Will be looking forward to PSO, loved it on the Dreamcast. Last time I played it.

Couple of games I am after, just cannot afford for a good while.

Persona 4 Golden

Virtues Last Reward

Really itching to play. So if anyone is selling either when done, then let me know.

I'm going to have the opportunity to pick up a used US Visa for US$189 in the next couple of days.

Given that I live in a PAL (Australia/NZ) region, I guess I won't be able to buy local software for it, but that doesn't bother me too much as it really doesn't seem to have taken off down here. I'm happy to buy all my stuff from overseas mailorder. I'm not so sure about any PS store restrictions though. Any tips?

So.. can anyone convince me to buy one? I'm nearly there, but am just a bit nervous about region restrictions and there only being a few titles in the current library that I'm interested in.

Retail copies of games are almost entirely region-free, so that's a non-issue.

Store items are region-locked, but your Vita's region isn't determined by its place of manufacture, but by your PSN account - so if you reset it and set it up with your account, you'll have access to the Australian store and its downloads. Alternatively, it's easy to set yourself up with a US PSN account if you'd rather have access to their store.

As for the library - well, that's something only you can decide on. The full compatibility with PS1 titles, and compatibility with most downloadable PSP titles - all of which tend to be fairly cheap - is worth knowing.*

*Tactics Ogre has been my most played game on my Vita to date

Merry Xmas my Vitamukers, just saw this and thought I'd share in the hope that this could be the best PSO yet.

I pray it sees a UK release and allows some offline solo grinding.

Looks interesting, but facepalm.gif at the touchscreen drag to increase the size of your nubile character's tits.

The only restrictions are that you need to get the DLC/Network passes for the region you buy the game for (eg: US game, US DLC)

As for convincing:

Stranger's Wrath HD

Sound Shapes

ecapeVektor

Gravity Rush

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

Uncharted: Fight For Fortune

Persona 4 Golden

Virtues Last Reward

Little Big Planet Vita

Wipeout 2048 + DLC

Everybody's Golf

Motorstorm RC

Virtua Tennis 4

Lunmines

Rayman Origins on Dat Screen

Mutant Blobs Attack

Super Stardust Delta

Treasures Of Montezuma Blitz (Free)

Surge

Velocity

New Little King's Story

Playstation All Stars Battle Royale

Plus coming soon:

Dokuro (sp?)

Soul Sacrifice

Oddworld New 'n' Tasty

Sly Cooper

Killzone

Oddworld Munch's Oddysee

PSO2

Urban Trials (will either be excellent or shit)

On and Playstation Plus

Seriously, despite what the popular opinion is, there is a crap ton of content for a machine that isn't even a year old. It is my most played console right now and with new features that add cross-control to the likes of LBP2, then I believe it will get stronger over the next year.

Oh yes and as mentioned above, a whole host of PS1 and PSP titles you can get hold of digitally and play again, for decent prices (around £3.99 PS1 and £7.99 PSP)

I have to say, I love the Vita unlike any other console/handheld I have ever owned.

I've owned tons of systems over the years, and honestly, on the lead up to the release of the Vita I went into it expecting to have fun with it for a month and then it be sat on my shelf collecting dust like my PSP, DS and iPhone (for games) before it. However, nearly a year later and I'm still playing the Vita as my main system, it has replaced my PS3/360/PC and it is still satisfying all my gaming needs. I never ever expected this, I am so impressed with pretty much everything about the Vita.

It is giving me the types of games I adore most, pretty much everything I have played on it I have loved and the fact that PlayStation Plus is now on the device ... it just seems like perfection! I am shocked that the device hasn't shifted more units. but I kinda blame SONY and their kak marketing for a lot of it. However, this will be like the PS3 ... early on it wasn't selling well, but SONY just got their head down and kept cracking on with their vision and bombarded us with games. I expect the Vita will do the same thing.

