Wow, Big Band is amazing. Maybe I'll get Skullgirls again and never play it.

I used to be good at jab hands and now I'm dreadful. ALSO! I always hit LT when I hit HP, even when just starting a combo with a sole HP. I had those buttons disabled entirely on xbox so I never noticed. Guh. I might leave it on to try and discipline myself. I need to do some drills on performing motions facing right too.

Those three empty character slots on capcom's site for Ultra; are they nothing? Time-unlocked arcade characters? DLC? PS4 exclusive mans? More Dolls?

Final Round:

So happy for Ryan. Haven't celebrated a grand finals result like that in a very long time. I absolutely love PR Rog these days (despite multiple people telling me he's an 'asshole' - seriously, all use the same word) so would have been happy with either winning, but to see Ryan turn it around after such a drubbing in the first set was great. He looked absolutely mindfucked after that, and I thought he was going to get steamrolled, but the second set was a perfect case study in adapting to your opponent. Marvellous stuff.

I haven't watched all of pools yet (the good thing about Capcom Pro Tour is that the day one stream is over 10 hours of solid Street Fighter) but the best thing I've seen so far was Velociraptor, who had his opponent down to 10% health and scored a hard knockdown. Charged up a meaty fireball, let it go with the correct timing. Turned out it was fierce fireball so it went straight over the opponent's head, the guy naturally woke up blocking so Velociraptor FADCed it and threw him for the win. So godlike. If I played Gouken I would steal it.

And just to weigh in on commentary, I have always defended James Chen but I'm starting to get annoyed with his frequent detours into explaining things for the layman and every time he says 'why block when you can uppercut' I picture Jason and Alistarr in their purple hoodies looking stern. If they are going to do solid 12-hour days it'd be nice to hear from some more people.

Also I am wearing a purple Superdry hoodie today, which not only makes me feel like part of Team Jellistar but also has me feeling a decade younger than I am. I might go buy a 3DS game from Sainsburys at lunch.

I have no idea why I'm still writing in spoiler tags.

I wasn't on the ball (top), and I've just seen the series of offers I've had for my PS3 stick. Big, big apologies to you all. strawdonkey was the first to reply, so I guess it's the fairest if he has it? Unless you all secretly hate him, like.

nuskool's the only one to ask about the Tekken stick, so he's welcome to it. For those who asked if it's an MC or a PS3-only board, the latter; Gremlin were out of MCs at the time. Sorry, guys.

I am giving my 360 to my nephew, leaving me with only a PS3. My TE stick only works on my 360, though I'm intending to get a converter board so that it will work on both platforms. Was waiting to see what options that include next-gen are available in the future though, which is why I wanted to get my foul hands on this.

If anyone else wants it more then they are totally welcome to jump in, first come first served isn't relevant if there's a more appropriate fight man home for it to go to :)

Strawdonkey I think we're all too nice and polite for anything but first-come-first-served to work. Be the bigger scumbag and take it! If you end up never using it you can always pass it on.

Also don't apologise for being an excellent person, Escaped!

I will just have to keep dreaming about playing that copy of Alpha 2 I won at Heggwest for a little while longer.

Here's one for the Gamerdisco guys from a while back...

I started a new job this week, few of the guys in the office play Street Fighter, they're pretty good. Today I had a couple of quick games with one guy who plays Zangief pretty well. Me as Guile. Fight isn't going so well for him, and he says something like "oh this is like that final at Gamerdisco."

I had to ask him to repeat himself. He explained, he was in the final against a Guile player, and lost...

There was a video posted in here that I think was PR fighting some guy at evo in the very early stages when there's scores of participants all lined up fighting on portable tvs and PR knows he's going to win the fight to such an extent he doesn't need to look at the screen, but it wasn't just that - he fucking eyeballs the guy throughout the match for the duration, not saying the word. It seemed pretty aggressive, definitely arrogant and I remember thinking "What an asshole."

Just catching up with some of the Gootecks and Mike Ross show which I haven't seen for a few weeks. Definitely recommend episode 9, like a dream lobby session with an all star cast, plus Noel Brown. I love the new cuddly Infiltration, and he provides the highlights of the ep.

It's strange to hear that about PR Rog, because he's so smiley. I do now remember James Chen (I think) talking on commentary about aggressive play and mentioning that Rog was an aggressive person. I kind of presumed he meant in a force-of-personality kind of way.

Super-arrogant, but I don't think it's malicious - just showboating.

Anyway, the related videos brought me to the following, which you should watch only the five or so seconds from 5:38 onwards, just to see Chris G being a ridiculous man with headsets:

That might be fun! A bit easier than HOG to get to. Looks like there's only one machine there though, so not much chance of some casuals (although they mention getting some future nights started on the FB page).

I'll sleep on it but I might sign up tomorrow. I still feel bad about not going to HOG more regularly, but then I am nearly 30 and it's probably not going to stop me being single (sorry is that too real? Difficult week).

Oh dear, I'd like to do that, but I'm off out to one of your nightclubs to see eats everything on the 29th, and I'm almost certainly going to spend all of sunday sat immobile on the sofa trying to stave off tears. I am nearly 30 years old and am not single and as such have no time for childrens videogames whatsoever :( Enjoy your freedom joe.

I'm going to Dotori in finsbury park for dinner tonight though, and that will be good. I think I'll be in hegg's neck of the woods. I hope I see him.

Just went 0-12 against a Blanka using ultra 2, and I think if ever my desire to play this game returns then we will finally have conclusive proof that this is the best game ever made. There could be no other explanation for me still wanting to play.

Joffocakes used to be the forum example of someone playing on a standard 360 pad and still beating most of us handily. His was customised with cat stickers, though, so it's possible that it had extra power. Sith uses a fancy 360 pad with the rotating D-pad to kill people with Hawk.

Wolfkrone uses a PS3 pad, by the way, and I think Snake Eyez uses a Madcatz pad now. Vipers and Zangiefs are the most frequent pad players, I think - some of Viper's stuff is easier and SPDs are supposedly quicker to spin on a half-decent pad than an arcade stick - plus nobody can hear you churning that butter!
