Ultra Street Fighter IV

JLM

It is funny how that works out sometimes. For me in a lot of cases it's how intuitive the timing feels rather than how long the window is, so there are definitely some "easier" combos I drop more frequently than other more difficult ones. What Haggar said up there is the truth.

In this instance though, I think it's the too good thing. Also that Adon combo you do with the close standing MP into cr. MP: I don't play Adon enough, so when I went into the lab to give that a go I found that his close standing MP makes NO SENSE. Such a weird, laggy move, but it doesn't have the same hit stun as Gouken's and Dan's. Really bizarre.

Haha, I don't play Gouken or Dan enough to notice! I've stopped doing that combo though, as the one above is much more damaging (291 damage! That's better than combos using fierce) as it means you get both hits of RJ. Also it's a really nice frame trap. And apparently now makes me look like a boss for regularly busting out the old one framer.

Bodied; and all the rivers of the earth turned to blood.

Sith 5 - 0 Strawdonkey

It wasn't quite as disgusting as I had feared - Sith's Terence is a lot more patient than the ones I've been meeting in ranked, who like walking forward and pressing buttons a lot. That said, I lost the first four 2-0, won my first (and only) round in the fifth and choked when it came to possibly winning a second.

Any other result would have been a joke :) GGs, Merry Christmas and best of luck for the rest of the torunament.

Good games sir! if you'd have picked U1 things could have been different, with U2 I can just keep diving in really. Some nice Rose links you have there :)

More importantly tonight I learned;

I don't know how to taunt!

Don't know any of Cody, C.Viper or Oni's moves.

The randoms were good fun mate and yet again showcased my lack of talent with anyone other than the Hawkster! Merry Christmas to you too :)

This just popped up on the Daily Deals for Steam - Complete pack for £8. I caved, obviously.

My Steam Name is PanyanPickle and my GFWL is RemainingPine21. I'd welcome a few games with you fine people :-)

I've sent over a friend request, but I'm temporarily in the land of dreadful internet so please don't hold it against me if we try to play in the next couple of days and it doesn't go well! Once I get back home my internet will be amazing again.

Sadly I have no links! Anything more impressive than c.MP x Spiral was sheer fluke. As for the U2 choice, I don't trust it against characters who can alter their trajectory in the air - as you saw from me trying to punish jump-ins with c.HP, you need to be hitting the button at about the same time as the trajectory changes, which throws off your timing and positioning. I guess it stops you from diving to close distance though :)

Randoms were great, though I actually started picking random straight after our FT5 (before I messaged you), and it gave me... Rose. Doh!

I totally bought Street Fighter on steam again and gifted it away already, to someone who'll never play it. Excellent. £9 for the game and all the DLC.

I kinda think I might have an arcade stick for christmas, because there's a TE sized box under the tree for me. I'll be back tomorrow feigning enthusiasm for my new 4-slice toaster.

I'm at work right now. It is nightmarishly busy as well. Hateful. I have festive snacks aplenty though. I am spending all my waking hours trying to work out a counterpick for chun li in my head. I might have to play JLM in an FT100 some time soon.

I did manage an option select with Dan in our casuals though; just an EX gadouken. Also, I'd specifically tried to learn the spacing for cr.mk x EX Gadouken > Ultra 1 because it might well work brilliantly against Dudley, but I didn't get the opportunity.

Someone just told me that Jez was playing the Mega Drive version of Street Fighter in last night's Peep Show. What.

Oh bugger, knew I forgot to watch something last night.

So, I'm just going to waffle on in here. There's a hilarious crow at the bus stop I go to every morning. I think its nest must be near the stop somewhere because every morning it hops up and down along the roof of the bus stop ranting at all the humans passing below. I can't be bothered making an Angry Birds joke. Anyway, this morning it was hopping about again but in silence. I like to think the festive spirit is causing the crow to think twice about what it is doing with its life. I'm not going to the bus stop tomorrow, but I bet it will be wearing a little santa hat.

Our neighbour had a little party last night to which we were invited. On Saturday, we put a card through her door in which we thanked her for the invite and also added, 'see you then!'

Yesterday Jen started feeling really rough and by the evening had full blown flu. So we didn't go to the party. Which was awkward because there was a whole, 'you're not at our party but we can see you in your kitchen' thing going on. I was considering turning out all the lights. Another option would have been to knock and say, 'hey, we're not coming after all!' but that would have also been awkward. So we just styled it out. I'll explain next time I see her. Here is a picture of our kitten.

Jen being ill means we probably won't get to her sister's for Christmas which is a real shame as a load of her French family will be over and they are all excellent.

Her mum is Colombian and particularly ace. One day her and Jen's dad were out on his boat (only a little thing; he does kneelboarding) and she suddenly started freaking out. 'There's a dog in the water! Someone has thrown a dog overboard! A dog with no ears! Quick! We must rescue it!'

So they turned the boat around and headed back to the area where she spotted this 'dog with no ears'.

They decided not to rescue the sealion.
