Playstation Vita

I'm not sure any Konami game has appeared on EU PSPlus on PS3 or PSVita, I'd say it was a safe bet if they add anything it will be NLKS or some PS1 stuff (like they have on US Plus). Anyway £16 for two fantastic games - I've played them both on Vita and 3 is totally amazing and well worth double what you are paying.

Did I read something about the saves from PS3 HD Collection being compatible with the Vita version? Is it much of a faff to do?

That depends. Shifting saves to and from the cloud is easy enough — there's a Transfarring menu option — but I seem to remember that PS3 saves made before July 2012 can't be copied across due to the console version requiring an update.

I got the Platinum in Sound Shapes earlier today. I can't decide if Death Mode was terrible or not: the random placement of notes makes it largely a game of chance, yet finishing each stage was really satisfying.

That won't be a problem for me. Sounds perfect, thanks.

Isn't there some weird thing you have to do with MGS HD? Like create a ps3 save first before playing the vita version?

You just have to be connected to PSN and using the same account on both PS3 and Vita when you start the game for the first time and create the save file for transfarring to work.

Does anyone think there's much of a chance of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection appearing on Plus? This is what I mean by Plus cannibalising potential sales - I'm scared to buy stuff in case I get it free now.

I assume 3rd party stuff gets done on a publisher by publisher basis - have any Konami games been offered yet?

It's £16 on shopTo just now.

If it arrives on Plus, you can just sell it! Surely get most of your money back.

According to the PS blog Ragnarok Odyssey's been confirmed as a 20th February release on the Store - the same week as Persona 4!

I didn't even think it had a confirmed UK release at all. That's good news.

Hmmmm. reading some reviews it's a bit hit or miss. Still at 261mb the demo that I'm downloading should let me know if i'll like it. Where the hell is PSO2?

So I tried the Home Arcade thing and...hmm. I suppose I can't really complain too much given that it's a freebie, but the first few games on offer aren't going to pull players away from more accomplished downloads and physical releases. The download features three games - Scribble Shooter, Ice Breaker and Wipeout, but in terms of how they play there's very little that you haven't done before in other, better games.

Scribble Shooter is a fairly pedestrian vertical 2D shooter where everything has a hand-drawn, scribbly look. You can shoot enemies to get upgrades such as split-fire, lasers, a shield, etc, and by shooting further enemies in quick succession you build up a score multiplier. It's quite nice for a few minutes but after a while I started to wonder if that was all there was to the game, and the "music" was driving me mad.

Ice Breaker is Arkanoid or Breakout with penguins for players and ice-cubes for bats. The usual pickups are available - the sticky bat, the large bat, and extra lives - but it all seemed a little pedestrian (at least for the opening levels I played. I don't know if it's to do with the speed of the ball or the huge amount of space between the player and the wall of bricks, but it seems to take an age to clear one of the stages, and you don't get the same sense of urgency that was in the games that inspired it.

Wipeout was probably the most entertaining game of the three, but that's not really saying a whole lot. You get a choice of around three tracks, and there's one bit of background music. You complete a race and you win - or not - and then you're back to the main menu. There are no weapon pickups in any of the tracks; only a few speed boosters. Meanwhile, the ships look a bit weedy and everything's so dull and industrial that it's hard to make things out. There doesn't even seem to be any animation or pretty lighting on the track, and it lacks the kind of bouncy prettiness of classic top-down racers - it's all a bit too srs bsns for me :(

I think that Home Arcade has potential as a platform if the right people get on board, but at the moment there's not much worth recommending...

Now that the sale is live, can anyone answer my question about whether MLB 12 The Show and SFxT are any good? Want to purchase them ASAP if they're any good

Been playing MLB this afternoon, really like it. It's not easy though. You will need to invest some time.
