I liked bits of it. The early stages of them discovering what they can do and bonding and such, particularly with the pranks and the flying. Michael B. jodran is a likeable chap too, so that was good. I just thought the final act and angsty kid going outright supervillain and putting on a stupid voice to go with it was a little bit too silly. I generally thought his change from victim to tyrant was a bit too fast and jarring, plus usually the angsty kid in these stories has something to offer but gets overlooked because the world has shit on him, whereas this angsty kid didn't make me feel much sympathy despite his preposterously terrible circumstances. Also I always get a bit frustrated by these films because they never do a lot of the fun stuff I would do with the same powers. Obviously that's not the film's fault though. Also there aren't enough frame traps.

On a more positive note, I saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes recently and quite enjoyed it. I wish I were a super intelligent ape. I think that was the message.

GGs Joffo and MacMantis. Ibuki is a nightmare for Dudley. Everone is a nightmare for Dudley, but he's my favourite thing in the game for the time being so I'm sticking with it.

GGs Delores also. I have combos now, are you impressed yet? Nothing I do will ever be good enough for you will it? I am forever Free Jay. Also also, against Gouken I managed to get Ducking upper - > FADC - > fierce jet upper to punish a fireball. First time I've done that in a match; it's a new AE2012 Dudley combo and it was just for you. I'm hoping you fine folks will see a new thing from the Dudley tutorials I'm working through each time I play you.

Just played nearly 50 straight games against Mr. Haggar and it was lots of fun. Dudley to start and then lotsanlotsa random select. It started off by giving me Cody and Sagat over and over again, but mixed it up a bit after that and i got to play a good chunk of the cast. I like that random always gives me Ultra 1 when I get Juri because her SFXT chains all work in Feng Shui Engine and that ultra is just the most fun as a result.

It's been aaaages since I played against you for any significant length of time Mr. Haggar, and you have levelled up significantly since the last time I reckon. Must do this again some time.

I just got an absolute thorough pasting from jellum and it was an absolute delight. I think the score ended up something like 40-4 to him, which was a bit generous to me I think! Have you got new internet or something then, or are you still on tour? The semi-frequent lag spikes are a feature I've been encountering of late with my connection, and are pretty annoying.

I had to try to think and work my absolute hardest to get those 4 games as well. Also some of those combos and resets are fiendish. Not to mention that empty jump stuff where you look like you're going to cross me up, but then don't. I've not seen that before, very confusing but quite fun. Your juri is monstrous. And oh god, the T.Hawk. Poor cammy. I have no idea what to do in that matchup, but repeatedly missing links into spiral arrow is not one of the things to do. If I ever get that link down consistently I will lose a lot fewer matches.

I think I definitely identified quite a few new holes in my game I could do with patching up, which is never a bad thing to do. I realised I was on auto-pilot a bit when I was mostly playing bipson and vega, and have quite a few bad habits I should really unlearn.

Oh, plopboy, just crash round mine perhaps. I don't know how many people will end up here. Perhaps a lot. Maybe if people could bring a few inflatable matresses that would make life easier? I dunno.

Last year we had, what, imp, jlm, alistarr, nate, cale, choo and joffo all sleeping round here, I think. I'm sure I could manage more depending on whether my flatmate is about.

We'll be near Fulham/Putney in London, so if anyone else is nearby and has floor space or whatever then don't keep quiet.

I moved out of my house in Leeds at the end of June and, for various reasons (boring reasons, not bad ones), I won't be living with the same housemate next year and am in limbo until I get a new place sorted. Thankfully I haven't had to move back home because my mum has a rented flat in Nottingham that she uses for work and I'm staying in it until I can sort out a new house share. It's pretty boring here, but on the plus side the flat has a decent internet connection that seems to let me play against everyone.

Anyone know anything about Nottingham? I notice they have a Hooters here. So, there's that. Apparently there was quite a strong fighting game scene here in the early mid 2000s largely based at Namco station. Then it closed in 2007 and now there is nothing. Bah,

J45ON, what are you doing next Sunday daytime? I could potentially come visit with my depressed girlfriend in tow (she will be depressed when she finds out we're stopping off for Street Fighting) on my way back from my bro's wedding. If it turns out her gym has an outpost there then this might become a serious question. That said, it might make just as much sense to just drive home, make her a cup of tea and fight you over the internet.

Haggs I think I already begged a bed at your place for the salty suite*, but this is me begging again.

*another of those "Jiroczech" moments, there, when I finally realised that something was a pun several years after first seeing/hearing it.

Jellum, you have combos out the wazoo these days! It actually makes it unfair.

I think you should be limited to jab, jab throw.

Things I learnt in our games:

1) If you block Dudley's straight at point during the round you will be in blockstun until the next games so don't try and press a button.

2) Dudley's c.lk or lp, whichever it was, has some insane hitbox/hurtbox properties. Stuffing crossups, ex.tatsus and other bizarre stuff. It's like more Balrog jab than Balrog's jab.

3) Someone needs to write books about the way you mindfuck people when they have life leads and are in relative safety. It's unnatural - you are like a Street Fighter Woman in Black coaxing bods to their doom.

I will most likely have London floor space come Heggtime. It's hard to say exactly how many I will be able to accommodate at the moment, since I'm still house hunting myself right now. Should have a place sorted by the end of August though. If I don't I will be seriously depressed anyway.

I am right next to Carlton train station. As in, I can be on the platform within 30 seconds if I need to be. That close. Wretcherd, if we meet then we'll have to agree in advance whether we'll open with a fist bump or a handshake. If we get caught somewhere between the two I'll probably scream and run away in terror. You and Allystarr should both totally come round next Sunday for fightings. Whoever isn't fighting can take a shift apologising to Alistarr's girlfriend and saying "this'll probably be the last game."

Oh, heggfest - I might have access to a car around that time, so I could quite easily bring a couple of 24" asus monitors with me (and a PS3 / 360) if we think extra setups will be required. This would also mean I could chauffeur people to the Salty Suite too.
