Nooo Peterrrrr. :( I know he won a game with the She Hulk team, but I still think going back to it was a huge mistake in that set. Couldn't have been much closer or more exciting though. Feels like the tournament is Champ's now, but Combofiend running it back through losers would make my year.

Amazing comeback from ChrisG. That's the nature of the match up for Flocker I think. Morrigan bullet hell is terrible for Zero, and ChrisG is overrall a much stronger player in open play, so he has to kill the whole team off the first touch with Zero or he's going to have problems.

It's a shame how the bracket's worked out here. I'd have loved to see Frutsy vs ChrisG because his team is a great counter to ChrisG's, but I can't root against Combofiend.

:( I know he's pulled that off with She Hulk before, but it still felt like he gave up two games for free by not going with the Nova team to begin with. I was so hype for that comeback in game 3, then he lost Nova for no reason in the next game and I was sad.

Holy shit.

This game has brought unprecedented levels of hype at the road to evo events this season, but that last game between Champ and ChrisG might just be the Marvel match of the year.

Holy. Shit.

Oh god, why haven't I gone to bed yet. Tomorrow will be fun. On the other hand, great Marvel finals. Did enjoy KOF as well.

Cannot believe Marvel went to last game. Wanted Infrit to win, shame Sent is apparently terrible. Best player probably won mind, so there you go. Now where's SF?

Man, nailbiting stuff. Champ is arrogant and often very obnxious, but it always felt like if Justin didn't win it this year then it had to be his. Nobody grinds harder at Marvel and he is just so very, very good. Best Dormammu, best Phoenix, best Dark Phoenix and you can make the case for best Magneto and best Dormammu. Aside from all that, the team synergy and the creativity, the main strength he has is that nobody in Marvel has a better defense. He used to have the best Dhalsim in the world in SF4, and that ability to defend under extreme pressure clearly transfers over to Marvel and is invaluable. He doesn't really need a result like this to inflate his ego even more, but he deserved this win.

Great that Infrit had his break out on the national stage. Everyone who watches WNF/The Runback knows how good he is, but nobody called him getting this far. So clutch and so cool under pressure in grand finals. His refusal to die with Sentinel was so impressive.

AE up soon, so hype. The winner of Daigo vs Infiltration has to be the favourite, but I am desperate to see Dieminion or PR Rog take this and they're both capable of doing it. Dieminion can beat Adon, he's done it before and he's in the form of his life this year. PR Rog has beaten Daigo in the past and has promised new anti-Ryu tech if he gets to fight him. He's well versed in the Akuma match thanks to Tokido, but Infiltration has always had the better of him in tournaments. I think both Dieminion and PR Rog could do with Daigo beating Infiltration as he's destroyed them both in the past.

Poongko can of course beat anyone at any time, Xiao Hai and Cammy are always a threat.

Humanbomb has already beaten Poongko and I wouldn't be surprised if he did it again. I don't know if he has what it takes to beat PR Rog but wouldn't be too shocked to see it.

Gamerbee is a master of the Akuma match up and has beaten Tokido countless times, and the Guile and Ryu match ups are both in his favour too. On paper the bracket looks decent for him.

Argh, I dunno. too strong a bracket. But yeah, the winner of Daigo vs Infiltration to take the whole thing is the obvious prediction but I hope it doesn't happen because any other outcome would be more exciting and fun. Dieminion is the one I want to win it the most, with PR Rog a close second.

Cammy might just be Seth's worst match up in fairness. He's looked uncharacterisitically cautious and tentative a lot this tournament, though I think that's symptomatic of people being better at fighting Seth than they were last year. I'd still prefer AE to be 3 out of 5 too; that set barely got going.

Nooooo. My early prediction of Guile running into too many bad match ups to win a major came true, though it's a testament to just how great Dieminion is that he still got top 8 and made me believe he could beat Gamerbee. Incredible showing from him this weekend and I'm gutted to see him go out.

Oddly, stream numbers have haemorrhaged. Marvel was 80-90k, KOF was 80k. Currently at 70k. Must be late in parts of US. They should have stopped up like idiots in the UK. Also 2/3 in these brackets is a stupid decision, games over in 3 seconds.

It is silly, and certain characters/match ups need more than a two out of three set to be anything more than random.

Very clutch from PR Rog there, though Humanbomb was clearly nervous and flustered and dropping things he shouldn't be. He does normally hit his combos 95% of the time, but the main stage at Evo is different. He had the comeback off that corner reset but got standing fierce instead of crouching fierce on one of Sakura's easiest combos. Must be sick about that.

Man, that's a rough dropped combo for Daigo. Great read on the frame trap and an extremely rare drop. Cammy owns Ryu pretty badly; if Daigo wasn't so exceptionally godlike with the uppercuts that would have been completely free. Top 5 characters in the game are Seth, Viper, Fei Long, Cammy and AKuma for me. Adon possibly sixth.
