A glimmer of hope, the Vita is now outselling the Wii U in Japan (not that that's saying much, but still...)

In other news, Persona 4 Golden is still amazing. I strongly urge those normally not interested in JRPGs to take a look. I find most JRPGs boring as hell, but this is really something different.

I fully support this statement: as someone who doesn't usually like JRPGs, I'm over 30 hours into Persona 4 Golden and love it. No grinding required (at Normal difficulty and presumably below, at least),, and a focus on actually choosing what to do, who to speak to etc. rather than just pressing X through interminable cut-scenes and battles make it something special.

US PSN users (not sure if tenure comes into it) have all been given $10 to spend on the PSN store. As thanks for 'being a loyal customer and supporting the PSN'. Just check your messages, it expires on the 5th, so get a move on.

Valkyria Chronicles here we come! I wonder if the EU lot will get a similar reward. Anyone know if any other regions did?

Nothing for me :(

Will be interesting to see how Soul Sacrifice performs next week.

I got an email about it this morning. Unlike the rebate they did if you spent over $60 a few months ago the $10 credit comes as a message on PSN so I'll have to check how that works tonight.

It's a message attachment. You click* it and it takes you to the PS Store and automatically prompts you to accept the code, confirm the amount and it's added.

I'm not sure what to spend it on. I could get five Rock Band tracks... or maybe put it towards a game. :)

*X

EDIT: That's on PS3. I assume it works similarly on Vita.

I may be a bit weird. But I can't really get on with this PS+ stuff. It's the idea of my games being on a subscription leash. I really prefer having them and knowing they are mine 4 ever. No matter what happens, should I miss renewing or going mega poor or whatever. So I'm bailing out when it runs out in a couple of days.

Am I silly?

Not silly no. However,my attitude towards games has changed a lot. I see it now as throwaway entertainment. I play a game, then I am done with it. So for me, paying the equivalent of about £3 a month for a stream of games makes sense. Then IF there is something I really want to keep, I can buy that individual game.

It is helping me spend a lot less on games in a time when I can't really afford to drop a lot of cash on them.

Depends on how many times you're going to play Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Mutant Blobs, Chronovolt etc.

I know there are games on the system some people will play forever but I can't honestly see myself playing through most of the games offered so far more than once. So for me the idea that I can play numerous games for the cost of just one makes total sense.

But I got over my gaming hording compulsion a couple of years ago and get rid of everything once I've played it.

The thought of me having bought Uncharted: GA for £30+ playing it and for some reason deciding to keep that little cart is alien to me, maybe I'm the silly one though

The thing is, I haven't gotten round to playing Uncharted og Gravity Daze yet. Uncharted I don't really care about. But Gravity Daze is kind of special and something I feel is worth keeping. I try to only keep games which are special or different or mean something to me. So I don't keep everything. But I've been burnt hard by stuff I've sold years ago.

Makes sense. I have it the same way with music. Spotify etc. is good for checking stuff out. But I got to have it.

Keep your psplus and buy the games that deserve a box. For all the digital only title you'll get it will still be worth it. Then there's the B grade stuff like Mortal Kombat, that only a hardcore fan would want a box for but it's well worth a having. I've pick and choose my retail box games like this and have a healthy collection of titles that deserve a box Gravity Rush is one of them as is Uncharted as I'm a massive fan and really enjoyed it on Vita despite it's well documented flaws. Hopefully autocorrect hasn't garbled that too much, once again an update for chrome isn't playing nice with my phone...

Just jumped in looking forward to getting started. Anyone recommend a good supplier of 32gb cards please? I assume there are many bootlegs on eBay?

Cheers

I'm not sure there are any bootlegs yet. Expect to pay £60, moan about how expensive it is, justify the cost by looking at the difference in price between a 32gb And 64gb iPad. Feel a little better because you know there will be an option to go to 64 at a later date which won't (May not) require you to buy a new vita.

Once you've got passed all that you can enjoy a gaming juke box of awesomeness like no other.

Bootlegs? Not that I'm aware if yet, no. Cheapest is usually amazon at about £60 at the moment

Yeah I did a fair bit of searching but Amazon at £60 was the best I could do. Apparently some Argos's were doing them at £43 not so long back but the 32gb doesn't even have a page on their website now so it seems they've stopped selling them completely.
