Me and Donut just did a share and capture session, so I'm just converting the raw files now, then I'll compress and upload them (although that could take time so it might not be ready until tomorrow.) It looked like they came out okay but if you see it go dark for a brief moment in one match that's the 360's idle mode kicking in :facepalm: Stay tuned!

I just watched it back and it's pretty good. It's also pretty bad. It's got everything really - joffo focusing lots, just fucking do its, godlike reactions, dash up ultras (because Joffo just can't resist reacting to someone dashing up at him) and some of the scrubbiest play you'll see this year.

It's got combos too.

edit - I think I did an option select too. Sorry.

Well, that's me out. Cracking match though, and I was happy to sneak one back at 4-0. Moderately pleased with some of my play, although Nate out-poked me and jumped all over Rose like a gypsy trampoline*, and I employed my usual trick of being completely unable to close down a round at the death.

Apologies for not joining the lobby after Donut - couldn't connect with your invite and my flatmate was back with more of his endless romantic woes so I thought best to make sympathetic noises at him.

Clipmeisters, I have saved all my strawdonkey matches and made a channel - maybe work something out tomorrow eve for that and the Nate match?

*this should be sung to the tune of "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves"

Sorry about the mic. That's Kinect, even though I have Kinect chat set to off. That thing is so needy.

Anyway, ended 5-1 to me. Good close rounds and I was genuinely worried Joe had me figured out towards the end, but I have too much experience of Rose v Ken because Cale, and I think that made the difference.

Also Donut is doing ridiculous Seth things right now. I am sticking with Ken all night.

Qazimod, you may have already answered this but what do you use to cap the matches?

The hardware's just a Hauppauge HD PVR - it was hooked up to a cheap HP desktop (Pentium E5300) I bought specifically for capture and editing, but now I've got a better i7 that I'm using for all of my PC hobbies. Raw capture is done with the bundled software (ArcSoft Total Media Extreme), but I also convert to a slightly lower-quality AVI to drop the file size a bit (Leawo AVI converter, freeware) and also to allow it to be imported into Windows Movie Maker if I think that further compression is necessary (Movie Maker lets you export movies to a specific file size, so if I wanted to compress a five-match set to 1MB, I could try...)

I'm also a Hauppauge HD PVR owner and I have to say, even though it is very light it an awesome piece of kit for the money (about £130). You will need a component cable to get the best out of it though and if you own a Mac you will need to purchase a separate piece of software to be able to use it (though it is written by a Hauppauge employee and is very good). I think they also do an HDMI version too now.

GGs to Camel also; what a ridiculously late hour to be playing Streetfighter. Thirty fun games of me impatiently rushing down Dhalsim and trying to do the fanciest thing possible when I got in because Dhalsim can't do much about it. Apologies for the fraudulent Dhalsim mirrors win; if it's any consolation, I've lost Chun mirrors against the worst Chuns in ranked before. I am absolutely gutted I didn't stop to record the replay of the first Juri vs. Sim match we had, as the corner combo I did in the second round is the nicest one I've done with her in a match.

Jumping roundhouse - > crouching MP - > release MK Fuhajin - > crouching MK - > release LK Fuhajin - > crouching MK - > Roundhouse pinwheel - > FADC - > close standing MP - > EX Pinwheel.

Sad.

I did get this pleasingly meter-wastey Gouken juggle recorded though. I love how you can freestyle his corner combos and everything just works:

Nate, what happens when we can't connect?

When a couple are struggling to connect sometimes it can help to try new things together, or maybe just new places. This is the same advice I gave to Joffo and JLM a long time ago, and things seem to have worked out between them.

I could be around until my 10pm bedtime this evening if you want to see if doing it in someone else's lobby helps.

I have Donut next round :( I mentioned it was character lock and that you have to pick Yun and also Seth is banned, right?

I have also thought about what Haggar and Camel should do if they can't connect, and in descending order of preference:

1. Try in a lobby hosted by someone else

2. Meet up IRL

3. Each of you lists the multiplayer Xbox 360 games that you own, and the thread collectively chooses a game that you both own that you play instead

4. Coin toss

5. I am all out of ideas.