I also don't understand this myth that is out there still about the Vita having no games either. I have so many games that I still have games I picked up on launch day I wanna play. The Vita has tons of games! I'm gonna go on record and say, the Vita is not only the best thing I bought in 2012, it is also the single best thing I have ever bought in my whole life. I really mean this, the Vita has changed the way I game ... and I'm loving it!

So, escapeVektor then. Am I missing the point of this game or is it just not for me? The camera keeps doing all these weird angles which makes it impossible to see where my enemies are unless I keep tilting the machine, which completely takes me out of the gameplay and makes me look like a spaz.

Sup, mang? :(

EDIT: I found the option in the menu to turn the tilting off, but now I have to keep my finger on the R-trigger to be able to see the whole map. Annoying.

The gyroscope - with no disrespect to Nnooo - is badly implemented. The worst thing I found is that, if you leave it on and tilt the Vita at an unusual angle when loading, it'll start with loads of the action pushed off-screen as it calibrated wrong.

So yeah, turn gyro off. I don't need the full map at all times, and find the zoomed out view means I miss smaller enemies swarming near me. So I tend to only use the full view when planning a route.

The views aren't perfect, granted, but It's such a good game, it's worth adapting I think.

I'd consider switching between the views frequently - later on there are very detailed, complex maps with traps you may miss when zoomed-out.

You also increase your abilities pretty quickly. I won't spoil them, but they make it even more fun - great for going back to earlier levels and spanking them hard, too!

Yep!

Moreover, if you don't want a Vita right now, but don't want to lose out on the games currently available, you can add PS+ Vita games to your basket on PSN even now (and download them to your PS3 to transfer once you get a Vita, should you so wish).

Hang on a minute... I've just splashed on a 1 year sub to PS+ for my PS3 as it was on offer over Christmas.

Does this mean that if I bought a Vita I would get free games for that AS WELL AS my PS3 for no extra cost?

Yes! Put them in your download list (in basket > checkout > pay) so you can get them when you buy a Vita.

I'm about 67 hours into Persona 4 and just got my first social rank maxed out, which led me to getting a girlfriend! Yay! So next day I go and do one of my other social links and get the chance to go out with them instead! So I dumped the other girl for the hot rich one. I feel way way more guilty than I should.

Persona 4 just came in the post - awesome!

Cool! I've never played a persona game, 4 will be my first but I'm waiting for the UK release and hoping for a LE.

I've still got so many games to get through first though. MGS3 is my current big game which I'm playing for the first time. Which is odd as I'm a massive MGS fan, I've played MGS 1,2,4 and PW but never 3 some how it slipped through the generation gap.

What a game though! I can see why it's so highly regarded and despite my fears of over complexity and long alert periods it's been fine as a commute and lunch hour game. Epic stuff, I highly recommend the HD collection to fans and newcomers alike.

Unfortunately I've not had time to play MGS3 over the holidays but it's nice to.have something to look forward to when I go back to work next week.

In the mean time I've been playing ToMB and Jetpack Joyride. Set an epic score on ToMB while waiting for takeaway last night!

I hope this year is more successful for what is the greatest handheld I have ever owned and the ultimate gaming dad console.

got my sister a Vita who is very happy but she only wanted to play Assassin Creed, as she's a hug fan of the franchise. I also got her Uncharted but besides from Persona and Katamari there's hardly anything else that she's interested in. Is there news of a new Monster Hunter?, I seen Soul Sacrifice which looks similar but seems very dark in comparsion. I must admit the Vita is a hugely impressive kit, but was hoping for more games.

Say that you buy one of these consoles with FIFA and a 4GB card. I understand that the game itself is a download code, not a bundled physical copy? So, a 4GB after "formating information" is about a lot less. How much does a game like FIFA take up?

I'd jump at the option to buy one of these as they look sexy as hell. However the Vita only memory cards and the ridiculous price of them make me feel cheated without even buying one, never mind owning one! The 32GB card price is obscene!

There are several MonHun clones (if you are fluent in Japanese), but it seems Capcom have signed up to be exclusive to Nintendo systems for that game. PSO2 might be alright.
