I've only landed his Ultra off a focus cancel once in an actual match so far. If anyone has a Zangief I'd love to play them some time because my friend eats my Yang for breakfast.

What an excellently suggestive closing sentence. I have a horrible Zangief, but I'd be happy to fight you. JLM has a far more cunning Zangief and is definitely worth playing also. There's that Mestizo guy; his Zangief was ridiculous. Where'd he go?
