Did anyone else notice the new, ridiculously-titled BlazBlue game announced?

Looks like a lot of work has gone into this. 3 new characters, movesets changed for all the old cast... I will buy it and play it for a while. I doubt this will be the case, but I kind of hope there are more ways to escape pressure for mere mortals this time, otherwise I will push it aside in a huff, again. The lady with the scarves who looks like an even more anime Rose looks interesting though.

Will it be another 360 release? I'm still in a huff because I bought Continuum Shift Extend from Games on Demand only for there to be a sequel which replaces it. I guess this replaces everything further. I'll still buy it, I guess. I'm kinda hoping fighting games do die again, like they did in the late 90s, just so I can start to catch up.

By the time I feel I've played a new fighting game long enough to feel confident I could have finished two RPGs. Or ten cover based shooters. Or Super Punch Out 50 times.

I'm sure it'll get a console release, but probably not for a long while since I think the arcade release is down to be December this year. And then three separate full price revisions which completely change the way the game plays by nerfing all the fun mid-screen combos or something.

It's a strange one. It's almost definitely been the worst game this gen for Street Fighter II-itis. It is so, so beautiful though.

Also, I like watching the olympics and seeing all the people with bright yellow shoes run fast because it's NBA Jam and they've got the R button held down.

Yes, I hope that there is a bit of a fighting game death so I have a chance to maybe one day pick up marvel, when online is peopled by only superhuman gods among men, and so that I can get a bit better at SF4 (I won't.)

Hopefully my shit copy of just cause 2 will come today and I can solemnly put it in my little plastic crate full of the video games that aren't street fighter, where it can meditate for a time.

While waiting for Sanwa buttons to arrive I've finally started playing Half-Life 2, which I missed when it came out. I think my best hope of finishing it is for some catastrophic modding accident that breaks my stick in two.

And even if that happens, I'm genuinely considering taking Yasawas up on that TE stick.

That's bizarre, I finished it for the first time last night! It's pretty good innit. I found it took a while to get going personally (I'm safe in this thread right?). I hadn't realised how much of the stuff for portal and L4D was in that game first. I'd rather have been streetfighting though.

Count me in for BlazBlue idon'tevenknow edition. I hope we get our midscreen combos back...

Neither of these things really merit a post of their own so I'll stick them both in this one:

1) I was browsing reddit this morning when I saw a post that could only possibly have come from someone in this thread, and it did, and that made me happy.

2) Isn't it annoying how you can't set ranked preferences to show European players? I want to play more than the UK without opening it up to potential games of Super Stop Motion Fighter IV with people from Hong Kong and Brazil. I played the HK guy once just to see how bad it was and it was completely unplayable and when we got matched up again he readied up and I realised that must be acceptable to some people and I just wonder about them.

Grats on finally finishing HL2, choo. You gonna do the episodes? As a reward I will probably play Dear Esther this week when I get bored of Lollipop Chainsaw. Props to Nate, it does get better. It was also much much funnier than Shadows of the Damned, which was way more hit and miss.

Has there been any news on the next Suda51 project? I bloody loved that concept art of the shadowy dude in a suit with a light sabre.

I don't think we're anywhere near over-saturation yet, a 90s style collapse seems pretty unlikely. By the way have you seen this:

Yup, may as well while I haven't got multiplaying access. I've been reading books and watching TV too! Weird. Yus, play some Dear Esther (next time I choose Spelunky though). As a man what is good with words you can tell me how much I should've hated the writing or something.

I saw that Cartoon Network game in Tesco and was intruiged by it. I love the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo. I've never watched Ben 10 though.

Remeber that episode of Powerpuff Girls were they spoke only in beatles song titles? Or the Dexter's Lab episode with the buzzing bulb. Or the Johnny Bravo episode where a series of odd coincidences make his think time has frozen. Those were all ace.

Real books? Not ones about "programming" "languages"? I done some o that recent-like, read me some China Mieville I did. He's got a few ideas that man. Also seems to be wildly prolific for his age. Plus the dude is swole.

It has Johnny Bravo! Genuinely one of my favouritest cartoons of all time. I hope he has a million stances to match his various poses in the cartoon.
