Ultra Street Fighter IV

Alistarr was using Akuma last night and making more use of red focus crumples than I'd seen in my entire time playing Ultra so far. That far standing hard punch being cancellable must be a huge thing for Akuma? Amazing.

Also, I'd thought that Hugo's cr.hp Dolphin Headbutt move thing lowered his hurtbox to counter high attacks but it didn't go under Akuma's far standing hard kicks so I guess it's just utterly useless instead. I think maybe you can land it after his wall-bounce ultra throw though.

I think Akuma's far st.HK has fairly generous hitboxes below his actual legs (can hit crouchers reasonably well) so headbutt getting hit by it doesn't necessarily mean the headbutt is totally useless.

I love RFC Demon. I need to look up the basic Akuma vortex/wakeup pressure game, though - didn't get far figuring it out by guessing, just ate a million EX backbreakers!

EX Backbreaker can grab folks so, so low to the ground. It's terrifying. Might look up a few Hugo options for pressuring an opponent post knockdown because other than dashing in and guessing an EX Backbreaker to catch an evasive wakeup I got nuthin'.

Hugo's slow, slow jump startup takes a bit of getting used to, too. I've failed to jump over so many fireballs.

Dan's b+hk was working well against Rufus' distant dive kicks since it has great vertical range alongside decent a decent enough horizontal hitbox. Useless against the rapid close divekicks because of the woeful startup though. I've always been terrible at dealing with those. Even more so now that you also have lots of perfectly timed crossup divekick setups.

I'm going to the bingo with my mum tonight. Bingo! Haha! [/Cody]

I did a little day 0 guide to Poison but it needs a fair bit of updating. Will get to it soon. Key stuff is to zone with her exceptionally good fireballs, anti- air with standing mp and cr. fierce and look for cr. MK xx rekkas. She's a really straightforward fundamentals based character who excels if she has the opponent cornered but is vulnerable to rushdown and characters who don't have to play Streetfighter.

You don't generally need to spend more than a bar to do her best stuff. EX rekkas into whatever you want is a fine way to spend a single EX bar. Aside from that her meter is best used on her absurdly powerful EX fireball, EX love me tender if the match up requires it (going through fireballs) and the occasional EX dp.

Will get into more detail when it isn't 4am after a night out.

I missed all of Jellums fighting due to Skype. I'm sad.

I remember playing Street Fighter on the Snes and thinking that Honda's squeeze grab followed by a bump forward fp.hands was a sort of combo because no one ever blocked back then.

Also it's amazing how many beach hotel reviewers think it's important to mention whether the other people staying at the hotel are German or not.

Cheers guys, was nice to have a decent showing as I have been terrible at my last few tournaments. Was most pleased with my losers final set despite the defeat as it wasn't free for Fuzzy and it was my first attempt at using Tomas in a play to win setting. Will provide a write up soon!

GGs Donut. That was a mixture of myself and Ghost you played there. We have been putting in a lot of work with Hawk and it's starting to pay off now! That round where you took 99% of my health without getting touched and then got fukiage instead of hayate when it would have killed was insane. One of my favourite and most fortunate comebacks ever.
