Super Street Fighter IV Cross-stitch Edition!

Quite a random birthday present from my girlfriend this morning. Love it. Guess she wasn't that pissed off every time I sent her to bed saying "I'm only gonna have one more fight".

Can't wait to get back into fightings with you all..

If you haven't proposed to this woman already, you stop reading this, and you go and do it now.

Now. I'm going to sit here and wait until you've done it.

Heggy birthday, homes!

That embroidery job is just wonderful. Does your woman take requests? I will pay green money for some of that action!

And that book looks awesome.

Jellum nearly got me to play this today. Would've happened too only one of the worst Indian meals ever cooked was on its way to my house instead so I couldn't get on. Soon though.

Happy Hegg day :)

That book is lovely, I do so enjoy a good art book.

I played this last night and got beaten twice, though they where both close games so I didn't feel so bad. Though my mixup with Elf is a little too predictable since my time away.

imp, I need to know what that book is so I can hassle someone in Japan for it.

Oh, and happy heggday.

Sure, it's called "Street Fighter Artworks Supremacy" ストリートファイターアートワークス覇

Amazon.jp

Phonetically, that's Street Fighter Artworks Ha.

Ha!

I saw a boxed copy of AE in my local indie this morning, and even though I already have the digital version, part of me wanted to snap it up and complete the set so that I'd have boxes of vanilla, Super and AE  but eventually I summoned enough willpower to just walk away...

Which is to say, it can be played on PS3 pad at the highest level. Sticks are more fun because they are fancy and feel like being in an arcade, and certain motions will be easier either on one or the other, but for the most part just use what feels comfortable or what's available to you.

Unless it's the 360 d-pad.

Thanks for that. Order in :hat:

Haha, a friend of a friend who likes to draw stuff got sick this week and decided to spend his week drawing themed sharks, so I asked for him to draw Sharkryuken the street fighter shark and he did:

Ugh, there's a post on the frontpage of eventhubs where someone calls both seth and ryu "tool based characters". What the fuck does that even mean. Every character is based around their tools for goodness sakes. It's clearly something someone once heard a man say, and then they repeated it without really thinking about what it might mean, which is nothing.

It may just mean they have a pretty scathing opinion of the type of people who main Seth and Ryu.

And before anyone starts, I main Makoto.

Got this delivered yesterday. Apart from the obvious answer of practice practice, any other tips for a complete SF noob?. Are there any fighters you are better off starting with or should avoid until you become a bit better?

Ryu is the obvious standard basic character to learn first because you'll have a lot of moves you'll remember from back in the day and he's a great all-round character. You can keep people away with fireballs and use his dragon punch (or even just crouching hard punch) for anyone who tries to jump in on you. Pick whoever takes your fancy though and ask away when there's any help you need. :)

The main characters I'd likely avoid at first are C.Viper, as she can be quite technical, Makoto, as she needs quite a different approach to the game from some of the other fighters, Guy, as his floaty jumps and odd move properties can be an issue when just leaning how the game works and El Fuerte as he is utterly different from everyone else. El Fuerte can do really well by just doing his run and then a medium punch boy splash or hard punch grab though, but I find those kind of wins unsatisfying as I know I'm not doing it all 'properly'. There's a few good El Fuerte players on here though.
