I've been reading about Persona 4 this morning. Someone suggested a there's a rumoured October date for the eu release? Is there any official word on that just now? I'm looking forward to it; it looks beautiful. I'm sure a lot of the story and background references will be completely lost on me, though.

I've kind of lost track of what's supposed to be happening. Amazon listed the date for Arena as 31st August but that was a placeholder rather than a confirmed date. Who's suggesting October?

I played Jellum The Destroyer at Marvel last night before dinner and got walloped in the face and body. I didn't even get in with Super Skrull to start a chain into launcher, nevermind try out my post-relaunch cheeky reset. Then I had a nice shrimp salad and watched the first Expendables film. It didn't quite live up to the ridiculous promise of its first kill, but it was still silly enough and I liked it.

Also, why is the xbox site so damn slow? I just wanna use it as a quick messaging system on the mac. Is there a faster way, without just plugging a USB keyboard into my xbox?

Lovely wee session (wait, that sounds wrong) on Marvel with JLM and Alistarr last night. I didn't win a round (or, thinking about it, take down a single character) but I had fun all the same. Still can't hyper cancel anything of Wolverine's in the air. Still, a great spectacle and Alistarr gave me an Akuma tip I've already forgotten but which I think was really useful.

Oh, wait, the beam thing. Yes, very useful indeed. Thanks chums.

Then I went over to AE and had a decent couple of ranked matches until Jason turned up and proceeded to make a very sexy kind of mincemeat out of me. 13-0 at the end, I think, and he didn't even break out any of his mains. Honestly I think JLM is the best on the forum at the moment (though I haven't played Hegg in months). Just never seems to make a mistake, incredibly hard to break down and I have to be at my absolute best just to give him a decent match.

What a prick.

Oh, and how many times did you backdash a desperation wakeup DP in the final round? I lost count at four.

I played a guy called 'zakbeast87' in ranked the other night, he took me for about 4-5 games in a row. He has like an 11,000 BP Juri.

After this he invitied me to a Endless game where we had about 10 matches; he won the majority.

Zak Bennett is v v well-known, went to Evo and Curleh Mustache and all sorts. More for his Marvel play, though, I think - he has quite the Firebrand.

That's surprising and quite disappointing to hear as he's never struck me as the rage quitting type. He's a good shout for Europe's best UMVC3 player and I didn't think he played AE at all any more. He's certainly dropped it competitively.

GGs to everyone for the Marvel-ing and AE-ing last night. My personal AE highlight was doing a Sakura Ultra 2 on Donut's wake up to punish a suspected wake up teleport. As fun as landing those OS ultras is, you can't beat the smug satisfaction of a good read.

I will definitely try and beast it all day, but I am spectacularly, hopelessly obsessed with playing Persona 4 on Vita at the moment.

Also Shopto are still saying September 7th for Arena, so fingers crossed.

I'm tempted to try Persona 3/4, in the meantime, but I'm afraid they might not be for me. I don't have a PSP anymore either, so I'd be playing them on the big telly via the PS3, which means I could be playing fighting games instead and probably will.

Yes, doing something heinously unsafe or wild on someone's wakeup, and then having it work (like an ultra or an instant air throw to catch neutral jumps or a well timed taunt) is the best of the things. So much better than that option selecting nonsense.
