What is a "whiff"? I always thought it was a single attack that missed. But the Stunfest announcer shouting "nice whiff!" makes me think I am in the wrong here.

He means "whiff punish", i.e. reacting to a whiffed normal with something of his own. F-Word got a bit excited at times there and rather lost the run of himself.

Isn't whiff punishing on reaction almost impossible? Like, looking at frame data I'm not sure it's within someone's reaction time. I always assumed it was more a predictive thing based on spacing/ opponent patterns. Can someone who's whiff punished something confirm this.

Then again xao hai can apparently hit confirm cammy cr.mk into spiral arrow which I'm not sure should be humanly possible.

Whiff punishing is a mixture of anticipation and reaction, though when juicebox pointed this out in his guide to footsies people got all upset at him for saying so.

Ultra Street Fighter 4 will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store on June 3rd. The digital version of the game comes at a price tag of $14.99 USD.

Just the xbox. I'm sure I'll be able to get one in time. It's not even a week after Mario Kart though! Not gonna have time to gamepad it during a 3v3 lobby!

So excited for MK7. So excited. My housemate is a monster at MK Wii and it really upsets me. Whenever we've talked about games she's said all the standard non-video game player things about being "good at" Mario Kart and owning a Wii and being "good at" Tekken back in the day. So when Mario Kart was set up during pre-drinking for a night out a couple of months ago, I was not remotely prepared for the severity of the beatdown I received. All the short cuts, all the time trialling, all the things. She is an absolute beast and I could not compete. I could only win convincingly on Koopa Cape because it is my favourite track on that version and I have time trialled it to death. Aside from that I was terrorised from start to finish. Humbling it was.

Incidentally, despite being a Mario Kart whizz and an enthusiastic Wii owner with about 20 games and four remotes etc. she was not only unaware of MK8's imminent arrival, she was unaware of the very existence of the Wii U or what it was. I had to show her mine before she believed me that it existed. Just a fantastic marketing job on the Wii U from Nintendo there. Deary me.

I assume it will be too short notice to organise a Heggstravaganza for it? We need to do something. I won't be able to take part in many lobbings due to my ongoing 5 housemates all using the internet issue. I imagine there will be SFO House 1, 2 and 3 (there's a 3 now!) sessions all day eeerrr'day for that first week, but I want to share it with my original online Streetfightin' pals also. What are we to do about this gentlemen?
