I agree with that. Damn pixar.

Also, No Space Station Silicon Valley: Silicolony no sale.

I hope they make a metroid game with the map on the bottom screen at all times so I can see eactly where I'm about to backtrack to. I like metroid games. You backtrack to places before you even get there in the first place. Also; I dunno why people have such a problem with backtracking. It's the best thing.

Imagine four players playing unirally on the TV while you sit on the gamepad drawing the most insane and infuriating track possible ahead of them with the stylus. Also; dropping caltops and that toxic goo from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I have managed to resist the temptation to buy one by just using the work one. It's nice, I think, but I suspect I'd be enjoying it a bit more if I didn't have to stop playing with it every 20 minutes or so to go and write something. We're doing a live review, you see: http://www.edge-online.com/features/wii-u-uk-launch-live-review/

It's coming home with me for the weekend, though, once again for work but I fully intend to have some fun with it.

I tweeted it, I think. You follow me don't you? You'd better. I follow you.

If anyone wants to sign up and leave comments that'd be great, it's a bit dead today. problem with doing this on launch day is that everyone who's got a Wii U is off playing with it rather than discussing it on the internet. We'd have done it earlier but Nintendo's NDA really was quite something, even stricter than that one Hegg makes me sign in blood before Heggfest.

I follow Nate but he doesn't follow me and I'm really upset about it.

I just sent that edge link round to a bunch of my friends who can't afford a Wii U either. Hopefully when I do get to buy one it won't require that chunky old update.

Oh and yes, Nintendo really are quite serious about their NDAs.

I just forget which bits I need to backtrack to, which means that I gain a new ability and then take ages to remind myself how it can be of any use. I could only finish Symphony of the Night (and not even finish finish; I only managed to defeat the end boss in the inverted castle, not get 200.6% or whatever) by writing notes like "that bit over on that side of the map is inaccessible because I haven't found the shop that sells the Jewel of Open yet."

Basically, I want more symbols on my map. Or just the ability to add my own random annotations.

They're all discussing it on Miiverse

Haggar if it makes you feel any better about being in a tony carvery I completely squandered a trip to meat liquor yesterday trying the buffalo chicken burger that Rllmuk folk love so much. It tasted of vinegar and vinegar alone. I'm never trusting the opinion of anyone outside of this thread again.

That's good to hear Haggs! The health thing, not the carvery.

Off-topic but I actually played some Street Fighter while not horribly drunk for the first time in ages. Trying out Rose's U1, more useful than U2 but slightly less fun. Also I played an American guy called PeeOnTheDead.

Also I think I might go and get a kebab. So fat today.

Things:

Good news on Haggs Snr. All my best wishes to you and yours, Mr Mayor.

I love Rose's ultra 1. It's not the best for flashy flash but it's so satisfying to catch someone with it. Plus it does, y'know, shed loads of damage.

I was in Telford on Wednesday night but saw absolutely no Street Fighting. Poor.

There's always talk of Roguelikes in mags and general discussion about games but all it did was remind me that I love Rogue so I've started playing it again. Sadly only on my iPhone which isn't the best medium at all but it's (just about) better than nothing. If ever a game needed a keyboard it's Rogue. And Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Sorry Haggar, amidst the Wii U nonsense I omitted to wish your old man the best. My Dad had one six or seven years ago and it was the making of him really, saw it as a wakeup call and he got his act together swiftly. For a while anyway, he drinks a bit too much for my liking these days. The 5am call to let me know was the worst, though, and I still freak out at people for ringing me too late at night or early in the morning.

Glad he's on the mend, anyway, and I hope you started drinking and didn't stop until you forgot you were in a Toby carvery. Normally the best response to this sort of thing, I find.

Glad things are improving Haggle. :)

On topic, I tried to get my nephew to play MvC3 on the Vita today, since the "Touch" mode basically allows you to rapidly tap the touchscreen for wild auto-combos that lead into Hypers. He seemed to be doing pretty well until he started pressing the home button and suspending the game... :hmm:

Are Toby carveries like Bernie Inns? I'm feeling very old at the moment.

In other news I can't connect to Live at the moment because I can't download whatever the latest update is and you can't use Live until you do. Never had this sort of thing with the 360 before.

E: forget that. It suddenly works. :)
