Bah, mystery ruined now.

In other news, I just did some live streaming with Google+'s "Hangouts on Air" feature. It was an empty room and it was only some dodgy 3rd Strike recording with a cheap webcam, but it would be awesome if it would allow the streaming of lobby sessions to the masses. Although the bandwidth involved would probably make that impossible...

EDIT: plopboy could probably pull it off though

You're too kind, though I would try http://www.justin.tv/ if you want to do some streaming stuff. You do have adverts but it is the easiest free way to get going, but as you say bandwidth is always the killer with these things.

I just started a new character too!

I'm going for a Faith variant of that build, for maximum PVP fun later on. Kind of wanting to go Intelligence though, since there are lots of tasty new magics in the DLC. Or maybe finally just do a Strength build for that insane looking new greatsword... hummm.

Hmmm. I guess I will look up some magics to aim for, thanks! I always umm and ahh and then end up using a shortsword and bow. I pick Ryu, basically. I went ahead and bought the PC version so I can take it home with me at christmas if necessary, and to force myself to start a new character properly rather than just giving up partway through and going back to the only character I've finished the game with.

Korea really could have done with poongko on their team for the 5v5. The gen and the blanka player just looked totally outclassed, it was basically just infiltration and laugh against 5 other guys. Must have been a total 1 man show to make it as far as the grand finals. Pity it wasn't a bit more competitive in the end. Ah well, I have ae top 16 downloaded for another time. That sounds fun at least.

AE top 16 is very good. Say what you want about $8.95, that's a lot of good foreigners they persuaded to come out and play.

Also, my fat friend tried to play Dark Souls and hates it because it feels too clunky. What is the most eloquent way to tell him that he actually likes it and ought to play it more?

Also I don't think I actually played it for more than 10 hours. And I started Vanquish again with the attention of finishing it, but then I didn't play it again again. Which is a shame, because I've been fraudulently telling a lot of people that it is brilliant.

I didn't like Vanquish anywhere near as much as the many people who go crazy about it. I never got into the score attack side of it so maybe that's why. It was pretty fun.

Pftt must try harder, the game has Sunshine Gary and taunting surely that is worth a few more out of ten.

Sadly notasgoodasstreetfighter4/10 is the only possible score on that particular scale (unless the game is actually street fighter 4). You're right though, I forgot about the taunting. I always do the down-pointing one when I kill a demon. Sit down.

Bayonetta is also good. I just love that you jet about with big plumes puffing out of your back in Vanquish. It feels like it has the spirit of games like Gunstar Heroes or Megaman or Cybernator to me. Which is excellent. It reminds me of the feeling of not being almost 30.

I wish I was almost 30 :(

One more day in Japan. I feel very sad, it is the best holiday I have ever had. I've spent an absolute fuckton of money though. I met an australian and his american buddy the other night and they both live here and I was soooo jealous. Such an amazing place.

Today I bought more things I don't need, this time from the Ghibli museum.

The directors cut isn't really that different, there's just an extra mode you can play after you finish it.

That game still makes me so fucking profoundly uneasy just thinking about it. So many shitting wild terror moments, and just a general feeling of not enjoying myself at all whilst playing the game, due to terror.

Also, yes, I feel that $8.95 represents top value, which is why I am so pleased that the link yasawas provided allowed me to download premium content (people like gootecks keep using the word "content" to describe videos of grown men playing videogames, and I shall copy them) for precisely nothing, despite the fact that I could very easily afford to pay the frankly meagre sum.

YAS. Maybe. I don't even really enjoy scary games usually (although I adored the original Dead Space for some reason) but I feel I ought to at least have an opinion on this so I'll give it a go. I wasn't sure if the Director's Cut was maybe like the game equivalent of the Star Wars re-releases or something.

I just read the Time Extend for F Zero GX as well. Ace article. God I loved that game. Though my main problem with the AX tracks being included wasn't that they were better tracks, but that they were so damn difficult to unlock.

I just bought a copy of the brilliant Ace Golf for £2 the other day; I might get Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and F Zero GX on the go and have a bit of a gamecube revival.

One of the best localisations ever too. I played it through again a few years ago, after the original paper mario came out in virtual consolation. I never finished the wii paper mario, due to it being incredibly dull and repetitive by the end. I would like to play this 3DS version. What 3DS games are out that are really really good other than 3D land?

Dunno. NSMB2 is only really good if you're gonna obssess over replaying levels in coin rush to really appreciate the pretty excellent depth of design. It's very much more of the same. The same being a platform game nowhere near as good as Mario World.

Kid Icarus is very entertaining despite the awkward control scheme, which isn't quite as bad as some people make out. Pretty decent voice acting and self-referential once liners, in a sort of Saturday morning cartoon type way. Very cool difficulty select mechanic too, where you gamble hearts to increase the intensity of a level, multiplying your chances of better loot. Makes replaying earlier stages fun.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked? You like that personaey stuff. That 999 sequel, Virtue's Last Reward, is out in the next few weeks as well.

I'm waiting on monster hunter because I've never played one before. Animal Crossing is gonna be a very big deal for me as well. I don't rate Luigi's Mansion as highly as some mental people seem to, but I'm looking forward to that as well. I mainly just play StreetPass Quest. I have 4 hats left to collect, and three puzzle pieces left too.

Oh you can get Super Street Fighter 4 on it too.

Camel, when you get back I want photos of every damn thing you bought out there.

Consider it done. It's not that exciting though - mostly games.

You know what I found in a shop the other day? A Cave concession. Fucking Cave! Did they have their excellent t-shirts in XL? Of course they fucking didn't :(

Today we finally found 8-Bit Cafe and I now have a new Facebook friend in its owner Nao. It's a good bar but I preferred the atmosphere in Muteki Mario even though a girl in there absolutely smashed me at Puyo Puyo just when I was feeling all smug about beating a couple of Japanese guys.

I kind of like the fact that Vanguish firefights feel like those epic battles that you always saw going on in the backgrounds and skyboxes of older first/third-person shooters, but the shooting is actually in the game instead. :P Too bad I'm a bit crap even on Normal difficulty...

Vanguish, interesting.

I'm going to propose a game called Sanguish: Upon a Scar. It's basically a pipe dream knockoff, except that instead of water, it's the blood of a self-harming goth, draining into a bath.
