Going off topic for a bit, I'm thinking of taking up fei long, since I'm currently really into tier-whoring. the main reason for this is that my execution is still utter ass, and learning to get the rekka series out consistently will probably help this. I miss far too many cancels/divekicks/ultras due to sloppy quarter circles and generally lacklustre stickmanship, and playing fei will either help or exacerbate this. also I think fei is one of the few characters who isn't repped by anyone on the forum. Also I can call him fey.

That said, someone tell me how to play fei long, bearing in mind that I'm not mago.

Got my SC5 stick, however I'm having issues with configuring on the PC SF4.

I goto button config and change the layout however, I can never choose the button config and it just resorts back to being the default SC5 button layout.

Can anyone help please?.

There was talk on a recent WSO stream about that stick - people just opened it up and rewired the buttons to match the TE stick layout.

The wires should be connected to the buttons via "quick disconnect" plugs that just pop on and off without tools. There are two going to each button but it doesn't matter which of the two wires goes to which of the two contacts. Don't faff around moving the buttons themselves, just unplug the wires from the two buttons you want to swap and plug them in where you want to swap them.

The original TE opened via allen key screws on the top panel. There are screws on the underside that have "warranty void if removed" stickers over them, but you didn't actually need to unscrew anything on the bottom to get at the innards - just unscrew the top panel and lift it up. Not sure if the SC5 stick is the same but Google should be able to help you out if you're at all unsure.

They'll be pretty firm but if they're quick disconnects the most you should need is gentle plier pressure. Try about 3:20 into this video for what I'm assuming you're looking at:

The button contacts are prongs, and the wire contacts are folded copper that's the right size to slip on and off the contacts, with a plastic cover to protect them once they're connected.

Basically pull back any covers that are protecting the wire ends, then use pliers/fingers to pull the wires free.

If what you're looking at doesn't look like that, your stick is not made they way I think it's made so don't act on this advice without further research!

Do you have a small flat head screwdriver to hand? You could try gently prising them before attempting to disconnect them, then use some pliers to gently bend them back as they were once they're re-mapped.

Failing that, if it's like a TE, the wires from the buttons should lead to a block near the pcb which has each button labelled - you can rewire it at that end without having to touch the buttons at all. This is all pure assumption on my part though, as i've never seen the inside of one of those sticks. Can you take a pic?

Here's what the block looks like on the TE (to the right)

Infiltration's top 10 characters (in no particular order):

Rufus

Ibuki

Cammy

Seth

Adon

Akuma

C. Viper

Yun

Sagat

Fei Long

Pretty solid choices I reckon. I'd have Sakura either in that list or at number 11, but otherwise I'd agree with it.

Posted this in that madcatz thread in the bargains folder. Thought I'd stick (ha) it here in case anyone was interested.

Just opened up my pro fightsticks which arrived today. They are definitely lighter than the TE but to call them pathetic and cheap is a bit silly really. The build quality still seems really good and they certainly feel solid but they don't have the same tank-like quality of the TE. Definitely more chunky than the SE. The shape is good, being thinner than the TE with a nice sloped front. The stick and buttons are the same as the TE so performance wise there should be no difference at all.

*whispers* I quite like the artwork.
