Ultra Street Fighter IV

Yeah you can air grab it but your timing has to be impeccable. Chun can do it but i have never landed it in a match as EX SBK is a much less risky soliution. I imagine EX flash kick would beat it too. The ultra has a decent hitbox but it isn't nearly as good as you'd think if you just went by its appearance.

I've had both FK and U1 beaten by it, but again maybe it's a timing thing. Can obviously punish after the entire Ultra, but that doesn't avoid the Chip. Gonna practice the Air Throw. Assume Back Throw would be best due to its larger vertical hitbox.

When is Hypespotting? Is it today?

Also, I know it's been discussed in here many times but can anyone advise on Homeplugs? Basically our Virgin wireless router doesn't reach all of the house so we need something to carry the signal to a couple of rooms (two or three) where the wifi refuses to work.

Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Homeplugs are the best.

The stated bandwidth is lies though - you want to go big. I've got 200mbs ones delivering high speed niche pornography and latency free online disappointment to my man-cave.

Pretty sure that there is little performance difference between the swanky branded guys and their ugly grey market cousins too so save your pennies.

Get all the Mbps you can afford. I have a pair of 100mbps that can't handle 1080p so got a pair of 500s and they're fantastic.

You'll need something to act as a second access point as well, mind. I use an old (pre-superhub) virgin router with the same network name and password as the superhub.

Anyway! Best of luck to all at hypespotting today. I have family over this weekend but I'll be all over the archives next week.

We are playing Ultra and I just did Guile ultra 1 against a cross up and the first hit connected, then Guile turned around and just did the rest of the ultra in the opposite direction for all hits. Ig, you would have loved it.

Joffo and JLM both played well but none of us made it out of pools. JLM was so close though.

That sounds amazing! Envious.

Congratulations to all of you. Been at work all day, bit so wish I could've cheered you on.

So how do you think you played, dude?

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knew where I could pick up a cheap (but passable) arcade stick for the PS3?

Was going to mod my te round 1, but I think I'm going to hold off on that until a decent solution comes out that includes the ps4 and xbone.

Any help would be great!

Hypespotting UMVC3 spoiler:

I honestly thought 1up Miles was going to pull it out the bag towards the end there. His play over the course of his ascent through the losers' bracket was super solid and made most of his opponents look pretty inferior, but it's always difficult to bet against WhiteBl4ck. Very much a real match though and finals nerves result in lots of hype :)

Is competitive UMVC3 a bit stale these days? Like MVC2 it feels like we've hit a critical mass of players choosing the best six or eight characters, though it's not quite on the level of Magneto/Storm/Sentinel of old. It's still fun to watch as a spectacle but I do wonder for how much longer its appeal will hold.

I guess there needs to be another big-selling fighter to take its place first - Injustice seems to have fallen off the map, Blazblue/P4A/etc are not that popular in the west and also completely incomprehensible to non-players, and Killer Instinct seems to have vanished following a lot of pre-release hype.

So what you're saying is we need Tekken 7 ASAP, agreed :)

Time for Breakers to take its rightful place at last.

SFO OMH v Blaydon Ryu was superb. Full of great reads - OMH repeatedly goes for the Oni air backdash to try and bait out a shoryuken from Ryu and he doesn't bite once; the one time OMH goes for air tatsu instead he gets knocked out of the air. Blaydon Ryu could've tied it up but choked right at the very end of the round with a terrible jump-in, and then it was all OMH with a stunning series of reads.

SFO dream still alive let's go

Hypespotting SFIV

LET'S GOOOOOO

OMH running rampant through losers' bracket. Just dispatched Blaydon Ryu, then Problem X, now up against F-Word, the winner of whom faces Ryan Hart for a place in the Grand Finals.

It feels so close and yet that's two more matches before you even hit the final.

Hype spotted!
