The only annoyance is what Brad called out earlier. Keep tapping the back and punching thin air. Should be able to switch it off, if not in game, then in the Vita settings. Also would be nice if it remembered to stay in first person after hunting someone/fighting.

These are teeny gripes though, I am in a pissy hungover mood. It's awesome!

Yeah, the gripes are something you quickly learn to adjust to and overcome.

1. Sensitive rear touch

2. staying in third person after capturing a bounty.

I just lost a bit more time to it this evening and am loving it so far. You know a game is good, when you can pick out some niggles, but don't really care about them.

How the hell do you send game goods with Near?

I received some Crystals for ToM from CaptainCluke, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to send some out myself.

Ha, you ended up with them, did you? You just hit share when you win some and it sends out a fifth of your winnings (bizarrely, you still get the full amount!)

I thought it only went to people "nearby" but it seems it can go to your friendlist too (makes sense to go to someone who is actually playing the game, I guess)

I still haven't figured out Near fully, even after the UI revamp. The charts will say something like 8 people are playing (e.g) Uncharted, but if I click on the icon to get more details, it says 5/29 players or playing it. Who are these "29"? And why only 5 now?

Rubbish, rubbish UI.

I worked it out in the end last night. Will start to share all my decent scratchcard winnings from now on.

Thank you by the way, 12,000 came in very handy.

Still can't do anything of note with my scores though. Need to figure out the best combo of bonuses and totems.

It's good.

Visually it sits somewhere between the PS3 game and the Xbox original. Texture fidelity is excellent, but it seems slightly washed out compared to the rich colours of the PS3 version. Framerate is largely solid with a few drops in busy areas. Control wise it has a few issues - the rear touch for punching is silly and hopefully will get a patch, double tapping to switch views is weird and the view resets back to third person after you trap a criminal - and it's important to remember it is quite an old game now so it has quirks and irritations you wouldn't get in a modern title (poor camera, slightly soggy feel to the controls, some progression issues) but overall it's a very impressive title. There's care with the UI to make stuff thumb navigatable on menus and it's still a fun and fairly unique game with a great theme and setting. I'd say for £7.50 you'd be a nutter not to buy it.

There's no real point in sharing this other than other than to air my annoyance. It would be pretty stupid to sell it and buy another one over this, right?

Got Stranger's Wrath last night, seems very nice. Should be good revisiting it (though I'm still trying to polish Gravity Rush off too). It's pretty nice for first person controls, but I find third person camera control on the right stick rather floaty. Similar on Gravity Rush really, at least when I'm on the ground. Anyone else find this?
