I want everycunt's golf. Every time I go to buy it when it's like £10 on sale at shopto or whatever it's always sold out though. I've never played one of them games before. Actually thinking about it I got given a copy of the PS3 version. Maybe I should shut up and play that.

I heard from a mediocre Dee Jay player (i.e. impossible to beat) that Bison's crouching medium punch destroys all but EX forward Kicks as a wakeup option for Dee Jay, as it causes upkicks to whiff. So I guess safe jump crossup with that or something? In my head I remember Bison's hitbox looking pretty high up for that move though.

Yeah, play the PS3 one, they are essentially the same game. Vita version has daily tournaments and stuff which IMO are profoundly useless unless you got the 3G model, and seeing as you're of sound mind I assume you just went for the WiFi one.

Had to spend a few days playing Yet Another Fighting Game but that's done now and I have a few days to myself. I will press buttons badly at people this evening, unless Sleeping Dogs proves too much of a lure.

Oh and will everyone please get Sound Shapes this instant. Thanks.

What the hell is a Sound Shapes? Every shape but the squares, I guess. I love Everycunt's Golf, but I think maybe Ace Golf on the gamecube is my favourite golf 'em up.

I was all Marvel in the head this morning until I started thinking about how much I wanna destroy Dee Jay.

PS3 platformer with a lovely musical element to it. Coins are notes, so as you collect them the music builds and builds then drops back again. It's a wonderful, wonderful thing with a powerful level editor and I sort of want its babies.

Also, himpster and other Vita owners, if you buy it on PS3 you get the Vita version free and it does the cross-platform cloud saving thing.

I bought sound shapes last Wednesday, Nate. I like it a lot. I wish they gave you more options to colour your levels though. I really like the Vita d-pad btw, it might just be perfect. (yes, I did get the wifi only model btw).

Also, alistarr/choo, I played Dear Esther last night and it was an excellent experience.

Thank you Joseph "Sepp (Joffocakes[joffocaked])". I think I need to sourly and despondently spend some time in the 'lab' working out which of bison's buttons beat dee jay's buttons. He seems to get free jump ins from just inside crossup range, due to lowest possible knee shot cleanly beating both hk and cr.hp which irked me somewhat, since he'd just work his way in with an air slasher, then just vortex into sweep rinse and repeat. Crossups stuff wakeup ex psycho, teleport worked to escape, but then he just gets in easily again. Meanwhile he's got amazing anti-air with upkicks and slide. But yeah I think I need to use different normals that I was. cr.mp seems a decent mid-range option. I need an anti-slide button also, since his slide beats hk and scissors, which is hugely annoying. Perhaps cr.mk or something. And focus, since this guy was sliding wildly.

On the plus side I beat a Yang who clearly though he was amazing and taunted after basically any knockdown. He had absolutely no idea what to do when told he couldn't dive kick though, apart from dive kicking into bipson's foot many more times. He had all his mixups and combos down pat once he got in, but his only way to get in was massively telegraphed dive kicks or throwing out a wild 3/4 screen rolling upkicks thing, no footsies or spacing whatsoever. Typical ranked, I guess.

I'm pretty sure the best button against slide is block, especially when you've got Bison's cr.lk to retaliate with. When I played as Dee Jay a Honda man, Branstar, used to beat the slide very cleanly with Honda's forward jumping MP. There's something odd about the hurtbox on that. I've never been able to beat slide with it as Honda, though.

Yeah, but I mean when you're in close and are throwing out pokes, I'd like to throw out a poke that wouldn't get beaten if the dee jay slides about, as they are often wont to do. And hk is usually a good go-to, but it's a bad idea at mid range in this match I think. You can't just focus willy nilly if they have charge, due to dread kicks.

Is Relius the only new dude in that? I'm struggling to justify when we'll barely play it!

I have no idea, but I didn't buy platinum in the original either, so two new characters for me I guess! I want to learn kimono Rose knockoff in the new one...

It is an excellent game. I have it on Vita and can't get enough of it. I know that it's style over substance and I'm not really manipulating the soundtrack - just adding bits in - but so many levels made me go "oooooh" or "woah" or "awww". Definite contender for my game of the, um, month.

GGs to Haggar and Donut, GG to Imp. That was lots of fun. Before I played against you folks I fought some randoms with Dudley. One of them was a terrible, terrible Ken player called MQX Blade or something like that. He didn't have his mic on initially, then I got him dizzy in the second round and by the time we got back to the lobby screen I caught the tail end of his rage. "Why you playing Dudley for anyway you lame faggot!" I sent him a message saying "I beg your pardon?" but he had already gone offline to stew. He was far from classy.

Heggfest: is there any benefit to someone who is good at spreadsheets or polls or something pulling together a list of dates when folks can make it? Clearly the Hegg himself governs the initial dates but after that it's fair game maybe?

I guess that doesn't solve the accommodation issue but we would have a platform to build a plan around.

I'm getting worried I'm not going to be able to afford to come the longer it remains up on the air. :(

I had a similar thought last night, then swiftly forgot about it when I remembered I don't do spreadsheets of my own free will. Good idea though.

I have secured P4A btw, so that's that covered if we can sort out a new date.

I've been reading about Persona 4 this morning. Someone suggested a there's a rumoured October date for the eu release? Is there any official word on that just now? I'm looking forward to it; it looks beautiful. I'm sure a lot of the story and background references will be completely lost on me, though.
