Marvel top 8 coming up:

  • Ricky Ortiz vs Noel Brown

Not as crazy a field as has been the case for certain other recent events, but I guess it's usually the stuff you don't expect that ends up being awesome in Marvel so who knows what will happen. If the first and fifth names on that list end up playing each other then I will be very excited.

Was the Italian the excellently-named "Ooze Charm"? They played black and white Mafia films while I was there, and the Japanese waiter spoke to us in English with a really bad Italian accent :)

Yes! No films for us and our waiter had an American accent. I feel like we missed out now. Nice place though.

The most fun weve had here is making sure the food we have doesn't contain nuts as my gf is allergic. Especially fun in convenience stores where we make the poor staff check all the ingredients. Have to say though, I've never met a more helpful bunch of people than the Japanese. They really go out I'd their way to help.

Today we're going to a zoo.

Real Steel was pretty hype at UFGT this year, probably that. Or just do a mystery game tourney as everyone loves those.

I like Canada Cup. I was just up making breakfast and trying to work out the actual time and they were still going in the VIP room, Lap Chi steaming on a mic and loudly goading F Champ into doing a $200 one-round money match.

Today we went to Alcatraz ER, a prison hospital themed restaurant. The best bit is when you're eating and all the lights suddenly go out and the place is pitch black and you drop noodles on yourself then some nutters in masks run around the place terrifying everyone. It was ace.

Oh and I played more Street Fighter. 14 wins, 6 losses so far. Not bad I think.

Bah, mystery ruined now.

In other news, I just did some live streaming with Google+'s "Hangouts on Air" feature. It was an empty room and it was only some dodgy 3rd Strike recording with a cheap webcam, but it would be awesome if it would allow the streaming of lobby sessions to the masses. Although the bandwidth involved would probably make that impossible...

EDIT: plopboy could probably pull it off though

Thanks to everyone for spoilerising the Canada Cup discussion so far. I'm going to try and catch up with it tomorrow, so if things could still be spoilerised for another day or two I would be a most grateful individual.

Someone (Imp) tell me a fun build for the Dark Souls DLC. I've picked a thief and so far all I've done is clear the tutorial and the ceremonial well-jumping.

I just started a new character too!

I'm going for a Faith variant of that build, for maximum PVP fun later on. Kind of wanting to go Intelligence though, since there are lots of tasty new magics in the DLC. Or maybe finally just do a Strength build for that insane looking new greatsword... hummm.

Korea really could have done with poongko on their team for the 5v5. The gen and the blanka player just looked totally outclassed, it was basically just infiltration and laugh against 5 other guys. Must have been a total 1 man show to make it as far as the grand finals. Pity it wasn't a bit more competitive in the end. Ah well, I have ae top 16 downloaded for another time. That sounds fun at least.

Also I don't think I actually played it for more than 10 hours. And I started Vanquish again with the attention of finishing it, but then I didn't play it again again. Which is a shame, because I've been fraudulently telling a lot of people that it is brilliant.

It's not a bad game. It has parries and combos and it is pretty difficult. It's a bit unbalanced, though.

Pftt must try harder, the game has Sunshine Gary and taunting surely that is worth a few more out of ten.

Tell him if he completes it all the young ladies will be after him, I've completed both Demon's and Dark Souls and I'm beating them off with a shitty stick.

I haven't played fighting game since I was poorly the other week, I think the man flu has sapped all my fighting skills out of me. Though I have ordered SFXT for my Vita so I might ease my way back in with some bear and ninja action. Having said that I have been fiddling around with Nina and the Ninja as a team recently but my bear always looks sad so I have to go back to him every now and again.
