I love that in the Dark Souls II thread, the EDGE article has been posted online from an early subscription copy, so Nate posted his disapproval with a sadface smiley. I'm guessing people have interpreted that as "I have read the article and am unhappy with the direction of the series," and have given him mad reputation POINTS for it.

Also there is a hilarious non Blanka vs Dhalsim fight going on between Gerbik and Yasawas. The phrase "wretched hive of negativity" is super effective on the Dutch it seems.

Why can't we all get along.

I gave you sympathy rep as I understood the sad smiley. Also the scans wheren't that good.

Not even waiting to upload it until it is out in the shops is a tad harsh, even then :(

And we also have a thread lamenting the loss of two print magazines, hmmmm.

Hopefully tomorrow. If not, Tuesday. Either way, I haven't played since heggfest and mike wild is learning anti-Dhalsim option selects. It's not going to go well for me :(

I did get some Xbox time late last night but wasted it beating JLM's Sonic Kart time on precisely one track.

I've not even tried time attack yet. My one Grand Prix saw me finish with a time third last on my friends list also. I'm too tempted to go through world tour mode unlocking stuff. Some of it is pretty difficult, but mostly because I'm not familiar enough with the tracks. I started with Ulala and once she was levelled up changed to Amigo, and now I'm using NiGHTS, but he/she's got an annoying voice. I do love how brilliantly creepy NiGHTS is as a vehicle though.

I also feel a lot of the music is lost on me since I was a nintendo kid. The NiGHTS theme when going all star was lovely though. Also, the music is far too quiet; I put it too 100 and everything else to 60 and I still want it to be louder.

I also want boring, repressed Ryo back.

Good news: I've fixed the rllmuk youtube channel to allow uploads of videos that are longer than 15 minutes.

Bad news: when I signed in before doing this I got a warning message saying the account's Google+ profile was being looked into for not being a real person, and warning that either we do something about it or it gets shut down. I think this only applies to the Google+ bit not the youtube bit though, so maybe whoever is in charge wants to just remove the Google+ account bit? Not sure how it works, but there's an email in the Gmail inbox explaining it.

Excellent games Imp and Allystah.

The comeback at the end of the very first round is pretty ridiculous. Nice work.

Also I went along to the weekly fighting games thing in Leeds today. They were running an end of year tournament and I spent the first half of the day binge eating at the German Christmas market, so I was mostly there to spectate and check out the venue. It's a nice little set up, with one massive screen and then four smaller ones, and it's inside a cafe so you can get food and drinks on site. From what I saw there were some solid players and everyone seemed very friendly. I only chatted to a couple of people because they had a lot of games to get through, but they were nice and welcoming.

The two strongest players from this first showing were a Balrog player with nice combos and a good throw/counter hit game and a Honda with lots of lovely piano hands combos. Aside from that I saw another Balrog, another Honda, a Bison, a Sakura, a Cody, a Vega, an Abel and a Cammy. I only saw little snippets of the Marvel play, but one of the guys had some outrageous Doom combos going on and there was a Nova player doing lots of murdering. Nova has to be one of the loudest fighting game characters ever. I don't notice it when I'm watching streams, but in this environment with five set ups all running at about the same volume and a dozen or so people chatting away, the only game sound you could hear clearly and consistently was Nova shouting his way through his matches. YA LIKE THAT? BRING IT! POWER OF THE NOVA FORCE! What a guy.

I managed to get a handful of casuals in against the Cammy player (the monitors are a bit laggier than mine but I won all but one of them), but I mostly stayed out of the way because one guy was running two tournaments at the same time and he probably didn't need randoms using the set ups. I will go back in January and try to fight everyone and report my findings.

I need to get online so somone can capture me and cale fightan. Also I failed to beat JLM, Camel or Plopboy's Sonic time. I even went as far as copying their character choice of Metal Sonic (with the Genesis mod). I am a failure. Satisfying though. I haven't figured out whether several small boosts or some level 3 boosts are best.

If you see me online just invite me to your lobby and we can get some moving pictures recorded.

Hmm I've been wondering the same thing. I think it is better to keep a good line and see what sort of boost you get.

Excellent; I will do that sir; though my connection has been eaten up with a looooad of photo uploads the past few nights.

Also, I bought one of those wee kidrobot toys and it turned out to be a blue blanka with orange hair. I will send it to the tournament's eventual winner, even though he doesn't use Blanka any more.
