She's alright. I like how she seems to pay for her tournament visits through sidebets rather than winning anything. She is as good at entertaining trash-talking as most of them. Plus she takes enough nonsense from stream watchers as it is without nice people getting in on the criticising as well.

Also seriously Haggar did I not warn you about the half-spoilers-that-are-only-kinda-spoilers?

I will try that Sakombo next time but does the fireball really combo off the jab? Colour me sceptical.

Yes it does, even Sako can't change the frame data of the game to make his combos work. Non-Evil Ryu can combo jab into fireball as well.

Just watched those finals, good fun.

Was rooting for Momochi, Rufus is so dry.

Also went unbeaten on ranked earlier to get my beatuiful Chunners to C rank. Included a barrage of Sakuras, which seemed odd as it's normally Ryus. I kicked them all in the face anyway. I think I finally have one of these "mains" I've heard about.

I find her pretty annoying, I wouldn't mind it so much but from what I seen of her she's one of those annoying girl gamers who likes to throw it in your face that she's a girl gamer. Stream monsters are idiots majority of the time.

Cheeky! I was more concerned about pushback than frames, wondering if it was a corner thing or something. I'll bow to your superior knowledge though sir.

I put CEO on when I got home from work and top 8 has only just started. I may be here a while.

Haha, nah I didn't think it workked either until I saw him do it.

I don't think SherryJenix does anything at all to promote herself being a GRRRRL Gamer. She gets extra attention from the people in the scene because there are so few female players, but that's not her fault. She doesn't demand to be interviewed all the time.

GGs one and all, was a lot of fun. Trying to shake the rust off Chun and I'm enjoying playing her again. Also I landed my Guy reset in a lobby with spectators for the first time! Sorry Jiro.

I figured that was what was happening. GGs indeed. I've rediscovered why Ryu is so fun to play. Solid big damage combos. Easy links, tools out the wazoo. Mmm!

Also yes, I fucking loved that reset. Looked so so sick!

I watched some of the fightings. I don't usually get much steam watching done, so it was pretty fun for me. Only watched from the Donut link time until 4 hours and 15 minutes in, but was entertained by the whole ring/entrance theme setup. Mike Ross the showman.

Also, I got that Scott Pilgrim game ages ago and thought it was just ok. Playing through it recently with the lady we ended up quite enjoying it, but found it getting really tough, and there was a section where you run away from some bad man and you have to demolish walls as you go. We didn't manage to break any. Turns out you can buy food to permanently level up your stats. The game is suddenly fun again, and not an almighty slog. Plus I just got a dive kick.

Also, the only bearable person in Indie Game The Movie was Edmund.

Really? That surprises me. I loved Tommy Refenes. And I've done a complete 180 on Phil Fish, to be honest.

Scott Pilgrim gets better (and easier) the more you play and yes, frequent trips to the shops for stat boosts and new moves are essential. By the end you're hard as nails, it's great. Must go back to that, actually.

I only made it to top four before I just had to cave in and go to bed. I think my favourite bit of the night was

Mike Ross beating Gamerbee. Ultrachen didn't mention it because they weren't there I guess but Gamerbee absolutely wrecked Mike a couple of weeks ago (at ECT I guess?). Like, totally free. So to see Mike turn it round like that was great. Loved his match against PR Log, too, with Rog beating Mike Ross with a Mike Ross.

Oh, and Momochi mindfucking Mago and letting rip with the level 3 focus was also great. Fucking Mago.

Ultradavid with the commentary line of the night, too: "It's Ume if it hits."

Noooo, everything he said made me cringe. All the poorly acted "What The Fuck"'s when Meat Boy wasn't on the front of the marketplace. It was nice that he was nice to his mummy and daddy though. I quite liked Jonathon Blow I guess, he was an interesting man, not knowing much about his mad internet rampage, but he seems like too fragile a sort to have a public attention.

Fish going on and on about beating up his old business partner in increasingly over the top, frothing rage was the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've seen in a while.

ggs last night to JLM, Donut and imp - sorry for the poor showing with random select. It's a tough gig arriving in a lobby with you lot looking all warmed up and busting out combos left, right and centre. Thought I'd random select rather than embarrass myself with someone I think I can use. Bad idea really... spent a lot of the time waiting, playing Tiny Tower and spectating.

After my first match, I'm sure I heard imp over the speakers, wondering if his rapid demolition of my caught-in-the-headlights Chun had been dickish. Well yeah... a bit, but I'd expect nothing less, and it's kind of endearing. Don't go changing you wee scamp, it's what makes you, you. And oh man, I had absolutely no idea what to do with Chun-Li. Or Sagat. Or Yun... or the others. Can't believe I managed C2C in Super.
