Ultra Street Fighter IV

The track 'Dragon God' makes for exceptionally well scrubbed pans. (The tracks are named after the bosses for the most part).

"The One Who Craves Souls" is what I imagine Dracula listens to, swirling his oversized glass of red wine, lounging on his throne waiting for the latest Belmont to strut in and fight him.

ggs donut and jiro, apologies for my semi-consistent vega picking, I'm trying to remember how to play this version of him.

I wish I could remember how to do siberian blizzard. It would have helped with my siberian blizzard attempts so much.

we need to make a wild promo video, too, comprised entirely of jab-based combos and phone footage from that joffo match.

Alistarr, as a fellow Cave aficionado, did you buy Akai Katana?

I'll be getting AK, but probably next month now as I've just splashed out on a fancy-pants Saturn. Which I probably won't have time to play.

Who's looking forward to the Darkstalkers announcement at E3?

Well I'll look forward to it arriving and having no time to play it until after the weekend probably. Yeses. At least I can wear the inevitably huge t-shirt preorder bonus in the meantime. Actually I must be able to sneak in a half hour to play it at some point. I already snuck in some dark souls this morning.

Also boo, bring back Heeg Fighter.

Surely the t-shirt will be tiny? That's what usually happens in my experience.

I played some Blazblue Extend with a friend the other night. I remembered how to use Rachel to a degree. Other than that we were mostly flummoxed. It seems I am only able to remember how to play one fighting game at any given time.

Well the Dhalsim tee from SSFIV was huge, as was the Taokaka shirt I got with BB:CS, and they were both from shopto as well. I'm not that large if you remember from the Heggleston village fete last year.

I didn't play this last night but I did beat fight Ryu and Evil Ryu last night on the moon.

If you haven't played Asura's Wrath yet I would heartily recommend it even if you only get the Ryu DLC and spend 5 minutes playing it. It did make me chuckle :)

If you can't be arsed or don't like QTE games you can watch someone playing it here

I bought BlazBlue: Continuum Shift from Games on Demand a while back (and didn't play it, naturally), because I wasn't aware continuum shift extend was a different game. If I buy the DLC and so on, will I have Extend, or do I have to buy the disc?

Also, if I got a new xbox in americaland, would I be able to recover my gamertag and just re-download games I bought from the european store? Also also, would it make more sense just to take my xbox instead? Would it be a simple case of using a US power supply?

Also the xbox spheroid will likely be out by the time I actually move anyway.

I've got a JP 360 at home and managed to recover my UK gamertag to it no problem and downloaded some stuff to it. You could take your PAL 360 to the states and get the correct US power supply for it (I use UK power supply with my JP 360) but then you won't be able to buy and play US games on it obviously (apart from the region free ones like SFIV)

Yep and you can copy most game saves across to a stick too. But it maybe that you could take your old hard drive with you and use a transfer cable to get all of your games, saves and profiles onto a new machine in one fail swoop. I haven't tried this but it should work.

Gee gees to Alistarr and Donut for last night’s sesh. It felt good to be back and many lols were had. Alistarr persistently trying to land Strekken Rufus combos for the first few matches was excellent and Donut stylin’ with Ryu was also particularly note-worthy. And I managed to not get completely mauled in my matches which was nice. There was also a lot of talk about Heeg Fighter, the thought of which gets me most hyped.

Hopefully I’ll be back on this every now and then. The fates totally aligned for it last night as the missus and my father-in-law who is lodging with us at the moment were both out, so I had the headset out and everything.

Back on topic, I bought a new coffee gadget the other day when I went to this utterly amazing coffee shop in Bath. It’s called an Aeropress and it’s made by the same people that make Frisbees, Aerobie. I haven’t used it yet – I’m waiting until the weekend but I am very, very excited. In the same shop they had another awesome coffee-making gadget that looks like it belongs to an alchemist called a Syphon. I tried to make subtle jokes to the staff about filters for it but they weren’t playing. :(

Caffeine Fighter!

I keep expecting people to go flying off the wall whenever rufus uses ex tornado. It is most disconcerting. And I can't not keep trying to do abc launch with vega, since that is 100% of my sfxt game with him.

Oh and I was at the london coffee festival the other week. I had fully 4 espressos and a flat white and I was incredibly tetchy and on edge for the rest of the day. It was totally amazing, frankly. People kept trying to sell me coffee 'systems' instead of giving me free coffee, which I found most disconcerting. I just want to grind some shit beans and then make the coffee in a wild stovetop pot, please.

Oh, my question was more about the Games on Demand games I've downloaded via XBLA; will the fact I've downloaded them in a PAL region mean I can't re-download them in the US?

It likely would be quicker to back it all up to USB, but I'd be trying to re-download a bunch of XBLA games and so on anyway, and my important saves are backed up in the cloud saves thing (at least I think they are; I can't make much sense of that).

Pretty much in a huff about BlazBlue Extend. I'll just buy it on disc anyway, but I really wish I could gift the Games on Demand version I have to someone, because it's now essentially useless. In addition to never playing it I mean. Stupid digital distribution.

I'll be online for literally one hour at half five this evening. I haven't yet decided which game I'll dedicate this time too, but all the recent Hegg-fighter talk and these lobbies you've been having make me wanna fire this up again and lose every match due to futile boost combo hit confirms.

Also, I am jealous of your coffee thing, Cale. They sell Cafe Sant Eustachio coffee in M&S for about six pounds, but it's not as good as it is when you just go there in Rome and ask an italian man to make it for you and pretend you're as suave as Marcello Mastroianni as you drink it until you catch sight of the mirror and your shirt buttons are rippled into a pair of sine waves because of your stupid fat gut.

EDIT: Excellent; thanks for that, Camel!

Aeropresses are indeed awesome - for top coffee geekery action you can replace the paper filter with a metal one and brew it upside down... but really don't bother it makes great coffee as it is. I gifted mine to a mate at my previous job on leaving last week. Now I wish I'd kept it.

I was reading about cold-press coffee making which sounds interesting. You end up with a concentrate that you add hot water/milk to and it's supposed to be lovely.

Joffert - you may experience issues with buying US points cards and live subs in the US on a UK tag. I know a friend who emigrated to Canadia had all sorts of grief when he went to renew his sub. I believe he managed to get it sorted out in the end though.

All this talk of coffee shops reminds me that I should probably go and visit my friends in the Netherlands soon.

Yes! It is very much my intention to get one of those metal filters when the paper ones run out. It looked pretty cool though I didn't quite grasp the upside down brewing aspect. I bought a thermometer so I can make sure the water is at the right brewing temperature and I need to buy a grinder so I can make the switch from pre-ground to beans.

Never heard of cold-press coffee making... Will have to do some research into that.

And re: Amsterdam, I too read that forn types will soon be banned (may not actually be true) which made me attempt to float the idea of my going for a last hurrah past the missus. Didn't get very far on that one but I'm not giving up on it yet. This barring of decent, upstanding gentlemen and ladies from purchasing their specialist wares smacks of racism to me. Down with this sort of thing.

When are they bringing that in? They've been threatening it for a while.

They've banned tobacco in coffee shops anyway, some still let you get away with it but you get funny looks off the other patrons, justifiably. I was off my fucking bracket by 10am every day the last time we went there.
