Just had a wonderful, cagey wee match as Honda where I got mudderred by his Evil Ryu. JOIN US!!!! (EDIT-Forgot to say it's Nate's Evil Ryu, not Honda's, obviously, haha).

Also, Nate, you're just asking for trouble by deliberately linking to that controversial [6] for Third Strike... haha.

UPDATE: Random select dirty bull mirrors!

Wow, I think last night was a new record for losing interest in Strekken - three days after the new characters, everyone in the lobby - myself included - eventually admitted that they'd rather be playing AE, and then we switched discs, and then fungames were had. :D Well played sirs.

SBO sounds like an organisational shambles again, glare and apparently serious network errors between the SFIV machines causing lag and disconnects.

I'm calling it now, the top 8 will be 3DS-owners.

GGs last night, chums. I took my mic off because I didn't need two Curtis sobriety status updates per minute, informative though they doubtless were.

Seems the gods read my still playing piece because after I left the lobby and hit up ranked for a bit I faced nothing but Ryus and Kens.

I thought it was cos I'd showed up. Only got 1 quick beating off of imp before lag ended the party.

I hit ranked and via arcade and fight request but only got about 3 matches and decided to try Deus Ex Human Revolution which I've got on loan. God, it's poe-faced. That faux-Clint hero guy just wound me up so much I couldn't be bothered.

I really should have ordered some new buttons before moving house so I could try getting my new housemates into it straight away. Need some practice at local multi before Heggfest. Well, need some practice full stop.

MBR is Europe's best Akuma player. I believe he's from The Netherlands.

I am back from a muddy, muddy festival where there was no Streetfighter. I feel it may be time to play Streetfighter.

In the second match he does two team combos and he only has two bars of meter, so the level 3 wouldn't have been an option. I think it mostly is because Wolverine's level 3 doesn't hit off the ground, though. I'm Probably wrong. I don't even know what his level 3 looks like.

I got to play loads again Jiro in his hometown last night, which was excellent. I also got to beta-test being amazed by Hegg's new beard. I didn't get to play him though. We did both get to be eliminated from the wee tournament by roukanken's chun li antics though. Poor Dan/Guile.

Had proper good times in the Street Fightin' with Jiro afterward; played loads of matches and even delved into 3rd Strike for a bit, which was wildly entertaining as we were both eager to parry everything. Jiro destroyed me at it and it was ace. Heggfest is going to be excellent.

Yes, brief geegs last night. Sorry for the sharp exit but ladywife appeared.

Continuing Friday's theme of relentless self-promotion, I'm in Edinburgh this week, covering Edinburgh Interactive and then actually doing a talk on Saturday. It's the first time they've ever opened it up to the public for a day, and there's lots of good stuff on, especially for younguns: http://edinburghinteractive.co.uk/public-program (WARNING: contains link to my monochrome fizzog)

Anyway I'm up from Thursday to Sunday, though I'll have the wife on Saturday and Sunday and I have to go to some Dare To Be Digital thing in Dundee at some point too. Still, if any Edinburgh crew fancy watching me stumble gracelessly through a hurriedly assembled Powerpoint presentation, then come along - I think you have to register for it but it's all free, like. I am also open to offers of beer on Thursday evening.

Could it be I get to meet Hegg, Joffo and Nate all in the same week?! Got the Hegg and Joffo Achievements on Sunday at Twitch in Edinburgh where they were running a mini-tournament. Bit of a motley crew up at Twitch but they were mostly friendly and welcoming. Joffo was Dantastic and Hegg was unlucky not to get further with his Guile and Dee-Jay. I was too shy to enter.

Felt daft after calling Heggfest Heggfest to Hegg's face/beard. Was lovely to meet them both (Joffo and Hegg that is, not Hegg's face and beard). After the tournament Hegg had to rescue his girlfriend from a deluge of rain and tourists so we didn't get a chance for games which was a shame but me and Joffo went back to mine for a couple of hours of SFIV and 3rd Strike which was great fun.

I've registered for your talk Nate. Beers on Thursday?
