They don't mention Dan's increased hp.koryuken range in the change video... buh. I guess they can't mention everything but it's a pretty big deal for his BnB since it means there's less character specific nonsense to worry about.

He got the same nerf to his krk FADC forward dash as every other shoto though. Which is fair.

It does show a cl.mp linked into b+hk (his old close hard kick) which I'm sure would have pushed Dan out of range before. I wonder if they've lowered the frame advantage on hit for b+hk because, iirc, it was the same as his cl.mp so if b+hk links after cl.mp it should also link into itself? Might make for some powerful punishes, especially with a cheeky Red Focus to extend it.

Still a shame that cr.taunt doesn't do any damage and remains unsafe. Ah well.

I don't think that his lk.dankick hitbox change will hurt his crossup knee setups since the opponent wouldn't yet have woken up so there'd be no hurtbox to stop him crossing over? I might be wrong in that logic. Delayed wakeup will likely hurt some of those setups, though.

The T. hawk video doesn't mention them changing Condor spire to DP with kick either. A shame if they've reversed that as I thought it was an outstanding buff. Very happy with the changes otherwise though, will definitely be using a lot of Tomas in ultra. He has become the SFO secondary character of choice over the past few months and it is a blast playing him. Spacing, reads, conditioning and receiving big rewards when you make the right decisions. Good honest Streetfightin'. Love it.

This is an old-ish replay now, but the end of the round is what I love about Tomas. Please excuse my atrocious neutral game and incessant jumping. I've learned how to play footsies with Hawk properly since then. However, at the end in a matter of seconds it goes:

1) Pre-emptive air to air button.

2) I have no health so he'll probably DP on landing, so jump over again to whiff it.

3) He's just whiffed a DP and been hit for it and he still has a healthy life lead, so on the next turn I reckon he'll sit still and I can get a sneaky SPD.

4) He's already been shown whiffed elbow into SPD, plus he's just eaten an SPD, so whiffed elbow into anti-air ultra for the win.

It's so, so great when you get a little succession of reads like that as a grappler.

The second replay is me confessing to a terrible habit I have picked up with Rose. That being, if I get an opportunity for a slow-mo taunt finish I will always do it. In this instance, I punish a Bison for mashing low short (as they all do) with a quick counter hit set up and get the chance to finish him in style/like an absolute prick:

Oh that is glorious. I just wish Rose had a decent taunt, they're all a bit tame.

Sourly I have an obligatory all-staff thing on the Friday after Ultra comes out, but it's surrounded by days off. I'm a bit worried someone will ask "any other business" and I'll respond "well firstly, Decapre's Ultras are bullshit".

Because I am in London for work for a few days and so hip and cool and on it, I went to Meat Liquor for dinner last night.

Which 2012-trendy London eateries should I be considering for tonight, threadchums? I am staying around Goodge St and will probably be alone.

Nate. What kind of delightfully pretentious hipster nosh would you like?

If you're available for lunch, then go at once to the kings cross lunctime food market. The website is here: http://www.kerbfood.com/kings-cross/ I'm probably going today. They have arguably the best bbq and burgers in London attending regularly. Capish, who until recently did the food at hegg's film nights, are there today and do really nice stuff.

Pitt Cue Co in soho do bbq, and is always worth a look, though you really need to get there early to avoid a massive queue.

There's a brewdog in shoreditch (sorry) which has a man called texas Joe doing the food there. He does really really good bbq too. His brisket is sensational.

More grown up wise there's a place near you on Goodge St called the Newman St Tavern. I went there last week and had a really good dinner. It's a good mix of seafood and meat, I think their thing is that it's all sourced within the UK or something. Maybe not that good if you're alone though.

If you want more burgers near you then you can check out Honest, Patty and Bun and Dirty Burger are all good, despite whatever FUCKING Carlito might think.

Thanks Haggs. Some options there for sure. I've long wanted to go to Pitt Cue but I am put off by this idea of queuing. Queues are the pits. Do you see what I did there.

Not sure what I'll do really. I will be a bit spaced out from playing videogames all day so might just get whatever's quickest and nearest.

Diving in on randoms is what I do best.

I can probably meet you towards the end of your hour - just on my way home. I may have guests to entertain though, so I'll post up if I can get online for a bit.

I'll probably play a little on PC. Buh. Been getting some good rage mail lately. I wonder if that will lessen in the switch to steam instead? That appears to be underway; there's achievements on Steam for Super Street Fighter IV which weren't there before. No one has unlocked any yet, though. I guess they'll either transfer when the game transitions from GFWL or everyone's save files will be wiped? Haha!

There are some discounted fighting games on Xbox Live this week, though none of them were made by Capcom.

Soul Calibur II HD - £7.99 (why on earth was this not the original price instead of the ludicrous £15.99 they went with?)

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - £5.09

Soul Calibur V - supposedly discounted but it's not showing yet
