There’s two Red Dwarfs now?

The "across various media" point probably means Grant will be able to release books or whatever without needing the need to tie in with the show, or requiring approval from Naylor, or vice versa. The books have always had their own take on the story anyway.

TV Red Dwarf has gone from being a fresh, sharp sci-fi comedy with some really thoughtful ideas to a bunch of fat old men being silly and having fun. And I'm fine with that.

Ganymede and Titan interviewed Rob Grant. It's a podcast, but there's also a text transcript:

Try and spot me in the comments, under a cunningly disguised username and avatar, getting carried away with speculation even though I promised I wouldn't.

Doug Naylor, meanwhile, said some vague stuff to the Radio Times: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/sci-fi/red-dwarf-return-new-episodes-exclusive-newsupdate/
