Ultra Street Fighter IV

I think there will be an initial rush to SFXT, but eventually they'll sit side by side. AE will still be shown on streams and stuff, there'll still be a scene and a community around it, it's going to be at Evo. It'll live.

But seriously Hegg, it's not that complicated. There are tons of mechanics, sure, but you can safely ignore them to start with just as you could play 3S without red parries, or SFIV without focus cancels or safe jumps. There are so many little systems that you can just use the ones that you're comfortable with, then incorporate the others over time.

Look, all that and not a single snide remark about Guile.

I didn't make it to the arcade anyway, spent all morning playing an awesome piano instead - badly. I am very jealous of the person I stayed with. We did go to casino yesterday though and much fun was had. I awkwardly tried to sympathise with a boy who got caught by cpu ryu's godlike reaction ultra 2s, and my friend and I struggled to work out how to operate the sickeningly loud ae cabs. Then we played dodonpachi for ages and it was fantastic. Apparently you can get it on xbox but only if you complete a 15 hour adventure game? Not sure it's worth it, but it was still awesome. Street fighter.

You think they'll sit side by side?

Yea, I think they will.

I was playing some ranked last night...

Played an 11,000 BP Oni...Who was basically awful and obviously played to lag.

Blocked an ex slash, which I'm pretty sure gives me like a week to respond (checked...It's -10 on block!) yet he still managed to managed to mash out a completely unsafe DP before I could hit him!

Its scary what you see online.

Just got the results, and I passed the exam I sat last December!

I totally timed out, but I guess I'd managed to inflict more damage than I took.

Well done sir! What an excellent achievement to unlock.

Speaking of that, can you tell me what the conditions to fight Evil Roo and Oni are on Hardest in AE? I set it to 1 round, 60 seconds.

It's the same conditions for fighting Akuma/Gouken, except you have to finish with a Super/Ultra on Seth.

So, for Oni: 1 perfect, 3 Super/Ultra finishes, 5 first attacks, No continues. Ultra finish on Seth.

I think Evil Ryu's conditions are easier, but I can't remember them exactly. I think you only need one perfect and one Ultra finish on Seth.

How about Ogre and Asuka in the mean time?

Yeah, I was thinking of going all out Tekken actually. Fuck Street Fighter.

Horribly off topic, but here's some high level Vega playing some bloke who uses Akuma.

I won't be on tonight as I'll be playing SSFIV against real people with trash talk and stuff. They'll probably stick Tekken 6 on though, because they can press buttons and beat me easily.

EDIT: doh, I keep forgetting my telly's busted so I can't join in tonight anyway :(

I was wrapped up in my Vita last night, trying to improve my Z-tier Everybody's Golf character. How come I can pull off quick sequences of special moves in SF4 yet I can't time three button pushes for an accurate club swing? :hmm:

I'm currently obsessed with Cairngorms Black Gold and others like it. Basically any beer that tastes like drinking Charcoal.

Can I make a recommendation? Try Rauchbier. It's a type of german beer, which is smoky and is basically like drinking a bacon sandwich.

Just watched the replay back and it was pretty close at the end. I managed to do 2 ultras during the match both missing by miles! I always find it hard to fight Ken but at least you don't do the old flowchart jump in kick, sweep like all the other Kens I fight. Actually... they always beat me... ignore what I say, try that! :)

I was playing some drunk fighter and looking for you but no joy :(

I did get matched up with YogaFlame24 though, I think he's the first Street Fightin' celebrity I've played in ranked. If he ever does a compilation video about guys getting tagged with the same fucking option select four times in a row I might finally make EventHubs.

Ggs to Nate, Joe and Yasawas.

My god. So rusty after a week of playing other games. I think I managed to stop playing just as I was learning stuff then promptly forgot it all. Lots of narrow losses, big losses and even more execution fuck ups. Argh. Good fun as always though, Joe's Cody is becoming brutally efficient and good to play Yasawas for the first time.

The maybe slightly random Blanka/Makoto/Sakura was my friend Andy, he's not played since SFII, so I thought I'd throw him in at the deep end. He nearly drowned but had fun doing so. :-)
