Ultra Street Fighter IV

Haha, how sporting of him. He's learned to be a gracious winner but not quite got the other bit down yet. Which character did he use? Was it Adon? I like to profile Adon players who aren't Gamerbee as dickheads.

Also I have been watching those Air and Behrudy science-fests, though in truth it's mostly because AirBehr Dojo is the greatest name they could have chosen for their show.

The thing is, the tech they show off in them is really nice, but they don't seem to have an understanding of why the mechanics work. I'm pretty sure I've not heard them mention hitstop or anything, which is the whole reason that option selects work in the first place, nor indeed chains out prioritising all other buttons.

It does look like it'll let him murder dhalsim though. safejump J.hk, OS hurricane kick, then input your blockstring with the backdash OS stuck in there as well.

I think Air has a great understanding of how and why option selects work, and it's why he's come up with so many good ones. Your buffered, option selected move won't come out if your character is busy hitting the opponent/having his attack blocked. Focus back dashing is a problem because it fulfils the criteria of giving you something to hit but provides the escape of a back dash at the same time. I think he explains that pretty clearly without needing to specifically use the term hitstop, which nobody really uses anyway and would probably confuse people further.

I think in these videos he does assume things about what the audience already knows though, and the show needs to decide whether or not it wants to be welcoming to newcomers or just deal in next level trickery. Episode 1 covering trade OS ultras and then doing OS 101 (which wasn't as beginner friendly as the name suggests) in episode 2, makes me think they're not sure what they want to do with it. Either way I'll keep watching them though.

I also find it funny how complicated all of these things can be made to sound as soon as you try to explain them. Trade OS ultra is an extremely simple concept. I saw it done once, knew exactly how it worked and I expect I'll hit one in a lobby with Dudley soon, but trying to articulate instantly seems to make it a million times more complicated.

Yeah, he could definitely do a better job of explaining things, and again I think they both need to be a bit clearer about what they're trying to do and who exactly they're talking to each episode. More direction and focus would be great. They'll get the hang of it I'm sure, and I think it's also a case of them just being a bit too enthusiastic about the new toys they're coming up with and rushing to get the video out when they're still tinkering with the concept themselves.

Also Donut you should do more swanky Hayate cancel combos. I know you have the execution, plus it would make your hayate cancel karakusa mix ups even more devastating if I'm used to seeing the cancels all the time anyway.

I've tried st.mp after st.hp xx HC and I can never get it consistently. I think Goemon said the timing was harder since AE too :(

I could spend weeks in training mode getting it down, but I probably shouldn't.

Well, tag was id POONGKO, and a quick Youtube search reveals that his tag was Id POONGKO (it's now TH POONGKO according to the leaderboards)

3700 PP, 3600 BP Cammy, not much fancy going on, and I almost won. Played them again and they used Seth (9k BP). I got bodied, but that's pretty much par for the course with me against Seths anyway.

It's probably his mum's account or something.

I remember I accidentally changed my region to Japan when trying to get the Bayonetta demo early. :( Wasn't such a big deal until I forgot how to change it back. And then friends called me out and said I was just trying to show off by pretending to be Japanese or something. :hmm: Region Fighter.

That's some amazing Waxin' up there. I like it.

I've no internet yet. I finished Mark of the Ninja and it was excellent. I've gone back through to get the 'hings. I'm pretty confident that if the game had somehow been released about 18 years ago I'd still be going on and on about how it's the best game ever.

I also completed Toe Jam and Earl. Brilliantly the ladychum died right before the last ship part, so I stole all the glory. YES.

I finished that 9 hours, 9 japanese cartoon people, 9 green bottles for a second time and it was good. Not as good as people like to pretend they think it is, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the "true" ending, then repeat my opinion.

In two weeks that is already triple the number of games I've finished than in the entire time since SSFIV's launch.

Bayonetta is good. You can do wild combos and stuff but I never got very good at it because the game let me just press buttons too much. Maybe I should replay it on hard so I get all punished and stuff. God Hand was good at stopping my mashy habits pretty early on.

I tried playing Halo Anniversary to see if I could justify buying Halo 4, but I simply was not enjoying myself. Plus it is very ugly and I'm shallow.

I really want to play Street Fighter. I might just training room it.
