Ultra Street Fighter IV

I can't say it without shouting like an angry police chief.

That's because in your unruly mind I am inextricably linked with renegade fictional detective Lt Martin Riggs from Lethal Weapon.

Jellum is Murtagh.

Cale is Pesci's series ruining Leo Getz.

More pertinently, who in this thread is most akin to Carl Weathers in Predator?

Ahhh I have enjoyed a bit of Friday afternoon SF thread dossery.

All I need now is for Smoothy to come in and say something smug and false about Street Fighter and watch Nathan Brown fire a reactionary nut though his piss pipe in indignant response.

I'm gonna watch that Scrabble thing over the weekend I think. Thanks for the tip!

Watched Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the arcade last night. Interesting look at the competitive arcade scene in the 80's. It's full of very scary characters, including Billy Mitchell.

Happy to Dropbox it if anyone wants to see it, it never got a proper release :(

Yes, Chasing Ghosts is pretty ace. i think i watched that and King of Kong pretty much back to back so it's kind of the same film in my mind. Though Billy Mitchell is definitely more of a cartoon villain in King of Kong's more cynical editing. I do wish they would've shown more of that old woman in her eighties who had the Q*Bert record.

Is King of Chinatown or the Mike Ross doc worth watching? If you're not already obsessed with Street Fighter I mean?

Doris Self. She died, sadly.

I saw her playing live once. At a big retro event in Croydon many years ago. Billy Mitchell too.

I like the Mike Ross one more than the King of China Town, but both are worth watching if you ask me.

He doesn't really come in here anymore. Also I have a job now and am just the nicest guy.

someone has put up the recent Bar Fights shindig in what i assume is it's entirety - i'll get round to buying/downloading the official one soon. it's Marvel but please watch the Floe/Viscant match for some comical mugging from Floe and Viscant looking like a reanimated corpse.

Vintage Friday afternoon, guys, thanks :-) so much great new technology, especially the guile stuff.

Sadly (for you lot) my days of browsing rllmuk have come to an end - at least temporarily. We still in there on the late-night lurking though.

Just bumped into Yasawas on ranked, a new friend for the list! :) Ranked is kind of addictive, lobbies are fun but I'm impatient. Won a best-of-three against some dude with more PP than me which felt good. I hate liking Cody, I'm so bad with him. That cr. HP > Criminal Upper is such a satisfying punish though.

Anyway, as nerd documentaries have been discussed, has everyone seen Wordplay? It's about crossword geeks (US-style so not quite proper crosswords, but it's still pretty good). I'm intrigued by this Mike Ross film, might watch that tonight. I've seen some Excellent Adventures and he's a funny guy.

Sweet, this thread does film recommendations now too. Will check out Chasing Ghosts and the Scrabble one over the weekend, if anyone could use a passthepopcorn invite let me know. This has also reminded me that the short cut of I Got Next was really good and will probably never come out properly. And even if it does it's going to look so old and weird now. Shame.

Still having a lot of fun with Cody although I really need to work on my ultra use. I can't do U2 on reaction to anything unless I'm at full screen, my reflexes are horrible. I miss HK Ruffian > FADC > U1 every single time, need to get a bit quicker as it should be fairly simple and only uses two bars. I did catch an Abel earlier with EX Zonk > FADC > U1 though which was as awesome as it was unexpected, I'd seen it on a Japanese stream the other day but he was in the corner and I wasn't sure it worked mid-screen.

Good playing you sir! I had a horrible awkward moment after sending that message when I worried you weren't who I thought but it turned out all right in the end :) I know what you mean about Cody, I'd barely played the guy until a few weeks ago but he's just got so much power and a knife and some cool taunts. And I can dress him in green and white hoops.

The Mike Ross film is good if you like Mike Ross. The full cut of I Got Next is great, and available free on vimeo for US residents or people who can represent a US IP.

Is the Justin Wong one available for viewing anywhere?
