I watched the first bit of the festive Excellent Adventures just now and it was wonderful. The Adon who fought Gootecks was everything that is bad about online Adon players, and is why I have nothing but nice things to say about Imp's. Mike Ross face cam during the final round of the episode was magical.

That inset cam was brilliant if only to see Mike look away in disappointment when gootecks got knocked down. :D

I still haven't seen the Blaqskillz/Online Tony thing yet, but going by the comments Mr.Skillz doesn't get much stick time :( bit of a shame as I liked the earlier Deejay tutorial videos he did...

Would anyone be interested in the Marvel branded PDP fightpad for Xbox 360? The only problem is the RT button on the top right is fucked. It's not even the plastic which is broken and can be glued, the microswitch is fubar. I suppose it could be fixed if someone is deft enough with a soldering iron. The rest of the pad works fine and is amazing nick, I'm not sure why that button decided to break.

Anyway, I know most of you are stick types but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone was interested.

andygt I have spied you popping online and off again a couple of times but never long enough to get out of my game and suggest we play our match. I'm around all day today but after that will probably have to arrange in advance as when I'm not on holiday I have a habit of going to bed around the time that normal people start to play videogames!

Haha, very sporting.

I'm currently riding my luck in a 7 game win streak against a Fei who must be the saltiest person on the planet right now. Every round has gone to the last possible hit for each of us, and most of them he should have won.

I'm having some Chun Mee tea, listening to a 'jazz' playlist on Last FM and competing for the Games Champ title with the lady. Street Fighter is banned. Phase 10 first then Mario Party 9, Carcassone, Peggle, Scene It, Monopoly, Worms and Boom Street. I'm still reelling from a recent 3-2 defeat on Puzzle Fighter.

I'm boring.

Alistarr, I should be on later tonight around half 9 ten ish (gf permitting)

I was going to send a game request yesterday but spent the whole time trying to get a decent connection as my router decided to forget my port forwarding settings but should be sorted now.

Great games - I actually won with Yun! Then I lost with Yun, so went with Makoto twice and that didn't really work out too well, pretty close stuff though. Next up was Seth, I picked Seth to shit Nate up lots. Did it work? Did it fuck. I didn't even get a chance to get out any utterly pointless meter wasting combos either. I figured I had to go with Rog for my last pick, because Blanka. I took another game here, but then fatly failed to keep my momentum and lost the following match. I did get a raggo mid-match taunt out in that last one though.

Congratunathans, then. If you make it far enough PLEASE pick Guile against JLM, thanks.

Ah well, I'm happy to act as a testing partner for a couple of games first if need be! Yes, that should be fine for me. I'll get on with my ironing now so I'm available then :-)

Don't hate me if I rush off immediately after the tournament games though - got to be up for work tomorrow for the first time in weeks...

Happy new year you guys.

I cannot quite believe I won that set. After I lost the first I feared a 5-0 was on the cards and it could easily have gone that way. Every match swung on tiny little moments.

There was Makoto stunning me and dashing me towards the corner, only for my frantically mashed ultra to come out just before an incoming focus attack connected. There was a wakeup MP SRK against a Seth cross up that autocorrected and got me out of a vortex. There was almost a Guile theme Seth comeback including a backdash away from my shameful wakeup EX SRK, then another knockdown and another backdash that was caught by a wakeup EX Tatsu.

So, yeah, an awful lot of hype and a great deal of luck; the only real change I made to my game was a conscious effort to avoid EX Tatsu combos and go for simple punishes instead. I will update the bracket forthwith and look forward to losing to whoever in the next round.

Imp when we gonna play blud. I need to stop holding up the bracket.

Also I'm still not dressed, but episode two of the walking dead has kept me entertained and has got me through most of my hangover. It's really an excellent hangover game, nice and slow placed and relaxing music. I can't wait to find out what's in the barn!
