Before I had some fun annoying Yas and Len with my Elf (even though they beat me :) ) I had been depressing myself in ranked as my execution is still pretty off at times and I just (as mentioned before) panic and back off instead of keeping the pressure up with the dynamic cooking man.

Anyway following on from an earlier conversation in the thread about there being no bad players in ranked (apart from me, my Elf has a sub 10% win raito :( ) there are a few and I did manage to beat one, whoo hoo.

To be fair when I saw that my opponent was Ken my heart did sink as I always fin d the shotos tricky to get in on let alone beat, but I did manage to win the first round, fluffed the second but oh I had a sweet end to the third :) enjoy (well if you like bottom tier play )

Wow, gone up a rank! The heady heights of D+, the world is my oyster.

It came courtesy of the weirdest, jumpiest Rufus ever. He won the first round purely through me going 'wtf?!' then I just Soul Throwed him for the rest of the match. He still nearly won as well.

Also, after reading on SRK about people's troubles activating Rose's U2, I now can't do it to save my life. Or the round. Easily influenced, me.

Plopppo, can I call you that? You need to get the fuck IN there after a knockdown with elf. Never back off! Also I don't think you used the tortilla, which is great fun to mess with people after a knockdown. Give it a try, yo!

Also mute they fixed the U2 activation bug in v2012. It just means that, like me, you can't execute for shit. The amount of times last night I kept utterly failing to get U2 out. Sigh.

Just spoke to my mate who was very thankful. It turns out the code is only for the Windows version of the game but he has a PC he can play it on anyway so all good. Cheers.

Wicked :), yeah - got to admit the code wasn't exactly clear on the format it could be used for (basically a cut-out piece of paper). Glad he got it working though - it would have been wasted on me. I might be able to rag a Formula One car to within an inch of its life and precision-jump a fat Italian plumber onto the head of a walking mushroom, but I can't quarter-circle back punch to save my life.

Man, rumble is the absolute worst since I got married - the pad just rattles off my wedding ring. #firstworldproblems

I am taking my stick into work today because yesterday I got beaten and mocked because I had to use the 360 pad. Trying to play SF on that is like getting into your car and finding your steering wheel has been replaced with a marshmallow.

So, who's buying Azura's Wrath now?

I saw that an it made me smile, and the demo of the game had some awesome spectacle, particularly big fatman space fingers, but the game itself felt about one step removed from Dragon's Lair.

Also, go get 'em, Nate! Do all your moves. Why isn't there a stick in work? There's a stick where I work.

You may

I know, I know, the less dominant side of my brain is patient waiting for the chance to get in and then when I do the more dominant side of my brain goes RUN AWAY. My first move was a tortilla :P though it got beat out by his DP :( How do you use it as pressure with a knock down? Is it just to anticipate an air attack or to switch sides?

The only bit of science (cough) that I have come up with Elf but haven't tried yet is if you taunt and hold down the kick button when the anim finishes (if it is long enough) you can surprise your opponent with a quick bomb. :)

My first move was a tortilla

That move is called the guacamole, EX version will beat out DPs (if not done too early)

The tortilla is when you run away from the opponent and press HP, he jumps back on the opponent and spins around their head like a propeller. It's a great move for wake up as you look like you're running away and then you jump back on them. It also grabs crouching opponents.

Sorry my bad, I'm getting my move names mixed up again  , ahh and now I understand.

If I remember, and I have no idea if this is right or not, I tend to use that if my MP splash is blocked and then follow up with the tortilla, but this does rely on me remembering and not panicking.

I've been trying to do the Run Stop Fierce in training but my timing is way off, so I have been sticking to dash followed by MP then dash with MP,HP or HK as long as I don't wiff a punch.

As a quick question can dash MK be usefull? I tend not to use it, not sure why probably because HK is so useful.

I have found thant standing HK is quite handy and has a decent range thought and I do enjoy connecting with f.MK , I always think of it as his version of Bison's (dic) sissors kick :)

I remember you told me this a while back and I have used it a few times to try and catch out DPs :)

I think there's some tight links you can land after it? But I imagine it's most useful for cancelling into super, if you can react well enough to hit confirm it?

I don't use Fuerte well at all though.

Ah I see, funnily enough I don't use him very well either. Though I and going to work on his taunt into surprise Quesadilla Bomb, which is probably isn't much use :)

If you're able to watch, twitch.tv/armshouse is about to start streaming the Game World Cup in 10 minutes. First up is a Europe VS The World 2012 12v12 exhibition.

Quiet day at work with an empty office, so I have this running fullscreen on my MacBook. Maybe it's just because I'm still a beginner and therefore easily impressed but that Seth/Ryu matchup (3rd match in) had me laughing. Brutal.

I think MK from dash is safe on block (I think) or a lot safer than HK, which can definitely be punished on block!

But no, I wouldn't use it generally as when you run at someone probably the first thing they're gonna do is block!

RSF is tough to do, a better punish on openings is close HK into guacamole.

Far HK is handy as it's an overhead and hits twice, if the opponent is turtling.

You have to think about when the opponent is gonna push the panic button. If you watch the video you use the splash twice in a row and on the 3rd time you get hit with a DP. remember to think about just using your LP in the run to just stop. It's a great wat to punish people who go into into panic mash DP mode.

Thanks for the advice Goemon, I not sure why but I really like playing Elf more so than Dan these days (the heresy of that statement :o ) . I think because he is so different and really fun once you get going but I do need to practice a lot more with him.
