I played Skyrim for a bit. I spent a while picking a man then I ran through a dull set piece with a dragon in it before punching some guards with my bear hands while some other fella sworded them. I picked up a broom then turned it off without saving. 10/10.

You picked the manbearpig class then?

I've not looked into the character changes in SFxT, but reading some of the overall system changes it does sound good; most importantly throws being sped up by two frames and, wildly, eliminating your opponent recoverable damage too. They could be really dangerous now. Hegg will be delighted.

Pandora's active time has been increased from seven seconds to ten as well and, more importantly, the character coming in after the sacrifice starts closer to the opponent than before, so there should be a load more viable ways to link it into a pretty devastating combo. I hope we see more of it; it's a pretty interesting risk/reward mechanic but it always seemed a lot more like suicide. But fun. Fungicide.

Have they set a date for it? Patching in megaman for the xbox version would be nice. :(

Wow, that is wild. How exciting!

I wonder what it means for those three bar, double team supers, though? That was their primary purpose before and now they'll just seem like a huge waste of meter. I guess it lets you confirm and also safely tag? I dunno. What a confusing mess balancing also those contradictory systems, plus gems, must be.

Did Nate's extra special gossip about SFxT ever see the light of day on the website/magazine? Or is it being saved for 2013's release (not that it really deserves a full Edge write up, guess, seeing as its audience will be a fraction of the people who bought it the first time round).

I came home for Christmas last night, only to find my poor ma bed-ridden with norovirus, so I played Streetfighter for hours and hours. A chunk of that time was spent fighting AndyGT, starting with our tournament games:

JLM 5-0 AndyGT

And then thirty or so games after that.

GGs, and l do let me know if you want more games/pointers etc sir.

Also played lots of games against assorted endless battlers, ending with a really fun set against a Swedish gent named frittblas. He has a very tricky Yang, and I sent him nice complimentary messages for sticking with him in v.2012, which he appreciated. Lots of great mix ups and varied pressure to keep me guessing, plus he had exceptional spacing and loads of really clever set ups to make me whiff normals so he could punish with MK into rekkas. He'd get a knockdown, then do a set up with a whiffed normal as if for a safe jump, but instead he'd use it to set up a situation where if I got up and did anything but block I'd either whiff a reversal, walk into cr.MK or whiff something and get whiff punished with cr. MK. Kyoko/Best The Birds is the master of this, and Yang's ground game is still really strong even if they took away almost everything else. Also this guy had excellent set ups based around making jumping MK cross up, and I was never looking for it because that's extremely difficult to do in this version. I really do love seeing Yang played well. Such clinical spacing.

We traded wins in Dudley vs Yang for a bit, then I switched to Sakura and got murdered, then he switched to Sakura and we both tried to do all of our fanciest Sakura stuff instead of winning, which was excellent. Then he switched to Dudley but I beat him up with Sakura quite badly so he went back to Yang and I went back to Dudley and we traded wins back and forth again. I think Dudley does alright against the twins; his standing jab and standing fierce can swat dive kicks, he has enough life to withstand a couple of wrong guesses and he has the raw damage output to capitalise on their low health. I think he's one of the few who would rather fight Yun than Yang in 2012 though. Yang has much better footsies and doesn't tend to approach with dive kicks as often, and anyone with a good walk speed and strong cr. MK is annoying for Dudders.

Clayfighter.

I've been playing tons of this over the last couple of days. Didn't invest a huge amount of time into playing AE 2012 but am finally back into the swing of things, in preparation for the rest of the RLLMUK tournament.

Good: PP has peaked at 1000+! BP at 2000+

Bad: Free to T. Hawk

Ugly: Playing a Terence player in next round of WBO :(
