I still think pressing towards + jab repeatedly with Cinder is the best strategy though. It was in KI1 on the SNES anyway. AWESOME COMBO.

I missed out on the SNES back in the day (we tended to go for one console per generation until we started paying for our own stuff) but I played a bit of KI on emulation and I did that a lot with Cinder. I loved how the flame had different ranges so you could do a short one to bait a mistake. :D I think my main was Orchid for all of the stupid backflip-kicks and cartwheels that you could just mash in the corner - I remember some dude on Gamesmaster busting some wild Orchid tech in one challenge...although I think I just mashed whatever moves seemed to work. :(

I loved GamesMaster enough to have downloaded all of it recently, it's nice to know someone was archiving all this important stuff. There's a Tekken special with Ryan Hart filmed when he was 18 but looking about twice as old as he does now at 2:45 -

Also the Dave Perry/Mario 64 incident always amuses -

Oh lord.

I have a cable to connect a PS3 controller to my phone. If only I had the brass neck to get on the train with my GNex, a wee homemade stand for it and my Qanba stick I could play Third Strike to and from work like I've always dreamt.

It only seems to work with one specific SFIII rom with an equally specific filename. Took me about six different downloads to find that one out... Buttons work fine and it allows you (as with the CPS2 emu) to bring up the cabinet options - coins, sound test, free play, all that jazz. Emu options are slight at best - some screen/scanline toggles and the chance to use hardware buttons and... that's it. Nothing to allow you to make changes to the on-screen joypad, which has a hellishly annoying vibrate on every button press.

Yet to try with the SixAxis, but if it goes along the same lines as the CPS2 app, then there should be no problem. And being Final Burn it also runs NeoGeo roms as well (plus a grip of other arcade chipsets).

Sneaky Ibuki edit: Found that you can disable the on-screen joypad and use the SixAxis as a replacement for the hardware button option. Button layout is wonky, with O, X, and SQ as LK, MK, and HK while L1, R1, and TRI operate as the punches. Not ideal but entirely playable. Gameplay is smooth, with very little lag or slowdown and the audio is decent too. It's a pocket version of SFIII - the stuff of a madman's dream.

Following on from my CPS2 shenanigans, a working version of Final Burn has been released for Android. Final Burn allows you to play CPS3 games, so you know what that means...

Oooh, looks like it's time for me to get a new phone. Or just see how homebrew on Vita turns out...

Also also (also) does anyone actually want to go to SVB. It's literally about 25 minutes away, so I don't really have an excuse not to. cheapo registration lasts until Nov1 16th so maybe we should be thinking about this, I suppose. I'm also currently free that whole weekend and it's either play video games or do christmas shopping.

If anyone wants to get a 50p bus down from glasgow and sleep on my uncomfortable furniture I could probably rent out a bit of floor or something.

I fancy SVB, I noticed nuskool mentioned being in London as well. I was thinking of entering AE for a laugh but not sure really. I would cheer on any brave mukkers who did though. What's it like, anyone who's been? Possible to just rock up with a stick and play some casuals? Then watch the tourneys, and go to the pub if Tekken comes on?

Very much up for November fightings though, obviously depending on date.
