Looks like she has resigned herself to the fact we're not going to her sister's. So I'll have to race to Tesco when I finish work and hope they have something on the shelves. ffs. Findus crispy pancakes for christmas dinner I reckon. I've been guzzling my collection of delicious beers over the weekend too, not realising I'd need to save a few. Oh well, christmas at home will be nice for a change. Hopefully we can just ignore our neighbour giving us evils through the kitchen window.

I picked up Arcade edition of this in the Steam sale as it's the only game I miss playing online since cancelling 360 gold. Anyone else playing it on PC? Add me (same as user name). Also got Tekken v SF which I've played a handful of times but seem reasonably okay at. Great playing it on the big telly with my fightpad too.

I had to miss our company christmas bash this year because I was at a wedding. Probably a good thing, as I have made an arse of myself on several occasions at these things. The best* one was at some hotel in somewhere awful like Slough or something. As the party was winding down, me and this new girl were sat drinking in the bar and asked the barman what time they are serving until. "Until you stop ordering", he foolishly said. Seizing the challenge, we continued ordering drinks and stayed up until the morning. When everyone started coming down for breakfast, she went off 'to change' (to pass out in her room). I stupidly went and sat down for breakfast, ordered a full english with, yes, another glass of whiskey please. The breakfast was a bit salty**. As people (including directors and so on) were coming in refreshed from their evening slumber, I was sat there absolutely fucked, whiskey in hand telling them to try the spunky mushrooms.

As this was day 2 of a conference (which our xmas bashes used to be a part of), I then had to sit through a load of conference meetings, speeches and so on.

Yes, I am a dickhead.

* most godfuckingawfully dreadful

Oh, I brought some nice big Hofbrauhaus mugs back from Munich and I will be guzzling down frothing bavarian beer this evening alongside a cheeseboard and A Christmas Story. I almost feel like a grown up.

Excellent. I had smoky beer yesterday. Also limited edition Naked Ladies, which is a partnership creation between Twickenham brewery (where Naked Ladies is normally brewed) and some Belgian brewery. Basically, they supplied the recipe and the Belgian brewery used their local ingredients. It's gorgeous.

Jen being ill means we probably won't get to her sister's for Christmas which is a real shame as a load of her French family will be over and they are all excellent.

Her mum is Colombian and particularly ace. One day her and Jen's dad were out on his boat (only a little thing; he does kneelboarding) and she suddenly started freaking out. 'There's a dog in the water! Someone has thrown a dog overboard! A dog with no ears! Quick! We must rescue it!'

So they turned the boat around and headed back to the area where she spotted this 'dog with no ears'.

They decided not to rescue the sealion.

Haha, this is the exact opposite of my mate Jimbo. We were in Cornwall and he went out on a boat trip to see the seals with a few others (we stayed on land drinking pitchers of cider). When he got back we asked him if he enjoyed it.

"Well, it was alright. But... they're just wet dogs really."

We envisaged him setting up a business back in Sheffield, throwing dogs in the river. A painted sign, SEE THE SEALS £5.

Ggs Imp. I forgot everything I learned about Akuma vs Adon and Jellum vs Imp last time for the first two games there. It was not good, and that lovely new combo does far too much damage to poor Akuma. I got back into the swing of it after a few games though. Blocked jumping MK - > Low parry with Gouken is Imp specific tech. I'll add that to my smartphone notes. Favourite match was the Cody mirror, or The Battle For The Knife, as history will tell it.

Yes, that was excellent fun! He who knifes wins. I was much happier with the footsies in Ak vs Ad this time, as properly spaced standing MK will actually stuff that annoyingly good far standing HK of Akuma's. Also landing standing HP is my favourite thing. Such a satisfying 'no you don't' button when you do a good read. Rose vs Guile was a highlight for me as well. I'm pretty average using her, but I do so love confirming into her super.
