Guys, is the SF4 20th Anniversary Madcatz stick for 360 a good one? I've found one cheap and want to pounce on it, but worried it's like the black sheep of the stick family or something.

They are ok but not as good as the TE sticks. The reason being the parts (buttons, stick) aren't Sanwa parts. Having said that they are really easy to mod with good parts

Would you consider a second hand stick? Ahem. I have a TE I'm still trying to get rid of and my Traduing thread has been less popular than I'd hoped.

I'm basically fighting temptation over that one... I really shouldn't. I'd love to have a TE though.

I did consider it, I promise, but think it stretches my budget a little too far. If I manage to save up a bit and no-one's gone for it I'll get back to you.

I don't even need to watch that to know that no, I don't remember it at all.

I will not be playing Ken this year! In fact I might not even play Street Fighter this year. I'll be on the poverty fighter setup wilding quarter circles like a boss.

That's twice this week I've used "wild" as a verb, I hope you're happy.

Ace! Where are you headed?

I went to Hawksmoor for the steak a few weeks ago and it was just as good as advertised. Also bank breakingly depressing. As a side note, their burgers are pretty damn great too, the cheeseburger with short rib being my choice over the more novel kimchee burger. I've actually been quite busy going to as many of those burger/barbecue joints in the last couple of weeks before I moved out of east London. Bukowski's triple fried chips in beef dripping aren't as good as I'd hoped, but their burgers rival Meat Liquor, and there's no queuing. Fuck queues! I'm not a huge fan of their pulled pork though. I am however a massive fan of the pulled pork at Red Dog Barbecue, which I ended up at last night.

I'm going to die young.

Also, I'm away from my lovely 10-30ms lag television, so any fighting I do this month will be accompanied by a triple-scoop of salt and futility.

Ah, it was nowhere amazing, just one of thoes brazillian traffic light all you can eat steak places, was still perfectly nice mind, but wasn't quite up to Hawksmoor (what is!?). I've been meaning to try their burger, but frankly the steak is so good when I go there I can never bring myself to order it. I've yet to go to either bukowski or red dog. that's my main issue with south london, all the really decent places which do the good quality american diner food are almost universally in central/shoreditch. Best I have near me is bodeans, which is good but not great. The gastro pubs near me do ok burgers, but it's not the same as meat liquor! Next on my to do list are burger & lobster and pitt cue co.

Oh, have you tried meat market in covent garden yet? Same as meat liquor but hardly ever have to queue.

No, but that's definitely on the to do list, not done Pitt cue either, which is next for me since I do so very much love a good pulled pork.

There's a Bukowski in Brixton market by the way Haggs. Incidentally, have you been to Franco Manca round that way? I think that's the best pizza I've had in London.

Assuming everything goes well, I'll be moving to South London at the end of the month, so should be able to put up a few people for Heggfest.

Oh man, I've got a friend who is obsessed with one of those places. The way he says ALL YOU CAN EAT BRAZILIAN MEAT with such enthusiasm is one of the great pleasures in life.

This thread is also reminding me I am terrible at taking advantage of London's gastronomical pleasures.

Yeah, moving to Camberwell, should all be confirmed in a week, we're just waiting for our referencing to go through. I would have liked to have been closer to Brixton, but the housing market for three bed flats is nuts this time of year. Really nice looking place though, and I can see the Shard and the Gherkin from my bedroom window. Travel links are a pain though! Half an hour walk to the tube and Denmark Hill isn't on the overground until December I believe.

For lunch I had a pitta filled with random stuff I pulled from the fridge this morning. Emmental, tomato and some couscous left over from last night. Also, a belgian chocolate waffle thing.

The Olympic cycling time trials are taking place just next to where I work but I can't be bothered to wander down for a gander because I did that on Sunday near my home, waited for 20 minutes with my increasingly bored son, then they whizzed past in about 2 seconds and that was it.

In other waffle, I grew up in South London and miss it.

Joffo, I started playing Grim Fandango for he second time ever today. My god the controls are awful!

How many times did you run in and out of that lift? It is frustrating. You can switch between character and camera relative controls though.

The dialogue and design more than make up for it though. Plus the voice acting being top notch. And the surreal collage land of the living.

I was looking in Camberwell, imp, although Streatham Hill won out. Where do you have to get to? Loughborough Junction is handy for St. Pancras. I'm sure you've looked at all this of course.

I usually wild between home and the centre, and I won't be commuting every day, so I shouldn't really moan. Cheers though! The overground will make it much easier to see friends who live out east though. (yay)

Nate, I enjoyed the iPad version of the gamegadget article. I was quite getting into the music. And then it stopped. :(

Ah cheers, will fiddle with the settings some, camera relative might be better for me, despite all the rest I've played. Agreed though, I remember loving the game last time through. It does seem to be one of Schafer's more obscure puzzlers though. I don't know if I'll make it through without resorting to gamefaqs this time.
