Yeah.. it's a comparison I'm making because the 3DS XL is currently on offer here for 150 EUR. But it's not worth it. A Vita at 250 EUR is better value. Just can't bring myself to order it when you know full well there's a price cut coming :-/

We have no TV, and when we did have one I could never game on it because the Mrs wanted to watch something on it..

This is bollocks by the way. The 3DS is fantastic and has some awesome games.

Get this - both the vita and 3DS are excellent hand helds! who woulda thought it? Comparisons between the two are pretty pointless.

I bought P3 when it was reduced last June I think, and that was £13.99.

That's a lot more reasonable, seems to be about the same price as the UMD these days. £24 is crazy considering most other PSP games seem to be about £8. I guess June is a fair while back so maybe there'll be another sale by the time I've got through the bountiful PS Plus stuff. You'd think now might be a good time with the interest in the new one though.

Virtua Tennis 4 is, unexpectedly, one of the best things I've played on my Vita.

Yeah I haven't played one since the DC days but assumed they must've been bettered by now. Skimming through the thread both that and Everybody's Tennis seem to have lots of fans so maybe I'll just flip a coin on it!

Virtua Tennis plays a proper good game of tennis though. I was thoroughly underwhelmed with Everybody's Tennis - very charming and with lots of character, but I didn't find it all that great to play. It isn't to tennis what EG is to golf in my opinion, which is a fantastic little game.

Did you play it through to the higher levels though? I thought the opening few areas were very easy but at later levels the depth really shines. Fair play if you did. :)

199 Euros is about £170.

I've got a brilliant value and very well looked after 3G Vita for sale. :eyebrows:

http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1555.l2649

:( Now sold.

Hi everyone - just a quick hello, it was me that picked up Epcotman's nicely priced Vita earlier in the week, in theory because a mate utterly sold the virtues of Persona 4 to me; somehow since then I have also acquired;

1) Playstation Plus for a year

2) A 240gb SSD in order to upgrade the creaking 40gb HD in my PS3

3) Mass Effect 3/Wipeout 2048/Gravity Rush and various other freebies from Plus

4) A Netflix subscription (mainly on the assumptions there'd be a Vita app for it, oops)

5) Tokyo Jungle (just for the hell of it)

6) Sleeping Dogs (see above)

Its also offered a nice insight into the virtues of playing FFVII, GPolice and Tekken 2 in bed, so all in all, I think it's fair to say I'm have more fun on the gaming front than I have for a few years now, and, tbh, a re-engagement with Sony that I never thought was going to happen.

Now I just need PSO2 :)

Sorry, to clarify, I had the SSD hanging around as it was left over from a previous upgrade on my laptop. Originally I was going to trade it in, but the timing worked out quite nicely, and the 40gig just wasn't going to cut it in light of Playstation Plus!

Welcome aboard the Vita train.

You'll soon be buying up as much as possible when you realise how wonderful the library is.

However get ToMB and get great gaming for free instantly. Better than Bejeweled

Virtua is good and my current vita game to of choice but that's mainly because I od'd on everybody's tennis about six months ago.

Whilst I love both, if you had any love for Super Tennis on the SNES you have to buy Everybodys. If not and you like your sports games a might bit realistic go with Virtua.

In our local Intertoys both 3DS XL and PSVita were €187 recently. Although the Vita comes without a memcard.

And the 3DS XL is a great machine with some lovely Nintendo magic on it. At the moment I only play the Vita because of Persona 4 Golden, but I've spent many hours on the 3DS and will spend loads more when Luigi's Mansion 2 and Animal Crossing arrive.

I bought a Vita this week from the Trading Thread. Its a wonderful bit of kit.

Its the first H/Held I have owned where the games have been console quality, not kind of parred down stuff.

The screen is amazing, I'm currently playing through Uncharted.

As a few people have bought recently, any chance of an up to date 'must play' list from you guys who have owned one for a while?

Phew, there's loads.

Unit 13 is a cracking shooter and Persona 4 is possibly the best RPG I've ever played. Then there's WipEout 2048, Motorstorm RC (a must seeing as it's so cheap), Everybody's Golf (even if you don't like golf), and Gravity Rush. Some great Indie titles too - Mutant Blobs is probably the best, a wonderful little game that only costs a few quid.

There aren't many duffers on the Vita truth be told, just avoid COD like the fucking plague.

The screen really does make a difference, going back to the 3DS this week due to getting Sonic Generations on the cheap, and it looks terrible with all the pixelation everywhere. It's taking me patience to play it.

Granted, theres lovely looking 3DS titles too, but I can't help wishing it has the Vita screen resolution. Even PSone titles from what I've played don't look bad on the darn thing.

I've just started Uncharted. Did they patch the controls so you don't have to use the touch screen?

I remember a few people moaning about the shoehorned controls but from my short time with it there always seems to be a traditional alternative.

If you like racing games, then NFS Most Wanted is a cracking game. For puzzlers, pick up the free Treasures of Montezuma Blitz. It's a brilliant match 3 game. Also free is Jetpack Joyride. Gravity Rush is brilliant too. Superstardust takes care of your twin stick shooter urges, and Sine Mora is a pretty good schmup

Thanks for the input on the tennis games everyone, looked into it further and realised Everybody's doesn't have online so I went for Virtua. I basically could've flipped a coin though as I do love stuff like Super Tennis and the daft RPG story fluff in things like Mario Tennis on the GBC as well.
