I dropped a couple of tweets about Tokyo Jungle (one today mentioning its release and another a few days ago mentioning its existence (and the fact that it looks awful)) but I don't think I'll be going for it ;)

I'm still revisiting P4G saves at the moment, and still putting off another replay. :P

Last week I joined PSN and paid for PSPlus. However, I see no games cued up anywhere, and no method of adding any of the free games to my account. Am I doing something wrong? I don't have a Vita as of yet, but hopefully next month.

So what's the best racer on Vita? I used to love Ridge Racer on the PSP. I don't really play racing games on my consoles but for handheld I tend to really enjoy them.

Never been a fan of Wipeout which I got free with the megapack but Need for Speed looks pretty good. Is the Vita RR really as bad as the reviews make out?

Vita Ridge is fine - it's just a bit light on content for a 20 quid game. It's a lot cheaper now though, and you can get the one with all the extra content.

Most Wanted is probably the best, bar WipEout. WRC3 is utter guff, so avoid that one at all costs.

Hey guys, public beat sign-ups for Killzone Mercenary are available here - https://psnbeta.eu.playstation.com/userInfo.php?enroll=kzm_public_limited

Get it. It's great.

It truely is! I got an invite to the first private beta, it's amazing looking and plays pretty well (not played enough to give it full marks yet). For the first few matches I just ran around in disbelief, there is some kind of witchcraft going on to get a game looking so good and running multiplayer over WiFi. (most of the great Vita games disable the network stuff to give them a bit more oomph).

Another vote for NFS Most Wanted... Very enjoyable racer

Yesterday as my family were eating dinner, a song from Evita came on the radio and the conversation went like this:
My sister: "I like Evita."
My niece: "Daddy's got Evita."
My sister: "No he hasn't."
My niece: "Yeah he has, he was playing on it earlier."
My sister: "Ohhh... a Vita."

And the consensus was 3G is mostly pointless right? I'd think so..

I think one of the real problems here is the cost of these memory cards. I know that's been much discussed but for someone looking at buying one that is probably the biggest problem with it.

How big are the games generally? What's an average for the battery life?

3G is largely pointless for most people. You can't download from PSN or play online, it's just for leaderboards and asynchronous play (like in Everybody's Golf). I've hardly used it, and any time I have used it I could have just tethered to my phone.

For memory cards, just suck it up and get a 32GB, especially if you're getting PS+. Some games are up to 3GB, most hover around 1GB. When you get a few of the amazing PSN titles on there though, then pick up some PS1 and PSP titles cheap in a sale, it all adds up.

Yup, 3G's pretty much pointless. The design's unlikely to be updated for quite a while, I'd have thought. And in terms of price, I think that new-ish bundle - which represents a significant drop in price with added value - isn't likely to be bested for quite some time (see http://direct.asda.com/Consoles-Bundles/3702122,default,sc.html?psortb1=price&psortd1=1 for an example - compare the new Mega Pack to the old (still on sale) bundles).

The memory card prices are shocking. Hopefully someone here can point you to decent deals, but the cards are piss-takingly priced. I get round it sour-facedly by only having an 8GB card, then downloading stuff and either backing it up (via included software and cable) to my Mac and/or PS3 (same deal with a PC), then just having four or five games on the card at a time, and not having to d/l them again if I want to swap around in future. Works well enough.

The games vary greatly in size, but the biggest I've downloaded is about 3-ish (?) GB. I think P4G might be bigger, but I bought that on card. It's the only title I've done that for, mind. The rest are all off PSN, and those I haven't played (or haven't played for a while) are just backed up ready for transfer on the PS3 or Mac.

Battery life playing most games seems to be 4-5 hours. But my unit's shit on standby for some reason, which I understand is not typical. I usually just switch it off when I'm not using it.

I always leave mine on standby and it doesn't have any noticeable effect on the battery life.

You can get away with a 16gb card as long as you're happy being limited to having 10 or so games at once on the card, which isn't too bad. It does mean you can't have too many of the bigger games installed at once though (Uncharted, Wipeout, MGS2/3 are all 2-3gb each).

What features would people expect/want from a redesign? I can't think of that much that I'd like to change, really. Maybe some way of playing Vita games on the TV with the PS4 being used to display it in a higher resolution, but god knows if that's even feasible (I'm guessing it isn't).

Yeah, I'd have said my battery is rimmed - it didn't used to be this bad (or bad at all) in standby, as you say yours isn't - but then it fairly suddenly plummeted and started lasting (and still lasts) only about 24 hours in standby, which is obviously dire. I did turn off all services I could think of - auto backup to the cloud, Near, notifications, pretty much everything really - but it hasn't helped at all. The thing that makes me think it's not the battery per se, though, is that I still get around the same life from a full charge - about 4-5 hours - when playing. It's just that standby basically doesn't work.

Odd, I know.
