Bwahahahahaha. Godlike Latif. I thought Magus and Ski were spot on about him showing a bit of patience and intelligence in his game that wasn't always there last year too.

I need to start previewing my posts because I put quote tags instead of spoiler tags every time. I don't want Nate to call me a wab on Sunday, that'd be a terrible way to end my weekend.

So impressive the way Daigo has completely switched up his approach to the Fei Long match to the point where he convincingly beat Mago's Fei at CEO. The AE changes to Ryu make playing a Super Turbo style Ryu a stronger option, and it turns out to be a much better option against Fei than Ryu's typical SFIV ground game. In short, lots and lots of fireballs because it's harder for him to bully you with Rekkas and whiff punish your pokes when most of your pokes are fireballs. It's not ideal because Fei has tools to get around it, but if you don't do it and try to play a mid-range footsies game against him then he beats Ryu for free. Great adaptation.

I love Afrocole. His insistence on Ultra 2 has cost him so many matches, but he loves hitting it so much, and has so many ways to do so, that I wouldn't ever advise him to change it.

Strong play from Filipino Man there. I liked how Ryan dealt with Rose's anti-fireball game with Sagat though. Firing a high Tiger shot for her to reflect, then moving in and going under his own reflected tiger shot with a low one to hit her back. I think one of the problems for older school players against top players raised on XBox live is that the uppercut reads game is entirely different. If you've played a lot of Xbox live ranked then you know to always expect the uppercut. I also think Rose beats both Ryu and Sagat, so Ryan may well have been better suited picking Yun. Louffy routinely beats Ryan anyway, so maybe Rose is his kryptonite. Regardless, Filipino Man is serious and beat him quite comfortably.

Ha, poor Sako having to fight Fuerte first round; that's no way to get warmed up. I was just willing the guy to sit still and let Sako do something awesome but, to his credit, he refused.

That's an interesting development. Sakura and the toning down of some of the more infuriatingly stupid stuff might well make me play it again. Team Jellystarr may fight once more.

Also OMG Itz Dropped Combos is the most apt nickname in fighting games.
