How do you know you are in breakout mode?

I've had smoke appear a few times that is dissipated with the rear touch panel, related?

To get Kickout mode activated (the rear touch panel breakout thing) you have to match 7 gems in one chain. IIRC the screen glows blur. If you activate Kickout AND Score Frenzy in one game, you get Dark mode at the end when the time runs out. This is when black smoke covers the screen, and it can dissipated by touching the rear panel. The game plays as normal, so any time bonuses extend the timer as normal.

The score bonus at the end of the round is linked to how many crystals you destroy during the game. The more crystals you destroy, the bigger the multiplier gets. If you have the points bonus active, this ups this even more. For instance, when I got 180 mill last night, 42 mill of that was purely from this bonus. :)

The only small issue is that you can't buy with a credit card, you have to buy US PSN credit from an online retailer and credit your account that way. I use these guys, they send the code via email usually within the hour: http://maximuscards....ilitem?p=197939

I found PCGameSupply sell these, which works out cheaper than Maximus. Have only used them once so far, but they were fine. :)

Anyone else thinking of going back to EG to try the turn-based challenge mode in the update? Not sure if the game's still on my homescreen as I'm always adding and removing bits and pieces, but it sounds like a nice thing to enjoy when people can't all get online at the same time...

It plays like shit on Android too. I despise on screen controls.

Would love to be able to have on PS3 (love the Xbox version) and continue on Vita. Online too, with chat! Can you imagine? I'd double dip on that in a second.

And the way to do that and say fuck hi to MS at the same time is for Sony to run the servers and to make the cross play online using them a PS PLUS feature.

Do they email the codes?

Yep, I've used them three times now and as long as the address is set to US (anything, I grabbed a restaurant's in Oregon!) when you check out they'll be sent straight away. One caveat, I use a VPN service at the same time as I purchase to make double sure. One time I left my UK address in and it stopped the purchase, so I changed it straight away (on the same page using 'edit delivery address') and it allowed it through immediately, so I don't think they're that strict. Plus, my email is UK-based.

Just give it a go if you have an account, first time I tried it was a $10 card just in case :)

Just to say i do this without the vpn using a fake US physical address and it is all good. amazon email the code straight away.

I've had the opposite!

My PSP Go could be on standby for ages. My Vita was charged at the weekend, I hadn't used it until I fancied some ToMB last night and it was completely drained.

You may have been hit by the dreaded battery vampire! The vita's standby mode is very low power and it will hold a charge for a really long time. However sometimes at night it will hang (my 3G used to do this a lot but it's got better with latest firmware) when it hangs it rinses the battery until it shuts down (like some kind of infinite loop). I've often wondered if ToMB was the culprit in these instances as at the time it was the game that was active when the system went into standby. Which kind of makes sense as ToMB may update your scores to the server during sleep if it gets caught in some shenanigans at that point it may well drain the battery.

I've also heard some users suggest that there's a difference between standby mid game and pressing the PS button to return to the dashboard and then going into standby.

Used the PS+ freebie as an opportunity to play MGS2 again and to my amazement this is the first time I've actually 'got' it.

Previously I had inched my way frustratedly through the levels either trying to run around the guards patrol patterns (loads of boring waiting) or painstakingly trying to line up long distance headshots that would inevitably miss and result in a Benny Hill chase caper with the guards.

Now what I have realised you do is just bowl through the levels strangulating people or else pulling a gun on them from behind to perform a hold up then planting your dart smack between their eyes at your leisure! It's about a hundred times more fun!
