Ha ha who negged you for that? Someone doesn't like the Worms games.

On a different note; completed Hotline Miami last night, including the alternative ending. Great game. Not sure if I can be bothered putting the hours in to get A+ on all levels for the platinum trophy though.

I need to get back to Hotline Miami and finish it.

In other news there seem to be a few decent releases over the next couple of weeks.

Stealth Inc, Superfrog HD, PJ Monsters.

I loved PixelJunk Monsters on the PSP, so will be picking that up at some point...

Just Platinumed Soul Sacrifice, like all MH games it's only really worth it if you have friends to play with. Still one of the best examples in the genre though I think I hit about 82hrs all of which were really enjoyable. Although I think it takes a bit of time to hook you once you get going it's fantastic, highly recommended.

So I've just joined the Vita club: hooray!

I'm after a few types of games please:

- Games with interesting mechanics

- Games that can be played in multiplayer across two (or more) Vitas

- The absolute best games (preferably exclusive to Vita)

I've had PS+ for about 2 months so I've amassed a few games but feel free to shoot some past me.

Cheers in advance.

Persona 4 Golden. No matter what you buy get this first. Kind of indirect multiplayer in a few different cool ways so that still counts.

If you don't like it I'll even buy it off you so I have 2 copies in case one should ever break.

A few more that aren't on ps+ (but totally non-essential if you have P4:Golden), all of them have fantastic multiplayer :

Everybody's Golf (you can get this really cheap 2nd hand on cart, think it cost me £8 )

Wipeout (with the extras and even better if you have the PS3 version)

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (if you like fighters, it seems to be a bit hard to find for a decent price at the minute but for me was worth full price)

Disgaea 3 just because I can't imagine playing a game like that for any period of time in front of a telly, but on the Vita it was 100 hours that just disappeared.

Persona 4 because Persona 4.

Hotline Miami because I haven't been able to play anything else since I got it

Everybody's Golf because I bought a Vita for it and I'd still be happy if it was the only game I had on it pretty much.

This is one I hadn't considered yet, I've never played any of them. Is it likely to be too much for a newcomer or can I start straight onto it?

Persona 4 Golden for reasons

Everybody's Golf since it's easy to get into and the online activity is great

If you've got a 3G model with the Wipeout offer then there's no harm in getting that (although it's a fine game at any price)

I still think Gravity Rush is one of the Vita standouts; amazing visuals and a great sense of freedom and movement

Also check the store for download-only titles such as Jet Set Radio and EDF and see what you like the look of. :)

Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs is a bit of an overlooked gem. A launch title that cost less than a fiver, and is still one of my favourites. It's like a 2D Katamari with blobs, some really nice gameplay mechanics in there too.

But yeah, Persona 4 is a must.

I'd only played the previous one on PSP, and loved that coming into it with no real idea what the series was about. It's totally accessible for a newcomer and pretty much as deep as you want to go strategy-wise. Get get get!

I am in the market for a Vita but I can not decide whether or not the 3g version is worth the money. For 3g to work I presume I need a contract with a supplier like T-Mobile. Do games use 3g?

Only for leaderboards and asynchronous play (like Everybody's Golf). It's a bit redundant, really. Soon you'll be able to tether off your 4G mobile on any network for proper online gaming anyway.

Oh, and you need to pay a monthly sub (although I'd get an Ovivo SIM for £15 with free web every month after that).

I can't imagine any reason the 3G version would be worth the extra when you could spend it on a cartridge game (that you could then trade in against something new if it's going to show up on ps+). I've never tried tethering to my mobile for multiplayer but I know it doesn't work well on any wifi hotspot I've ever tried, depends on the speeds obviously but the Vita connection test was giving results around 3mbit which I assumed would be enough, latency was too high maybe.

Cheers, that'll be my next one once payday arrives. Already spent all my spare cash on the thing since I bought it a few weeks ago. Don't regret it at all though, fantastic console.

Wait till you see how glorious the PSP Ratchet and Clank game looks on the Vita's screen from that pack. It's made me think very hard about repurchasing some of the best PSP games for the new machine. I paid £30 for that pack and I don't begrudge a penny of it, £15 is insane.

I'm thinking of getting a vita fairly soon. I'm in Japan and am mainly interested in playing Japanese games on it but I'm wondering would it be possible for me to download the occasional game from the European PS store too? Or are you limited to downloading games from your own region?

If it is possible, how much of a headache would setting it up etc be?

There are some PSP games in particular where the European download is a fraction of the price of the Japanese one.

You've got to have separate memory cards for each region and it involves restoring them every time you switch. I considered it but the price of them is the one thing that's still a complete piss take on the Vita.

I really hope they don't have some sort of reliance on the cards for PS4 remote play, not needed for the PS3 yet but hopefully that's not the reason the smaller card is being phased out.

Mixing Japanese accounts is more complicated because you have to change the system language between Japanese and English every time. Besides, it's neither convenient nor actually desirable to go through all that hassle every time you decide to pay a game on a different account.

If you want to play Japanese game cards, then by all means you can play them on a EU account as the cards themselves are not locked. If you absolutely need japanese and eu store access than a second Vita would be better but obviously more of an investment. Personally I went with that option and have Plus accounts for both regions, but I was sufficiently motivated to do so at the time. You being in Japan means it's more or less as cheap to buy a new unit in Japan than to buy a used one in the uk, so it may be worth checking out prices on used ones. Or picking up a used one later if you like the machine and decide to have two.

See I'm the opposite, i'm finding it being on handheld is holding me back. I've had it since it came out but I'm still not finished with the story. With Disgaea 4 I could play it for much longer periods of time so got more done. I guess this is because I would do longer and more complex item worlding and character development on ps3 whereas on Vita I have to do shorter runs and less messing about with characters.
