Ultra Street Fighter IV

JLM

GGs Delores. Streetfighter is the best game. Less of this Modern Battlefare nonsense.

New runnin' sets:

15:15 is the greatest. Or maybe 19:00. I love Combofiend.

The previous couple with Mike and Combofiend doing a Marvel FT5 were a lot of fun as well. Combofiend using his whacky secret team of Trish/Firebrand/doom.

Back from a wee holiday in Carcass-Zone to see that Hegg has made a strong hint of a Heggfest 2012. I am excited. Also, I am going to call to abandon Virgin Broadband this week. I have no idea who to change to though, as I can only really get ADSL in my area. Maybe Orange? Does anyone know stuff about 'hings? I'll try calling them up and saying I just want a connection that lets me fight JLM.

We were with Orange for a bit and could kind of play XBL stuff but we had to use their rubbish "Livebox" router rather than being able to go and buy a decent one, and it only had two wired ports instead of four so I had to convince everyone to go wireless, moreso when one of the two wired ports stopped working. Aside from that though, they're not too bad, but now we're with Sky...

EDIT: That said, everyone says that wireless connections are the work of the devil in fighting games, which probably explains why Haggar can't connect to me...

EDIT EDIT: and bear in mind that this was ages ago so they might have binned the Livebox router altogether...

I bought KOF13 because I already have Skullgirls that I haven't really played. If anyone else hasn't really played those games and wants to join me in frustratedly pressing buttons that don't do what we expect them to do, just let me know.

Also, are there links to stream archives for the various big tings that happened this weekend? SRK always seems to edit in the top 8 results to their post with the link, which is kind of not helpful.

Oh man, I don't think I've ever seen Tom Waits act and from Googling Dracula pictures I probably won't start there.

I too am stuck on ADSL and I pay through the nose for Zen broadband because all the others I've tried (Virgin, O2, BT) were utter shite if I wanted to play games online between 7am and midnight. I don't think they provide any hardware though but I can vouch for successfully connecting to JLM a few times.

Yes, down with owned3d and their hateful archive system. I managed to see the final stages of Power Up and Civil War but gav e up on hunting down anything else.

Working through the VIP night stuff from Shadowloo Showdown so far. So many great matches already.

It's a terrible film. He's not bad in it though. I thought he was great in Down By Law, with the adorable Roberto Begnini, but then I tried to watch it with my flatmate and it just seemed embarrassing and awful. I hate when that happens. He's in Mystery Men!

I'm going to main Gen from now on I think.

Seasons beatings looked quite small compared to shadowloo showdown, surprised laugh and infiltration went there. Perhaps they figured they had a better chance at winning or something.

Really want to watch showdown sf4 now. So much better to watch than strekken. I also might go back to it later tonight if anyone is on?

Yeah, I watched the AE Top 8 from Seasons Beatings last night on the iphone Twitch app. Worked really well.

And speaking of which...

I have never seen PR Rog taken apart so comprehensively as I did last night. I know Infiltration is bloody good (and showing off a really agressive Gouken) but it was almost embarassing how he took Rog apart in the last few matches. I think it was something like 6-0 considering he had to reset the final. Fantastic to see Combofiend's Oni doing good things too. Really enjoyable top 8 apart from the Dieminion v Mike Ross match which was so annoying, yet utterly understandable, to watch.

Laugh and Infiltration always go to NCR and the Seasons Beatings events, so they might just enjoy the events and thr trips. Also Seasons Beatings is a road to evo event and SS isn't, so the Evo points might have added some incentive as well. I think it makes sense for Madcatz/Western Wolves to not send all the players under their umbrella to the same tournament when there are two majors on the same weekend as well. I wonder how that sort of thing is worked out.

Street Fighter 4 remains interesting. Also, I approve of Qazi's avatar.

It's a work in progress :) Don't have any decent image editing stuff apart from MS Paint and the special effects in MS Word, but I might tweak it some more. Also I need to stop changing my avatar every other day.

I'm not even sure which bits of it I've watched, now! But Civil War was really fun, I thought. Marvel was especially excellent and I think I accidentally watched certain bits of it twice but didn't really mind. People are getting really good at that game. So long as the new heroes (Morrigan...) stay about as good as they are now and don't become unstoppable then it feels like the game's really opening up for the top players, which is awesome to see - lots of variety of playstyles.

Oh and I am here for fighting games any time anyone fancies a few rounds today. I'm doing chores while nobody's around so just shout at me and I'll come running.
