I'd rather have a proper sequel to T2K. Or Llamatron would be nice with twin sticks. I never did get along with the backwards Tempest gameplay of Space Giraffe.

Haven't played Tempest 2000 to be able to judge, but I did love Space Giraffe regardless.

It had moo'ing. Moo!

Where are people getting their Vita's from? Simply Games have the wifi version for £169 which seems pretty good, anyone found it cheaper? And to those that bought the 3G version, do you feel it was worth it?

Buster broon has just put one in the sales thread including a 32gb card if your still looking.

Would people play a vita game using the touch screen that required the screen to be portrait rather than landscape?

Depends entirely on the game, ideally you'd need to be able to place the Vita flat on a table or something. Otherwise it will just be uncomfortable at best, painful at worst.

T2K on Vita would be amazing. I've emulated it on Project Tempest and...well, it runs like shit, but I later played a remake called Typhoon 2001 that's pretty close to the Jaguar original and it's still pretty good fun. :)

Looks like I may be picking up a second Vita soon. Lucas wants to swap all his Skylanders for one. I was rather surprised to see some of them still have a decent amount of value.

I did notice I am at the limit of registered devices for my PSN account though. Some are old PSP units. Has anyone one ever deactivated all their systems before? Will I have any issues when reactivates the bits I still have? PS3, my Vita and then the new Vita.

Just deactivate them all, the licences will go to your next logins no problem. I did it before to remove my dead phat.

Can someone give me a quick vita guide? Which version should i get? wifi or 3g? I don't have a ps3, if I sign up to psn do I get access to these free games? Do I just download them onto the vita?

Does a psn account carry over to a ps4 if I get one later on?

we don't know yet.

If your phone can share it's internet over wifi, you don;t need to worry about 3g. You can access and download all Vita content from the Vita itself, but not see ps3 content (unless it's cross buy supported).

Your account will work on all Sony consoles, and some other Sony devices. Theres no reason to expect your account won't work on ps4, Sony aren't that stupid.

Just to add that if you buy Plus you can, and should add the ps3 Plus games by using the web store to do it. That way if you ever get a ps3, you'll be able to access the past Plus games from the day you started.

Best bet is to use the webstore for all PSN purchases, especially on PS+ as you can check them all out and if you get a PS3 later, you can still get those free games.

To be honest a WiFi is fine, but yes, you just download to the Vita directly via the download list.

I imagine it will carry across in some fashion, but no details yet. However, the Vita part of PS+ will unlikely be affected too much.

A standard ps3 PSN game will only work on ps3.

However Some games are 'cross buy', which means buying one version will get you the other for free. However this works differently depending on the game. IIRC a digital only game will usually give you both versions for the price of one, but digital versions of retail games (and the disc versions of same) will give you the Vita game for free with the ps3 copy, but not the other way around.

example1: Motorstorm RC gives you both versions for the price of one.

example2: The new Sly game comes with the Vita version as a free download with the ps3 version (either from the store or the disc version), but the retail Vita copy does not include a ps3 download.

I have Vita. It's lovely. Velocity looks so much better than on PSP (and definitely better than PS3!)

I've been doing that new console thing of playing around with settings and blasting through games for quick looks. I need a bigger card, but I have enough on there to be going on with. Mutant Blobs is pretty neat. Trying to find a camera setting in the sweet spot for Pinball Arcade, but not satisfied yet, think I just need some more time with it.

I wasn't expecting much from the Minis given how they look on PS3 but was amazed at how nice they are on the Vita. Where is My Heart? is pin-sharp and fucking gorgeous.

Waiting for the Velocity re-release though since I didn't get it first time around.

Anybody played Rocketbirds on Vita? Interested in some forumite views. It's only a fiver so I'll prolly go for it anyway, as it looks pretty enough. But how does the gameplay hold up?

I liked it. Gameplay-wise it's similar to Flashback and Oddworld. The movement is close to both of those games and there are parts where you take over the minds of enemies and control them. There's a bit of a puzzle element to most of the levels involving crates, keycards and automated guns. Shooting is done with the right trigger and you juggle the enemies with each shot which can feel quite satisfying. There are a few levels with a jetpack that plays a bit like a space shooter that break up a gameplay a bit. They felt a bit tacked on to me, but they're nice enough.

I felt like I got through it quite quickly, but I didn't pay much attention to how many hours I was actually playing it for. There is a quite a bit of replay though, especially if you like trophies. There are 3 red squares on each stage to find, but they only reveal themselves once you've collected the one before it. Some are a bit trickier to get that others too as you can't reach them yourself... The levels can be revisited at any time once you've completed them so it's easy to have a quick bash at completing a task for a trophy.

There's a "hardboiled" mode that I haven't played yet where you're armed with limited ammo and knife. There's also a co-op mode that I haven't played yet as I haven't got any friends.

I found it a little difficult to get grips with at first as you see the depth of the ledges, but he doesn't grab it where I expected him to. Once I got my head round that it was alright though. Aiming grenades is a bit finicky too as you use the rear touchpad and isn't implemented that well. I guess they were trying to make use of the hardware feature, but it would have been nice to have the choice of the front touchscreen as well.

I'd say it was worth the asking price, but I won't be too surprised if it appears on PlayStation Plus in the not too distant future. If you've got a PS3 there's a trial on there that you can try out (I didn't bother personally) or you can play one level of the Flash game that it originated from here: http://www.rocketbirds.com/revolution.php. That's actually the second level in the Vita version and bear in mind that it isn't fully representative of the Vita version as you can't run, the scenery is more repetitive and there a lot more switches.
