Ultra Street Fighter IV

Any regulars based in London fancy being in the audience for Vic and Bob's new show filming tomorrow night at BBC Television Centre? Ticket's for 2. Only heard I got it tonight so not much chance of me making it down. Also, if they ask for ID you might not get in but I guess it could be worth the risk if you live local.

I played Alistarr at the Marvels last night! I lost all but one, it was excellent.

First lesson: don't taunt after you mess something up. You can't cancel them and Alistarr can definitely hit you from fullscreen and hurt you quite badly.

Second lesson: I need a second character. Wolvie and Akuma are fine, but they need a friend. I had two minutes in training mode trying out the Doom stuff Alistarr suggested which helped a bit, but I need more time. I tried Ryu but had three horizontal assists and it didn't really work.

Third lesson: I need to be quicker with my cancels into hypers in the air, Alistarr kept flipping out of the combo.

Still, it was lovely. I think that's the first time I've played people off here apart from that Heggfest bodying and one time early in UMV3 with Singho that I ran away from very speedily. I have lots to learn, obviously, but all those hours watching streams paid off at certain points - seeing a projectile coming and countering it with Akuma's Hyper, following it with X-Factor and another one (which I think missed, but still). I'm still micless but I heard Alistarr cooing softly spoken words of support at times, which was smashing.

So yes, Marvel. I played a bit of SFXT, too. Struggled with Jack for a bit, finished his trials, then did the Ryu-Law thing and won a couple and realised I was so, so bored.

I have a day off today. I have a kilt wearing sakura in SFxT. I'm going to get a haircut, then buy milk on the way back. Might get some bread. Nothing fancy; just a standard loaf. Might stretch to seeded batch. Also, Tesco had some Super Seeded bread, but I couldn't find the implied Top Tier one.

I'll be playing SFxT or Marvel for most of the day.

I've been reading the Fez thread and now my self-esteem is through the floor. I spend a lot of my life feeling stupid but that's just added a whole new circle to it all. It may all be pre-emptive but it's there all the same.

For dinner I made chicken skewers and piri-piri chips. It was awesome. Tonight I play football.

It does have a quite beautiful but superficial layer of being very clever, Fez. But in the end all the puzzles boil down to the same thing, pretty much. The difficulty came from realising the puzzles were there in the first place.

Also there was far less creative use, gameplay wise, of the perspective shift than I expected. I do love the look and sound of it, and all the haiku chiseled into the game's walls strengthening the theme of searching for answers outside of your perception but as a game it kinda disappointed me. Definitely worth every penny of those 800ms points all the same though.

Yeast Roll

Naan Kicks.

Flour Kick (Sakura's overhead)

I went out and drunk loads of Geueze Boon last night because it was my gf's birthday and we also went to gourmet burger kitchen which seems to be Nando's but with burgers. Then I was awoken really early this morning by my son knocking on the door. Today I'm playing dad instead of going to work which is excellent.
