They look like good offers. I have been thinking about getting into X-Wing for a while now. Would my 0 year old be able to play it do you think?

Whats a good starting set up?  Starter setx2 or starter set and a few other ships?

You can have great fun with a single core set, just learning the rules on a small surface.

The recommended set up I decided on after research was:

2 core sets - Much cheaper than the individual ships would cost and gives you all the extra dice and gubbins you need.

1 x rebel Y-Wing

1 x rebel B-Wing

1 x Tie Advanced

1 x Tie Interceptor.

That sets you up nicely for a decent sized game, presuming you don’t mind investing in Rebel and Imperial factions.

Since then I also got the Millennium Falcon, Slave 1 and Punishing One. Just because they look great, were on sale and I have nothing else to do with my time or money while cooped up at home.

You could definitely strip it back a bit and play without upgrades etc. at first. Just get used to flying the ships and attacking with them. Add stuff as your 10 y/o becomes comfortable. I'd say that would be easily manageable.

Well sure, by the same token that you could do that with any game. I guess if Star Wars appeals thematically, knock yourself out.

Ha ha yes, 10!

10 is fine for X-wing. Don't go nuts with the crazy combo upgrades, but to be honest 10 years old is plenty old enough to understand the full rule set, with a short ramp up.

I really fancy it but also nursing a dying man is not the right ambience for right now.

Well, I bought it so you can either borrow mine or play with me and Donk. Given how your brain works mind, I'm not sure it's the best idea.

A quirky game on the Gameslore clear out site. Mea Culpa is only £7.50, an interesting game about buying your way to heaven. You carry out actions (sin) during the game to gather indulgences so you can buy your way to heaven at the end. Action selection game with great artwork and pieces. I got mine at Essen a few years ago.

There are some other interesting games on the same site. It's worth a look.

That one seems to be out of stock now.

Yeah seems so, I grabbed two (one for me and a pirate loving friend)

I'm tempted by megaman for the figures but I heard the game is rubbish (maybe good solo!) waiting for it to drop even lower...

They have Mythos Tales there for £10 and I was thinking of getting Consulting Detective to play with a couple of friends. Has anyone played Mythos Tales? How does it stack up against CD, which I've heard is supposed to be very good.

TK Maxx has this and a Tie Fighter one if that's any good to anyone.

The RRP for that is nowhere near £29.99. £12.99 is a fair price, but it's not cheap.

I do have a feeling that TK Maxx is going to really go to town on board games (etc.) for Christmas this year though. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.
